SIX Chiefs of the Kunda speaking people of Mambwe District of the Eastern Province are this month expected to meet and discuss the way forward of how they can deal with Patriotic Front leader, Michael Sata over his recent statement that Chipata-Mfuwe Road was leading to a game park.
Senior Chief Nsefu said yesterday that all the six Kunda chiefs would be meeting to discuss the way forward on how they could deal with Mr Sata.
Chief Nsefu said all Kunda traditional leaders in the area felt that Mr Sata insulted the people of Mambwe District because of his statement issued recently.
“Right up now we are contemplating on the date when we can meet as traditional leaders of Mambwe District but we are meeting this month in order to discuss the behaviour and the statement of Mr Sata,” he said.
He said among the issues to be discussed would include the banning of Mr Sata not to visit Mambwe District for his political meetings.
Chief Nsefu said Mr Sata should be chased whenever he visits Mambwe District because of the recent insults against the people of Mambwe District.
Meanwhile, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) has advised the PF leaders to keep quiet because they had run out of ideas.
Reacting to PF leaders’ outbursts on the construction of the Chipata-Mfuwe Road, Authentic Advocates for Justice and Peace general secretary Laiford Mwanza said yesterday that his organisation was disturbed by utterances by PF leaders.
Mr Mwanza said in a joint statement also signed by information and publicity secretary Josephat Changwe that Mr Sata and his youth secretary Eric Chanda had issued uncalled for statements on President Rupiah Banda’s directive on Chipata-Mfuwe road.
“In our perspective, PF leaders seem to have run out of ideas and the best they can do is keep quiet and spare people’s ears from the political ranting,” he said.
[Times of Zambia]
Wonders shall never cease to amaze me especially when i look at zedian issues. Surely just a road and for sure the part these politicians are happy about is leading to the reserve area no more no less. people are excited that 290 billion will cover the whole road, wait and we shall see another zimba-l/stone saga, mongu-kalabo nonsense and ofcourse the infamous chavuma kasempa road in northwestern. what else do you easterners need than a stable GER that connects you to the rest of zed or atleast making eastern province accessible within zambia thru northern province than going thru malawi before you reach mpika? any way sort sata out as per your decision but dont do it on political grounds, you will lose those thrones easily as people are now angry at the MMD and this is evident from your f
Looks like every Chieftain is upto fix Sata.
typical RB sowing seeds of hate..what knowledge do these backward chiefs know about anything?can’t you Zambians see that RB is puting Zambian against Zambian, coz he knows how shallow minded we are and we will fight, the levels of African politics is so shallow a sardine can’t swim in it…
Is there any one in control of this nation? Banda is about to plunge the nation into a very serious chaos. It is easy to think you Zambians are better than those that have fought needless civil wars. This is now knocking at our doors. Soon one of these senseless so called leaders and the dolt uncivilized pea brains chiefs that you who have even smaller brains like Veteran worship will not solve the ensuing calamity to come. The fo@ls in Rwanda thought they were smarter than others. The end result is almost a million perished. Can someone show these brainless chiefs who are now behaving and literary confirming that the road leads to animals the movie Hotel Rwanda? Probably they will understand or learn a thing or two from that movie. RB and these chiefs behavior is becoming annoying.
Go head chiefs but what this shallow minded chiefs should know is that sata is a zambian citzen who is bound to live, vist and go anywhere in zambia as by the conititution rights, can somebody advise thise chiefs before they dig there own treach. Beside that money should spent to develop the roads which connect eastern to the rest of the country as that will forster development.
Who gives these chiefs the right to ‘fix’ anyone? these are not elected officials and they can not ban anyone from entering Zambian land for political campaigning. And of all the people an easterner NGO official should shut up. He is masquerading as NGO when we know he has been bought by MMD. There are worth projects in Eastern province that could have been developed instead of Kaunda and Banda’s playground. SHAME.
What is fun about these dolt chiefs is that even when they made these statements, they were in animal attires. What makes them to wear unprocessed animal attires? They should first think of their behavior before they even utter the rubbish they are spreading. Sata’s statement was not meant for them, but because Jere at state house tells them how to interpret it, they take and try to divide Zambia on those basis. This is a confirmation of Mpombo’s statement about RB’s tribalism and how he is trying to rule Zambia. Unfortunately ba KK fail in that trap and he now also looks like a loose canon.
contd from 1
from the bye elections in kasama where chitimukulu was insulted by his own people indiectly that tata ba chief twalasala GBM not ifyo mulelanda ati iyo tule sapota govt in pawa. chitimukulu will never walk heads tall as a chief among his subjects and now mpezeni the child defiler is following suit.
