CHIEF Government spokesperson Ronnie Shikapwasha has challenged All People’s Congress (APC) party president Ken Ngondo to provide evidence which will link Vice-President George Kunda and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Chalwe Mchenga to any act of corruption in the Judiciary.

Lieutenant-General Shikapwasha said Mr Ngondo has no basis to demand the resignation of Mr Kunda and Mr Mchenga.

Gen. Shikapwasha was commenting on a story that appeared in yesterday’s edition of The Post Newspaper attributed to Mr Ngondo, who is demanding the resignation of Mr Kunda and Mr Mchenga.
He said in an interview yesterday in Lusaka that Mr Ngondo should stop making unwarranted allegations which he cannot prove.

Gen. Shikapwasha said since Mr Ngondo has decided to talk about the alleged rot that exists in the Judiciary, he must also state whether the acquittal of Post Newspaper News Editor Chansa Kabwela is an act of corruption.

Mr Ngondo was quoted as having said that he supports The Post newspaper’s editorial policy.
“Zambia has an independent Judiciary. If Mr Ngondo thinks the Judiciary is corrupt, he must lay the evidence for us to see, otherwise, he must desist from making unwarranted statements in the media,” Gen. Shikapwasha said.

He said as a leader, Mr Ngondo has no right to demean Mr Kunda as reported in The Post Newspaper.[quote]
Gen.Shikapwasha said Mr Ngondo must respect elected leaders just as he would like to be respected if he were in the same position.

But when contacted, Mr Ngondo claimed he has evidence to prove that the Judiciary and some government ministers are allegedly corrupt. He said he will soon hold a press conference to prove his allegations.

On his lack of respect for Mr Kunda, Mr Ngondo said he had great respect for the Vice-President but he has come to realise that the respect is not mutual.

“Mr Kunda has no respect for me. He referred to my party on national media as ‘Mr Ngondo’s party’. My party is called All People’s Congress Party and he must refer to it as such,” he said.

  1. the problem is not the post reporting these statements, the problem is these old men who take themselves there to issue crazy statements. why do these old men keep issuing crazy statements which are in turn responded by a crazy churchman soldier

  2. Shikapwasha wouldnt dare Sata or the post on such allegations…aba nabo ba Ngondo, has he got any caders, this man should be at some farm doing something sensible with his time

  3. Mr Ngondo you dont have to even stress and waste time responding to shiki yapwasha, there is sufficient evindance of corruption in zambia judciary and no doubt about that, already Zambian people have been deined their constitutional right to appeal on cases involving plunders.

  4. “He said as a leader, Mr Ngondo has no right to demean Mr Kunda as reported in The Post Newspaper”
I thought kund is the one demeaning himself by issuing alarming statements, which an sane lawyer worth his salt can not issue. So its okey for kunda to demean his friends but when they return the favour it becomes wrong. If Mr george kunda wants to be respected he should respect himself first.the way he has been going on of late, trying to defend wrong things most people who have the heart for the country have stopped respecting him, they can see through his lies.

  5. I feel it is correct to point at facts in leadership. For example it is a known fact that Shikapwasha is misleading the public! It is a fact that Mulongoti and Mumbi are Political bitches! Its also a fact that RB will lose elections in 2011.

  6. Mr Ngondo don’t worst your time on the people with big Noses, there all the same. They are doing nothing but finishing our Oxygen that the Country needs.

  7. Respect is not imposed, it is earned. On this score, George Kunda has failed. See, of late he has been a very busy bee scaremongering Tongas with tribally vernomous and clearly unfounded allegations that their boy HH is being taken for a ride by an old Bemba man called Sata. Only yesterday, he claimed the Post and M’Membe are trying to wrestle instruments of power from government and when confronted to arrest them this being a treasonable matter, the twit buckled. His support for Dora was clearly vexatious and as for the Chiluba case, his stance really begs one to question whether this I.D.I.O.T. really saw the inside of a legal school. Kunda stinks of corruption and Ken Ngondo is right.

  8. Gen. Shikapwasha should just shut his big mouth and nostrils up, out judiciary is stinking rotten. If it was not, the Post Newspaper News Editor Chansa Kabwela’s case would never to begin with have even been entertained by the courts, it was to put it in Prof. Ndulo’s words a “classic comedy of errors”. Any DPP worth his law degree or judiciary worth its salt would not have taken orders from Kanitundila to prosecute Kabweka for distributing so called morally corrupting materials. Well, maybe it is to s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y. peverts like them in whom a “hard-on” can be triggered by pictures of a woman in labour and they think we are all queer like them.

  9. Guys guys guys! Napapata!!!!! How I really wish we could re-boot Zed and start afresh. Thrash into a bin all these recycled politicians who have nothing to offer except bashing each other publicly day in and day out – . VP Kunda accuses M’mebe; Molongoti bashes sata; Chizyuka vs Sata… RB lashes out at this one …. this one insults the other ….. and so on and so on – Nensoni tabakwata

Seriously our leaders lack SELF RESPECT, DIGNITY AND PRIDE.

I really fail to understand just how an entire leader would stand on any forum or Radio programme and start bad-mouthing another. Don’t they have constructive things to talk about or can’t they talk about anything without insulting someone.

    ============

Nomba kwaingila Shika vs Ngondo, with VP GK in the mix somewhere.

  10. Can you big and tired old politicians give us a break,we need to move on and develop our mother Zambia.
I agree with #11 he is very right. You lack SELF RESPECT,DIGNITY AND MORALS.Why always on each others throat at the expense of development? Come on guys you can do better than this,

  11. Ronnie has asked Ngondo to state whether the acquittal of Chansa was an act of corruption since he has decided to talk about the rot in the judiciary.I thought we all agreed finally that the case of Chansa shouldn’t have seen the inside of the courtroom in the first place. The fact that it did, shows how mr Ronnie’s boss is abusing the judiciary. Suprisingly, the Dpp didn’t move in to stop the case. No wonder pipo are calling for his resignation!

  12. You know what, all this is just about finished goods wanting to revive themselves and you young ones are here bashing each other.

  13. hehehehehe….the chaps u helped campaign are now agianst you…what did u think?expose them and we shall respect you Ken..

  14. I am afraid that I see a strange agenda by the Post Newspaper. The biggest mistake is that PF and Post have formed an alliance to work on discrediting the President at all costs. The manner of reporting is obvious unless you do not know them or you are a sympathizer. The people who are quoted to discredit the government or officials are the same individuals.
Any reasonable News Paper must criticize government but it is the way that this is done.

Unfortunately the majority of people cannot distinguish between good reporting and salted one. Many think that anything reported in a newspaper is GOSPEL TRUTH, so they believe anything.
Recently The Post ran a false story the the president was wasting money buying a LIMO. When facts came out, they never retracted/apologized,

  15. I think Lelo (16) is right. I don’t think the Post is wrong in exposing the wrongs and criticising government, the only problem is the way this is done.Because of disenchantment, most Zambians are unhappy with the MMD government and in such situations tend to think that whatever the Post cover is gospel truth. Let us be level-headed when we are scrutinising certain issues. We are mere mortals on earth, each with his weaknesses and strength. So are the Post reporters and editors.
