Tell Zambians what you will do when you assume power, Mabenga tells opposition

Michael Mabenga

The Movement for Multi Party Democracy MMD has expressed displeasure at opposition political parties continued insults and attacks on the Republican President.

MMD national Chairman Michael Mabenga has since advised opposition political parties to direct their energy to tell the Zambian people what they will do when they come into power.

Mr. Mabenga said President Banda has made visible efforts to ensure the country achieves enhanced economic Development.

He noted that the MMD as a party has a passion for the efforts the President has made in a short time that he has saved in office since his election.

Speaking at a press briefing, Mr. Mabenga cited the growth in the mining sector, the oil explorations and the re introduction of the Fertilizer Support Input Program in the Agriculture sector as some of the many development efforts scored by President Banda.

He noted that all these achievements are an indication that the President is working and wondered why some people are saying the President has failed.

Mr. Mabenga further said the opposition political parties were using bad language because they have taken advantage of the democratic environment in Zambia.

He called on Zambians to support President Banda because he meant well for Zambians.

Meanwhile, the MMD has said the recent tour of Western province by United Party for National Development- UPND President Hakainde Hichilema was unsuccessful.

Mr. Mabenga also reiterated that former Gender Minister Patricia Mulasikwanda’s resignation from the MMD party was a good move adding that she was just there to detract the party.

He noted that her moving to the opposition UPND/PF Pact will not make any impact saying Ms. Mulasikwanda failed to improve her political career from as way back as the time she was with UNIP and MMD.

  1. DOn’t worry boss. come 2011, we are burying them. It will be a total decimation of the so called PACT. They are already heavily divided and by the time they agree on China, it will be 2016 just in time have us to bury them again and retire their chronic losing leaders. Hopefully Zambia who support them will come to their senses and seek a better, alternative and credible opposition to our great party. Lusaka & CB are already shifting slowly after seeing the trickle down effects of the economics gains that have slowly, but surely started happening.

  2. When the opposition come into power, they will kick your b.utts baba.

  3. LOL. And what do coters themselves want to hear – insults or developmental issues. It may be that the insults have an audience, how then can an insulting leader still receive votes?

  4. I do no support the PACT with Sata as a leader. HH pliz dont let SATA and the POSTnewspaper ride you to deliver victory for them.. HH you have run a clean party, pliz cntinue and dont let these vultures hoover so that you deliver them to statehouse. Come 2011, UPND will be the largest opposition you dont win the Elections.. The UPND is as strong as before..while the PF is divided and crumbling…

  5. Why is almost everypne speaking negative about RB? Then, there is something he is doing wrong! If people like Nawakwi, Ngondo and others who spent their energies campaigning for RB are speaking negative today, then they have seen something wrong with RB and his government. RB open up your eyes and see! The gungs arround you are not telling you the truth. Sometimes I wonder if RB even knows what is good for him because he doesn’t to accept reality. If RB thinks that Mulongoti, Mabenga, Kaande and others are there to help him rule better, he will learn it very late that nothing will have remained to rectify the situation. The pact seem to have taken over already. As long as the pact does not disintegrate, RB and MMD are out of gov. come 2011. THIS IS UNDISPUTABLE FACT; DON’T AGUE IT IS…

  6. The problem with RB is anbody who does not agree with him is insulting and this word is now becoming a slogan in MMD.Criticism does not amount to insulting bama mabenga.Learn from it.Don’t think you will gain any sypathy from zambians by claiming all the time that you are being insulted when people tell you the truth, smell the coffee and put your house in order.Trust me once you fix your coorupt MMD part and your president stops behaving like a tourist in the country he is suppose to rule no one will critise and obvisiouly no insults on your part will be received!!!!!!!!1

  7. “Tell Zambians what you will do when you assume power, Mabenga tells opposition”

Ba mabenge is this a question you can ask the opposition even my daughter in baby class can answer this one. They are opposition so when voted they will do the opposite of what the MMD is doing right now.Where you were turning left they will turn right.Where you where flying they will be driving.simple and straight forward, where you were stealing they will be replacing.

  8. I honestly have not heard or seen anyone insult RB or any other Politician for that matter! The problem is that people want to translate english words into our local languages directly. Speaking of someone’s weaknesses(Perceived or otherwise) does not amount to insulting! No politician in Zed can escape their misdeeds since these are just manifestations of what they really are! Fact is that all these chaps are opportunists and wholesomely unprincipled! They dont understand what democracy is and ,except for a few of them, are UNIPists to the bone! The current crop of politicians are just hell bent on filling their pockets with loot from national coffers and their bellies with KFC, Mac while we al toil our butts out! None of them inspires wholesome hope in us! Shame!!