Crazy indeed. I feel our poor chiefs have been brainwashed. they are being remote controlled because they have been in a slumber up to now. who isgiving them courage. That road if done will only benefit poachers which i believe these chiefs are part of. Shame!!!!
Last month it was Chitimukulu who banned Sata from patronizing Northern Province and now the chiefs in East have followed suit. Hey where are we going as a nation? Next we’ll hear that to travel to another Province within Zed, one needs to apply for a VISA.. LOL!
Oh GOD save us. Propagandism and misinformation is now the new MMD strategy. The MMD is now using very shallow minded persons to target their political foes. We are headed towards KK’s style of leadership. Already we have the so called youths in MMD who have all of a sudden become like the UNIP’s untouchable VIGILANTES. Imagine even priests’ lives are at steak.Very soon this country will be embroiled in chaos and there is a BIG possibility lives shall be lost especially next year. We have at play leaders who are totally selfish and extremely corrupt and whose preoccupation is to rule at all cost. But then LESA talala. Who thought KK would one day even go to prison and worse save for FTJ who has never enjoyed his retirement other than going to courts
There has been a lot of talk about the PACT and about Rupiah Banda kissing the Lamba Votes good bye and also that some roads should not be tarred because they lead to areas where only animals live. In addition on today’s posting of Dudumwezi MMD officials defecting to the Pact is really neither here or there too. I wonder what to make of it? I started by compiling a rather long list of the number of Registered voters in the Southern Province just to acquaint myself with the likely strength of the UPND in the Pact and I am disappointed.
Then when I took a look at the four predominantly Lamba constituencies I was even more confused why we even bother with George Mpombo and Namulambe. Readers may make their own permutations or just rubbish this post. And those who have read my previous posts have an Idea on my personal views about the LEGACY so I won’t dwell on this one.
The last time I checked, the landmark in Mfuwe is the game park and mentioning that the road leads to the game park would only hurt people who live in a game park. I have never heard any chief in Livingstone area complaining when people say the road leads to Victoria Falls even when their villages are close to the falls. This will be most controversial road in Zambia. Probably the most deadly and full of pot holes considering the acrimony attached to its construction and the concept behind it.
SOUTHERN PROVINCE REGISTERED VOTERS AS AT 2006 REGISTER.
Choma Central 40,655
Mbabala 20,066
Pemba 19,889
Gwembe 18,431
DUNDUMWEZI 21,994
Kalomo Central 31,331
Mapatizya 22,211
Katombora 34,538
Livingstone 49,089
Chikankata 23,140
Magoye 19,708
Mazabuka Central 34,793
Bwengwa 15,851
Monze Central 30,971
Moomba 10,735
ItezhiTezhi 21,076
Namwala 26,884
Siavonga 27,962
Sinazongwe 34,230
TOTAL 503,554
LAMBA LAND REGISTERED VOTERS AS AT 2006 REGISTER.
Kafulafuta 14,233 Mpombo polled only 7,595 votes
Lufwanyama 26,378 Puma polled 10,294
Masaiti 21,002 Nundwe polled 11,288
Mpongwe 29,722 Namulambe polled 14,094
TOTAL 43,271
True every vote counts in an election BUT accordingly we see that the maximum votes the UPND can get is only 50355. The Dundamwezi MMD officials who say they defected must be ashamed to see that they could not even manage to get a meaningful vote for the MMD in the last elections.
And when Mr George Mpombo says Rupiah must kiss the Lamba vote goodbye you start to wonder what he really means. In the event all Lambas voted for his preferred political party what do we see? And why didn’t the other registered voters IN Lamba Land take part? Was it not because they were not impressed with the Candidates? Mpombo and Namulambe? And just one constituency in Lusaka Munali with more than 81,000 registered voters has twice the number of registered voters as the whole of the Lamba LAND.
Then when you take a look at any four other rural constituencies say we take Lundazi it has 38,503 registered voters, Chasefu has 31,916, Lumezi has 30,193, Petauke has 36,069 these four compared to Mr. Mpombo’s four constituencies have 136,683 voers. Even Mambwe constituency and Mfuwe where Mr. Sata says only animals live and should not have a tarred road have a total of 34,270 registered voters, yet Namwala which also has a similar road tarring project going on has only26,884 registered voters.
Readers may come up with their own permutations. For example Dundumwezi only represents 4.36% of the total registered voters in the Province and only 0.18% of the total Zambian Population. Similarly, even if Mr. Mpombo and Namulambe are expelled from the MMD it will be no big deal really as any other Lamba MMD candidate can I am sure do better than any of these two did for the MMD.
