Police in Mazabuka have picked up five senior PF officials in connection with the harrasment of Journalist at Mazabuka community radio station last weekend.
The five include Provincial PF youth chairman, Brave Mweetwa, District chairperson, Nelson Simbule and losing Mazabuka Central Parliamentary candidate, Donald Zulu.
Lawyer representing the five, Joseph Akafumba confirmed the development to ZANIS in Mazabuka.
Meanwhile, the Media Liason committee has commended President Rupiah Banda for condenming violence against journalists.
Committee Chairman, Henry Kabwe, says the media bodies will not tolerate any violence against Journalists.

With this kind of behaviour, the people of Zambia are watching. Violence is not the way to victory in a democratic state. Convince the people with viable manifetos that can be implemented effectively and do not intimidate the media, one day you will need them (journalists) badly.

And also pick up the MMD cadres who destroyed property at Radio Chengelo when Sata was being interviewed and pick up those threatening Father Mwewa in ndola. Let us be seen to be fair in all that we do please!!!
#7Very Sad indeed. You are right. No one should be allowed to disturb peace for any reason at all. Also can the police tell us if those thugs called Zanama have been picked up the murder of that innocent marketeer. Please be it MMD, Unip PF, Upnd.you are not licenced to beat up people that is why we have courts of law. If you are aggrieved just sue intead of fighting.
# 7 VERY SAD INDDED: The MMD who beat up Chibaula Silwamba at the Lusaka International Airport is already in court. The MMD who bear up Michael Sata at Radio Ichengelo in Kitwe is Willie Nsanda who is now with Sata in PF.
Enlighten me # 9 about willie nsanda beating up sata cos willie was already in pf camp. what about the bull dozer that pulled down willie nsanda’s wall fence in full view of police and sunctioned by works and supply? please correct me if am wrong.
#10 VERY SAD: You don’t seem to have your facts in good order. Willie Nsanda is a late comer to PF. He only joined after the 2006 elections. He infact apologised to Sata over the incident in Kitwe where he led a group of MMD youths to assault Sata at the ZNBC studios. The conventional wisdom is that “Don’t be too fanatical about politics. You could be forced to swallow your own words.”
I have nothing to say about the police who only act upon RB’s instruction. They have no idea of what to do with mmd cadres only active RB instruct them to arrest opposition political party cadres,what a shame! they should also arest the mmd thugs who attacked Fr Mwewa in Ndola