  9. This man has a problem as well. sata is telling people what is going to do by building houses in 90 days..!! tWhat more do you want him to tell them…? He told them already. HH’s tour of western province was successfull not what you are saying you thief. who does not know Mabenga?. At one time Mazoka described him as a man talking without reasoning.!! it is true. Everyone is saying HH’s tour was successsfull why lieying. RB is sorrounded by bad people like Mabenga…!!

  10. # 1 Chief MMD,

Allow me to implore the selfless patriots that Zambia has no alternative but centrist MMD to stay the course which it will beyond 2011.What we have in the rumbling business are perennial losers in the wilderness.Their politics evolve around insults which is no voter converter.MMD and RB a people’s choice in 2011.

  11. When did the so called PACT misleading men last reached out to voters in Kalengwa,Mutanda, Kashiba, Chipoma, kasomeno,Kabunda, Matonchi, Kapushi, Kalabo, Sailunga, Chavuma,Tembwe,Ndungu,Muyombe,Lumimba,Mwense, Ndubeni,Chief Mushili’s Chileshe area, Kapundu, Milenge, Mwense or Nchelenge to mention but a few. These people all they see and hear from is RB and District Commissioners who visit them or on ZNBC news bulletin day in and out taking development to their hearts. Voters have no heart for tabloid insults nor know what animal a PACT is. If they think insulting in the tabloid is a game changer, Let them dream on.

  12. MMD need to keep the momentum of internalizing its strength, unity and victory drive at all levels. Certainly it will never lose in 2011 for many fundamental reasons if the realignment can continue like this. It has the most reliable party predisposition to fall back on. Systematically stay on top of issues and strategy while rattling hard the enemies who in reaction get trapped in their own insults centered politics in tabloids without a country wide strategy. Keep the successful dedicated approach of multi-level responsibility. Keep the many leaders and technocrats driving development and only selected few assigned to daily politicking as provocation political machinists for diversion that trap the inimical heads in insults.

  13. Look at GK’s steadfast provocation on the PACT leaderlessness. It has rattled Satan himself in reaction. He is indignantly brazing with insults below a national leader standard all directed on GK and then GK evokes party functionaries to gear up for 2011 when the leadership issue is getting delicately explosive and sensitive. Meanwhile RB is growing the touch with national constituency canvassing and does not see or read the insulting centered tabloid like the major voting constituency around the country.

  14. Actually the so called pact between PF and UPND is an exercise of futility. Practically it would be very difficult for any political party to unseat the ruling MMD, especially now that it is very strong past the polarization years of 2001 and 2006 when the party had politics of ending up with a 29% President. No doubt President Rupiah Banda will perform to greater heights and many voting constituencies are realizing this fact. The so called pact’s focus is to remove MMD as its core business without national agenda for the country. Such is failed politics.MMD is up to the challenge and is certainly folding its hands or sitting idle because the party is very much electifying the grassroots.

  16. This chief booklicker must tell us what position he holds in Movement for Mad Dogs (MMD). 2011 is coming, for you guys to win you must even register imbwa so that the number of your electorates fattens.

  17. Actually the so called pact between PF and UPND is a hoax of an exercise of futility without framework, vision legal thought of circumventing the constitutional hurdle. Practically it would be very difficult for any political party to unseat the ruling MMD, especially now that it is very strong past the polarization years of 2001 and 2006 when the party had politics of ending up with a 29% President. 18. President Banda is alive to the fact that a few Zambians are disillusioned and deadly scared that MMD may falter only to risk the most stable country faling in the hands of dysfunctional bitter megalomaniac opportunists in the PF-UPND pact. Like many patriotic Zambians he knows that this will not happen because the MMD has a bigger pact to make with the Zambian people.

  19. This is why RB says and I quote him, “I want my fellow political actors, organisers of this political party, to go from door to door and convince those who are not with us why they should join us. We want to unite our country and only a strong ruling class can do so. I don’t want to hear from my political party that ‘this group of people is against us, that group of people is against us, this one is against us,” Banda said in November.”They must have a reason for being against you and it’s your duty to go and convince them that they are wrong to be against you,” the President added.