My impression is that we have politicians with very little knowledge of the Politics, Geography and demographic distribution in Zambia and it’s very dangerous for the development of this nation. The idea that we should have an educational standard limit for an MP, should be reignited. And I suggest a basic degree for an MP and higher for a Cabinet Minister. This is the 21st Century and we shall only have ourselves to blame if we are left holding an empty nation when all is said and done.
I am sure if Mr. Sata knew that Mambwe and Mfuwe have 11,834 more registered voters than Mpika his District of origin he would not have issued such a careless statement. Or if Mr. Sata and Mpombo knew that the Mambwe and Mfuwe constituencies have more registered voters than Siavonga, Namwala, Ithezhitezhi, Moomba, Monze Central, Bengwa with only 15,851 voters, Magoye, Chikankata, Mapantizya, Kalomo central Dundbwezi, Gwembe, Pemba, Mbabala Kafulafuta with only 14,233, Masaiti with 21,002, Mpongwe with 29,722 and Lufwanyama with 26,378 and so on these men would have respect for other tribes.
OUR TRADITIONAL CHIEFS CAN’T SEE BEYOND BROWN ENVELOPS. KK TURNED THEM INTO BEGGERS AND RB HAS EVEN TURNED THEM INTO COMPLETE, ID.IOTS. WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN NEXT HE BECOMES NATIONAL PRESIDENT? CHIEFS, THINK USING YOUR HEADS AND NOT BOT.TOMS.
But you have to excuse the guys. And can somebody please advice Mr. Mpombo to stop using the Students Companion Idioms- that text book is for grade five English or whatever Standard 4 is called these days.
Mwata, what is your point? What does your analysis have to do with the chiefs and the road to the animal farm? Who are you citing for the figures you have given here? Are these figures yours or you got them somewhere? Are you saying Easterners are more populated than any other people in Zambia? Are you saying Easterners are content and prefer leaving in the villages than any other tribe in Zambia? Or are you just informing us how MMD made up numbers to win the elections even when they don’t have such populations in those areas? What are the populations of those areas in relation with numbers you have espoused here? How come UNIP and KK never won even when the same happened? Probably we need to check these numbers closely. Uh, someone is jacking up numbers somewhere.
# 25,
This proves you blog from your dreams than a researched background.Buy or pull the ECZ registers and do your quantitative analysis.Us empiricists we don’t blog from our fingers but data.
Mwata, such statitics are never static and are highly dynamic so treat each election as an individual one only comparable to the latest voters register. so your analysis fails on a statistical note. Mind you we are constly moving and probably you are not even in Zambia and by the time the register is ready, some people have died or relocated and it against such a background that you must analyze. Good luck in your future analysis. By the way Lamba land is not only rural areas, the entire Copperbelt, part of Northwestern and central province encompasses the Lamba , lamba/kaonde and lamba/lenje land. so think on those lines and just isolating Eastern province alone thinking any sane presidential candidate can win just from there is not logical.
Mwata, Lambaland is not only West of Ndola, it spans through North-western and down to Central province. If you limit your medula to the figures you’ve exposed yourself to, I can only pitty the guy who pays you to blog. Leave inaccurate jibberish to your bedroom drawers. Analyse what holds out your good qualities.
Mwata, an empiricist always cite sources. You did not cite sources and as such your data could be rendered unauthentic. Hope you know what I am discussing. You left out sources which in essence could be made up numbers. In fact my main question was, I repeat, what does your discussion have to do with the chiefs summoning Sata. What about the Dundumwezi thing? You know, when we discuss issues we link them to the topic, if not we are bound to be groping in the darkness.
Tuma chiefs twa poka. Sata will sort you out if you dont play your hate game well!
Mzee Milton Obote, the late first president of Uganda, at independence, abolished chiefdoms/kingdoms in that country because he foresaw this kind of idi.ocy in the future. Even today, although the chiefdoms/kingdoms have bee restored by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, chiefs/kings play a very limited political role in that country. What authority do these “seven days” imbibing chiefs have to say that they would bar anybody from visiting an area? Zambians, let us be serious and see through the AlaBee/George Kundian axis plunge the country into lawlessness. The constitution which guarantees the freedom of movement is far more superior than the word of these corrupt chiefs. TUKALULWA BANE.
Mwata
some may say your statistics are flawed, but my view is that this is a good attempt at logical blogging, in fact some people who do not understand these numbers and their implications are quick to cry foul when elections go against them. Keep your well thought out blogs coming Mwata !
Thank you very much for your marathon and educative post. People just make noise without research, context and perspective. The PACT is premised on Southern Province and Mpika/Kasama/Mansa. In MMD we know the big ones are Lusaka and Copperbelt and we are going for those in a big way. The pact’s strongholds will be irrelevant and the PACT should not take our urban people for granted. They are more smarter than they think and can read between the lines, can’t wait for 2011 to bury some perennial losers forever.
in Post #33 I was thanking MWATA.
satan is really a bad seed for our mother zambia and he must not be allowed to rule zambia. how on this earth can a man be in total conflicts with almost everyone in the country? alomst every province(NW, W, E & C? zambia has nine provinces and mathermatically one should not expect to win elections of presidential nature with only five provinces and not all entirely to himself. But rather share with his opponents. God forbid
Some of you think that road leading to where animals live will deliver the Presidency to MMD again. Keep dreaming. Sata was right when he said Banda was constructing a road to go home. Remember Banda is not from Chipata but Mfuwe area. Remember the soccer academy name? That will tell you were all these lead. Again, what is the population of Mfuwe that calls for the billions being spent? The last time I checked, there are 50 animals to every one human being. That will tell us who leave in that area.
#29 Go to electoral commission website. These are public figures. Why are you trying hard to convince yourself that the PACT can win the residence with Just Southern Province & Northern Province? Go get the data for yourself. Do you own research and you will come to the same conclusion as MWATA and realise how this PACT is just hot air or just plain old irrational exuberance exercise by people who just suspend their mental faculties to just enjoy a silly movie called PACT 2011
Good Morning
I think these Chiefs are becoming too passionately involved in partisan politics. They may have reason to believe that their opinnion needs to be heard and there”s basically nothing wrong with that but the louder they speak, the more one gets the impression that their voice is driven by motives of personal gain. Why don’t they just stand back and observe?
The ECZ results can not be relied on as am talking, these are in the archives and so this forms part of history. Mind you no single election and bye election in Zambia has reproduced itself where the same numbers appear. last time we were seeing copperbelt leading especially in the early 90’s but now you have to convince almost each province. thats why i like american elections, you have to win a certain percentage in each state to be declared winner not just Simple majority.
I have no time to go look for data, but it is encumbant upon any one who brings out such to cite were they got it even if I am not to check that source. Failure to do that renders you plagiarizing and stealing data from other sources. Am I being academic, probably so, but it is a norm and ethical to cite source as not doing so makes you look like you did your own findings. Cheats. Mr Sakala.
Zedlander, I can’t agree with you more! Flawed as they may be, these statics are the closest one can use to advance any logical judgement! Well done Mwata! I am not an MMD supporter but when one advances a well thoughtout and researched arguement, I will certainly take embrace that and take it as food for that! These are the data that all politicians should access and use to determine the likelyhood of them winning an election in a particular consistuency. If the opposition, if not all parties worht their salt, could get down to the drawing board and analyse such data (latest data at that) they’ll certainly stop crying foul and will have less pettiitions, whch are a drain on our meagre resources. Big up Mwata! Good ammo for the PACT and MMD too! A double egded sword, I would say!
Who needs a chief anyway? I have never leaved under any chief leadership and I don’t intent to do so. The leeches are lazy and have no place in our political arena apart from formenting tribalism as we can see. They are drunks who prey on young girls. Most of them, their brains are tainted with corruption, fornication, child molestations, and presently, begging. Sata has see the needlessness of these leeches to an extent he has always told them to go shove it. Keeping watching, he is going to tell that drunk in the name of Mpenzeni to go pound sand. That is how leaders with substance react to such rascals like Mpezeni and Chitimukulu.
We have bloggers here whose thinking is so extreme that its hard for them to think logically.Mwanta, your analysis is reflective of the stuation on the ground.Something our opposition dont know hence rendering themselves irrelevant.
My own understanding of what Mr. Sata was that the Chipata – Mfuwe road was that it was not going to benefit the people much because it passed through an area inhabited by animals more than people. He also expressed the suspicion that that the priority being given to this road was probably because RB’s farm is located along the road. Furthermore, Sata questioned how 290 billion kwacha was going to be spent on this road when the Yellow Book showed that only 5 billion kwacha had been budgeted for it. He went further and gave examples of many other roads, including many in the Eastern Province and other provinces which have been on the drawing board longer than the Chipata-Mfuwe road but have not been worked on for ages.
So what is problem?