  20. Any smart Zambian is grounded with the facts that the future of the so called pact is bleak and purely academic in existence because “it has been formed out of desperation for power by the two tribal and power hungry political party misleading men.The pact is an implosive marriage of convenience and it is a matter of months now if not weeks before it implodes in its disastrous divorce, Yes the two misleading men of the pact have no plans for national development or unity, but their interest was to get into government to settle their heavy foreign contracted debts like Sata with Taiwanese Government and HH apartheid South Africans.

  21. Do the two main political parties have shadow cabinets? Has anyone actually seen the two leaders together? Insult RB and his minions as much as you want but yes give us some idea as to how you will govern the country besides chasing away Chinese investors. Additionally, it is not too much to ask for PF to practice some internal democracy and go for a convention.

  22. No supporter of the so-called PACT here has tried to address a legitimate question asked by Mr. Mabenga – notwithstanding Mr. Mabenga’s personal problems. Instead we are littered with insults as per tradition. So far, I have not heard anything to convince me to support the PACT ignoring their divergent views on investment. Zambia should not experiment with leadership – we did it in 1991 and we should be done.

  23. Veteran, Veteran, Veteran welele welele welele. The DC for Solwezi, his name was Jifita I believe. Where is his sorry a.r.s.e? It was kicked by the people of Solwezi Central. Many DCs would elections if they stood. These people are hated like inyenzi, nyandule, cockroach. What makes you think that they tell Mr AlaBee the truth? They lie to him at breakfast, lie to him at lunch and lie to him at supper. 2011 nimwaluseni.

  26. This is what will be done 1. arrest all MMD thieves 2.FTJ will be sent to court 3. ZAMTEL will be nationalised 4. all tender processes will be audited 5. roads will be build 6. all aged civil servants in judiciary, etc will be retired 6. all appointments will be reviewed

  27. Chicago city,

Are you the Chama chakomboka incanate we have been hearing about? Your dreams and dellusions manifest the mind of Chama chakomboka.

  28. Simple, we all have been witnesses to what MMD can do—-NOTHING!—-other than mediocrity, corruption, mismanagement of public funds, thieving, incompetence, extra.

Now, the question is: Has the PACT clearly defined their agenda for Zambia to the Zambian people? ANSWER: A big “?”. If the aim is to just kick MMD out of power, I will venture to say they don’t deserve a single solitary vote. It may be too late for the PACT to realise the importance of “DEFINING YOURSELF” than letting your opponent define you. PACT, define what you stand for and your intentions when you get elected. The blah, blah, blah, coming from Sata is not inspiring at all.

Mind you, people may end up concluding that IT IS BETTER TO DEAL WITH THE DEVIL YOU KNOW (MMD) THAN THE DEVIL YOU DON’T (PF/UPND PACT)!!

  29. Why should you force them to tell you iwe Mabenga? Your party has deviated from all the programs that we had made as founder members

  30. ah ah ah so these pipo also know that come 2011 the PACT is coming into power!good one Mabenga, atleast u have seen the writing on the wall!

  31. iwe LT ngaka ka flag ulempela?do I look like am in Afghanistan,Kazakstan,Kuwait or whatever ka country that flag is for?…am in Zed iwe boi naiwe!

  32. I believe when a guy is proposing to a girl, he will pour out his manifesto on why he thinks he is the right man for her so that he wins her heart. He won’t dwell much on the failures of her ex-man. Seriously speaking, the UPND-PF Pact has never defined itself properly from the time they announced the formation of the Pact. It’s important for the Pact to state what it stands for and its objectives: this is very cardinal if they want the people of Zambia to take them seriously. Always condemning MMD won’t do because at the end of the day, people will realise that these leaders had been part and parcel of the MMD at one point and therefore contributed to the mess that is there. Let the Pact redirect their energies on telling the people what they will do for zambia this time around.

  33. Mabenga ,KK and William Banda plus UNIP team up if you like. You will never come back to power.Heed peoples advice. We allowed you to come back definately not come and bring back unip in the name of mmd.Zambians are not fools ,they are only accommodative. This does not mean they are weak and dont think we allow the likes of William Banda and the rest, come to whims of power to rule us again. If this is you plot, as Zambians will make sure your boss kk loses all the benefits including that house. You Malawians tamutasha bakaboke.Politics is all about change and serving the people. In Malawi you are not even known lazo iwe.