Mambwe constituency and Mfuwe where Mr. Sata says only animals live and should not have a tarred road have a total of 34,270 registered voters. Actually if Mr. Sata was rational and an analytical politician, he wouldn’t have gaffed like he has considering that that Mambwe and Mfuwe have 11,834 more registered voters than Mpika his District of origin as Mwata has extrapolated it with sanctity. Sata would not have issued such a careless xenophobic statement against the people of eastern province. This is same crime he committed with the people of NW province he called nyamazai he has always planned chasing them to Angola and not keen in their votes.
Uku kupena kwa mfumu!!! Chief Nsefu said all Kunda traditional leaders in the area felt that Mr Sata insulted the people of Mambwe District, FOOLISH !!! Instead of meeting to discuss the way forward on how you are going to deal with agriculture the next season, what kind of good crops to grow, about fertilizer and how to be a good leader. But you’re wasting time discussing Mr. Sata who has got everything. Think chiefs think, NAMUKULA!!!
People of God where are we going? What has become of mother Zambia? Is there any sign that we are heading for development. We really need to pray for our country.Chiefs have sold themselves, respect has become past tense.mmmmm where on earth? God please for give us for our sins and do not lead us into the hands of weaked men but look upon us with your eyes of mercy…May that peace, your peace remain with us now and forever.
I must confess that I swayed from the topic at hand by Mwata, but all for the good reasons! I want to agree with sata in principle! The only mistake he made was calling a spade a spade and not a spoon. The whole idea of tarring the road is enhance tourism, which entails visiting the game park. How else can you call it? The road may benefits the villagers only during construction as some will be employed as labourers! After that, it’s the RB’s Farm and relatives! FTJ, did it in Luapula, why can’t RB did it? Levy must have done the same to Teka farm, but hey it is so directly off the main road!
These Chiefs have sunk so low just to get some pay from Rupiah Banda. When did the rule that Chiefs aren’t supposed to be cadres ever cease? They can make observations with dignity but to make such comments is just silly!
Mwata said his source is the voters register of 2006 in posting#16. So Kalos2020#29 that should be sufficient in as far as citing reference is concerned. I think Mwata makes a good argument from a demographic perspective. In my opinion no constituency should be left to the wind. The PACt must ensure that every grounded is treaded. As for the utterances of Mpombo and Sata that is good politiking to give MMD something to worry about. In politics you must always get your opponet from focusing on the ball, that way you buy time to contunue with your agenda. So bloggers expect more utterances its all a game of out-manourvering your opponet.
kalos2020…if you are well lined up in your mind and body, you would have taken a leaf out of the movie Hotel Rwanda you earlier stated, its the calling of names and the thinking that some people are more important than others. Sata is not the option for plot1….hes too much of a careless dictator upto the measure of Hitler. wait and watch
48… you are lier, what did Chiluba did for Luapula? puting a ka one desiel pump at his village musangu? Please tell the truth…chiluba did nothing for Luapula.
About these chiefs, it is now becoming so dangerious in Zambia and if RB is not carefull he can plunge the country into civil war. Other pronvinces can retaliate as well. Be carefull guys!!!!!!
# 44 Max, well summarised. Mwata and Veteran does it mean somebody cannot be objective in their ctricism as Sata was trying to say as summarised by #44? Do you always have to think in terms of politics and winnning (subjectuve) rather than be objective?
Those gunmen opening fire on young footballers should open fire on those chiefs when they are getting brown envelopes which seem to be getting to their heads why meet to discuss Mr. Sata instead of development you fools
Myopic PF cadres are shockingly unable to see that these are ominous signs in Cobras chances of winning the presidency. If any one in the PF had some brains they would ask Sata to apologise to Chitimukulu and all the other chiefs who are agrieved by his foul mouthed speeches. If mr Sata can be this arrogant now when he is suppose to beg for votes, then things would be terrible if he were to be in a position of authority. Tell me are there any chiefs who want Sata at the moment(i know he is not bothered whether they support him or not)?
I really hate tribalists!!! These stupid chiefs think Zambia is theirs. I think its about time our constitution fixes the role of chiefs in a precise manner. The involvement of chiefs in politics marks the beginning of a “min Burundi” in Zambia. Supposed the chiefs from where Sata hails bars RB from entering their areas? Since chiefs can’t avoid tribal and partisan politics they should be barred from political involvement completely. If you really think beyond your nose you will see alot nonsense even in this Lamba shit that has been going on for sometime. Every Zambian has the freedom of choice therefore no one chief should impose a candidate on his subjects or even speak on their behalf in as far as elections are concerned. People lets rebuke tribalism of any form in every way…
Plot 1,tribal politics has moved to centre stage from the time GBM declared kasama bemba only area then the susquent fall out between Sata and Mwinelubemba. Next was Mpombo pretending to be the one who dipenses ‘the lamba’ vote to whoever he likes. Now its the Mambwe/Nkhosi ya makosi on Sata’s neck for his insults. Unfortunately all these 3 cases bear a common feature; the protagonist is always trying to oppose governement/MMD, rightly or wrongly is besides the point.

Correction: Mambwe is the name of the district. The chiefs are Kunda by tribe and the constituency is Malambo
STATE DEMANDS AN APOLOGY FROM SATA
Government has demanded that the Patriotic Front president Michael Sata apologise to the people of eastern province over his remarks that the tarring of the Chipata-Mfuwe Road will benefit the animals more than people.Chief Government spokesperson Ronnie Shikapwasha says it disappointing for a high profile politician like Mr Sata could resort to issuing such statements.Lt Gen Shikapwasha added that when government is carrying out various projects in the country, it is not selective because it regards all people as equal.
He says even people in rural areas such those living along the Chipata-Mfuwe road needs goods roads just like any other in the country.Lt Gen Shikapwasha says the PF leader should simply apologise to the people of eastern province who feel insulted by his statement.
If these chiefs read and re-read the article they will realize that Sata was not actually insulting them but actually speaking on their behalf. He was saying that the Chipata – Mfuwe road passed through an area is inhabited more by animals than people when there are roads even in Eastern Province that required more urgent attention and would serve the people’s interests better. What I find puzzling is that presumably intelligent people on this blog have not blog have not reflected on this before posting their blogs. Just where are we headed as intellectuals if we behave like this?
Chiefs stay out of politics, let your subjects be partizan not you or else you will have no respect like chitimukulu. Shut up.
Chiefs stay out of politics, let your subjects be partizan not you or else you will have no respect like chitimukulu. Muletusebanya imwe – Shut up.
off topic
To all soccer funs you can watch a Live Friendly match between Zambia and North Korea on My2p2.eu. Thank you
Guys, this statement invokes a very distinctive feeling of dejavu: “Chief Nsefu said Mr Sata should be chased”. This chaps are rooting for Kamwendo Munjila because this is clearly his trademark vocaburary during polls. As for Sata, its always in the home straight where he loses it. The people sorrounding him, including HH, must know how to control this rabid dog or else they are in for another rude whipping at the polls. You just cant have such an uncouth semi-illiterate barking stupid things all the time scaring away voters, chiefs, Chinese and now the whole entire Mambwe tribal clan. Banda and Sata are indeed bigoted ancient doodoos that shouold never see the inside of the corridors of state.
Under what piece of legistrature in accordance to Zambian constitution can these poor straken chiefs may ban an individual like Mr Sata not to enter Mambwe district as they have put it? They should not be mislead by RB and MMD folks, sata’s critics about this road was just to make RB realize that there more important and most used roads in Eastern province needed to be tarred than this Mambwe – Mfuwe road.
TWO Lamba-Lima chiefs have denied reports that the MMD Government has sidelined them and that those propagating such views are malicious people intending to ride on the chiefs and local people to satisfy their political egos.
And chiefs in Mpongwe District have pledged to work with the Government of the day and urged politicians to stop dragging them into partisan politics or personal differences which did not concern them and their subjects.
Here is another bunch of I.D.I.O.T.A.
Chieftainess Malembeka and Chief Kalunkumia of the Lamba-Lima said in separate interviews yesterday that chiefs in the area had no intentions of participating in partisan politics.
how can the all eastern province chiefs be affraid of one man from the north ,these chiefs are under some power hidden in the region certainly there must be some campain going on
They better sort themseves first before cobra sorts them out.
Why do some people tend to ignore the truth. Sata is loud mouthed and he knows that he will never be president of Zambia the more reason he behaves like that. His motive is to create confusion .(UKUFILILA MUNSENGA).If anything dear Zambians let us start looking elsewhere for a credible leader who will lead the country into meanigful development.Zambia has not seen real construction for the past 16 years. All the leaders that we have are just good at talking and stealing . The MP’s that we have are only in Parliament for one thing. GRATUITY.
Good for Sata, how can he be against everything? How can he say the road goes to the game park when they are people living there and they have never had a proper road. Did he mean these people are animals ans did no need a road?
zambia 4 south korea 2
Chiefs in Zambia are all so poor that they are now bootlicking mmd. To hell with them!!!!!!
So it’s a case of Mr. Sata’s statement being taken out of context and blown out of all proportion ? A case of the government spokesman misleading the chiefs by implying to them that they are being insulted?
Whatever the matter , chiefs are not really supposed to be involved in politics.
good on you mwata!! how refreshing. forget about losers who will always critize without any basis.
listen here, even countries with highly developed statistical / data systems still have questions surrounding their polls or statitistics. zambia statistics are still rudimentary, have been for ages but the important thing is the effort to utilize and make sense of them. again congratulations for this effort!!
Chief!chiefs!who are they 2 threaten 2 sort out some1 4 expressing his views over an issue.2 hell with them.
KALOS 2020,
You got every right to sympathise with sata and champion his cause under disguise but at the end of it you ought to know and understand that there is no revolution for change in zambia.the dynamics as at now are that HH with his alliance to the pact has switched southern province to MMD same as SATA with arogance over the rebels has switched luapula to the rebels.so read in between lines.
Political stooges, that’s what these so-called chiefs are.
Akapondo, thank for your high school level analysis. You have left the topic at hand. The road to were animals live has no economical apart from personal benefits for your uncle from chiparamba, RB. Discussing or arguing with some of you is like arguing with the kitchen table. Who puts a paved road to a game park. It is a game park for God’s sake! This is were animals live. This is not a city zoo. Banda is an imbecile and all you here know that. This is not about Sata, it is about those so called chiefs who are clad in animal attires while they say they are not animals. Probably even their wives are adorning animal lingeries. Get real nit wits. What is wrong supporting Sata when he has a point in his statement? Sata calls a spade a spade, not a large spoon. Learn to acknowledge.
There is only one chief/king in Zambia who has proved himself worthy, its the Litunga (i am not Lozi by the way), but from the way he reacts and acts and does things you can see that he is royal.
According to the University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers Union, lecturers are owed over K400 billion.
How much is this pea brain globetrotter president of yours spending on the road to a game park? These are facts and your so called president goes around flipping brown envelopes at every stop on his way to were animals live. People, wait for the MMD convention, that big headed small brain leader chiparamba via Mfuwe, will come out of the convention as the biggest loser. Ba Banda is chimbwi no plan. Every stop he directs the MoF to find funds for some development, how come this one he did not even ask the Minister to find funds? Rupiah Banda is worse than Nicolae Ceau?escu and Slobodan Milosevic combined. His demise will be the waste for a leader. Mr wako, ni wako.
Excellent Trigo. I admire that kingdom. The next is Kazembe. Very sober and respectable leaders.
Mwata you really displyed you ignorance on this blog. The largest number of voters are from Lusaka, Copperbelt and Southern and Northern is the fourth, and these are all pact strong-holds. Mwata your figures are not true and you are a big lier like your follower who cannot accept reality on the ground. If you think RB can win elections just with Eastern votes forget Eastern is the same as Central in terms number os registered voters. Remember Bembas make 43% of the population of zambia and they do not like Banda’s rule, what next come 2011.
What were Sata’s actual words?
To be fair to Mwata , the statistical analysis that he’s carried out above is beyond reproach . People may dispute the figures (whose source he has cited) , and that is their privilledge , but his method is essentially correct.
sad to say but RB is turning zambians against zambians.how come the bembas gave levy there vote despite them being called dirty, how come the chiefs never rose against levy.yet today every grouping has things to say.divide and rule is now the game.no man or woman must be allowed to divide zambia for any reasons.
Sick chiefs with no brains! Instead of discussing the high poverty levels of there subjects they are meeting to discuss Sata. Even if Sata gets zero votes from Eastern Province, other 8 provinces will vote for him. Even in 1990, the whole Eastern Province voted for KK . Did the old man win? He lost with a landslide. This is what will happen to Banda, he will get 95% in Eastern Province and score an average of 20% in other provinces.
Bloggers need to check the source of any article featured on blogs … this particular one is an excerpt from the Times of Zambia. So it is the MMD at work trying to twist what Max at postings #44 and 61 has ably explained.
You guyz, Sata has lost capability as a leader, he will never be the Republican president of Zambia. Sata’s late comments against anything for people of Zambia is putting him into red sport, Zambians now have realised that he is a fake leader, a leader of just hatred and insults, this is why Chit & Easterner Chiefs are taking action against him. There is no person in Zambia who is a Zambian by origin does not belong to any Chief. Sata must realise this faster than 2011, RB appologised to Litunga but to Cobra this is Useless. He is not a humble leader and will face the consquences in 2011.
Seems like other tribes have been dabbed tribalists while in fact this is only practiced in Eastern Province going by the results in 1991 and the UNIP votes thereafter. Or probably they are always behind as they support parties that are at the exit doors. #86, you bring up a very valid point. It seems people have failed to view MMD and Banda as UNIP that they are. KK did the same for 27 years until people took action. Banda not knowing an political tactics goes back to UNIP rule books of scare tactics and has brought back VIGILANTES killing people at Chisokone Mkt, remember William Banda? Meanwhile with his foolishness even promises title deeds to ZANAMA not knowing that markets are under the MoLG and properties of the councils of the area. What an imbecile he is.
This is ridiculous. Those chiefs aint got the right to do anything. RB 2011 OUT! No more ifi bantu fya fwasa imitwe
No matter what nyamasoya does to create hatred towards opposition be it Sata or others, its time for him to leave state house. We are tired, i hope this time we will vote wisely more especially us in villages that are easily taken coz of a sugar or chibuku that nyamasoya is giving to win our votes.
Does anyone know the condition of the cog-in-the-rigging machine, Dan Kalale? He was admitted to the UTH a couple of weeks ago but there has not been any update. The sooner he meets his maker, the better for the rest of the nation.
look in your passport OR NRC …your chiefs name is there..chiefs are very impotant..
Politics of POVERTY! ishi imfumu fikachasu na dobo!!!!how can they fix Sata…they should worry about the sticks they are in what the hell is happening in Zambia do we have men?or are they only men when they see the color of a panty?
The truth still stands, this road leads to a game park. There are more animals in that area than human beings. However, this does make the road of no economic and social importance
Has any of you Zambians heard of ku Malambo?you know who comes from there? Betty Kaunda and RB is a distant relation of Betty connect the dots you twits..
LT U SO USELESS EN THRS NO MEANING BNG BLOGA ON YO SIGHT.HOPE INTREGENT PIPO CN C THE U R ALWAYS BIAS ON SATA. U PRO MMD SPOSRD.UUUUUUSSSELEEEESSS
kalos2020..malete ahao!….you got NO brains you piece of shit. i respect people who respect other people’s views and not call them animals, eastern province is a tourist destination so development of roads is vital. people like you (and sata) are angry and useles to zambia, stay where you are, and by the way today’s politics in zambia is determined by all zambias..unlike olden days when its was lusaka and copperbelt provinces who determined who rules,,,,
no fighting
Its very unfortunate that even those chiefs do not understand the context in which those refered to statements were made. The president directed that project of constracting a road without parliament approval hence the money to be used in that project has not been budgeted for and yet there are projects that have been lagging behind yet they have been approved for and budgeted for but someone somewhere is misdirecting the funds for scuh projects. Please someone explain these issues to our chiefs who do not understand these procedures effectively. Soon or later people will be asked to account for the same projects they are directing and the chiefs will not even be there to defend you in court. The govt procedures must be followed to carefully even by the president.
Please chiefs, consult on these matters before you start hurting/hating for saying the right things. Its a pity that nobody in Eastern province can take the courage to explain these issues to the people there. RB will not be president forever, he will move and the same people you are trying to ban may one day be your political leaders then how do you work with them to bring development to your area? This is why every right thinking Zambian is calling on the chiefs to be non-partisan and stay away from politics.
#97 Thanks. Rupiah Banda and Mrs Betty Banda Kaunda are indeed close relatives. Do not be shocked by KK recent verbal ejaculations about Mpombo. Rupiah Banda is not MMD. He is a UNIP reincarnate wrapped in MMD S.H.I.T. Kaunda never condemn Rupiah. Together they are UNIP….Wamuyayayayaya!!!
‘The road will benefit animals more than people’ Since when did animals start using roads? Mr Sata has to educate the people why he believes animals will benefit from the road, do they drive or are their supplies brought in by road?
Mwata has exhaustively explained how numbers matter in politics and gorvernance. he has further exposed the lack of political strategist in the Pact. Those figures mwata has presented are facts and if we all agree to that then we must accept that Mr Sata is commiting political suicide with his rhetoric. If you want to argue with Mwata please give us figures then maybe we can see sence in what you are sayng. Mr sata must learn that pleasing a newspaper for the urban vote at the expence of the dreaded rural vote is not worth the risk.
All the talk from the Chiefs are MMD/Unip driven. We all know KKs ba pongoshi are from Mambwe and one of his sons was MP there for a long time. Road in towns are so bad and I wonder where these MMD chaps drive if they cant see Sata’s reasoning. Blind Blind deliberately.
Sata seems to be giving a lot of offensive statements or is he being quoted out of context. I feel is harming the PF and indeed the pact..De ja vu. this has nothing to do with where KK’s pongoshi are from it was a bad statement.
Chiefs my foot. These parasites must just continue begging. Anyway they are supporting their local team in the person of RB.
