Herve Renard has said is wary of wounded Cameroon.
Zambia face Cameroon on Sunday in Lubango in both sides penultimate Group D match in Lubango.
Gabon set the standard in Group D after beating Cameroon in the two sides opening Group D match in Lubango.
“It should be difficult because a Lion is wounded,” Renard said after the match.
Gabon beat Cameroon 1-0 through Daniel Cousin to give his side the three points.
Cameroon must now beat Zambia on Sunday at the same venue to keep their quarter final hopes alive.
Leaders Gabon face Tunisia in a match they should win to qualify to next weeks quarter finals with game to spare on a maximum 6 points.
And in the second kick-off at the same venue Zambia and Tunisia drew 1-1 courtesy of goals Jacob Mulenga and Zouhaier Dhaouadhi respectively.
If Cameroon is wounded then Chikolopelo??? Renard must do the job or quit. Cameroon is penetrable especially through R. Song
There is always next time for Zambia, so don’t worry.
Don’t worry we can do it.We usaully do better with strong teams. We can win.
#2 with due respect, but we are tired seeing Zambia coming back as a team that escorts other countries. We have been failing COSAFA, WORLDCUP, AFRICA CUP of NATIONS so the “next time” theory is out! We spend too much money feting these guys, making them sleep in 5 star Hotels whilst they await a loss. Maybe we try booz drinking competition if we can not arrest the current trend.
You can do it guys don’t be scared. The wounded lion must die …. go Chipolopolo Boys … kill the wounded lion – that’s what bullets are meant for.
Nothing will be acceptable other than a win or else Renard and Kalusha should quit.
just thump the wounded old Lions. We’ll cheer you on.
Umwenso iwe ka Renard!
We have beaten Cameroon before and even this time we can as long as we do not gift them any goals as we did the previous CAN.
Good afternoon
The most exciting thing about football is that the game lasts 90 minutes in which everything is possible. The ball is quite small compared to the mouth of the goal and yet the scores are not easy to come by. One wrong pass can either revive the wounded Lion or bury it…we shall see. Go Zambia go!
90 minutes were created for such tough situations. My Cameroon wife has just told me that in most of the villages in her home country people are scared more of Zambia than any team in Africa.
please take it easy, things are not easy in their camp
I miss the days when Zambia used to struggle against small teams but would brush aside big teams like Cameroun with contempt. VIVA MOI ZAMBIE
number 8,,,wen did we beat cameroun???wen days of kk11,,the jack chandas days not now,,i wudnt worry too much about the game,,,just seat quietly and watch coz we have no hope in hell of winning,,simple language,,WE ARE USELESS…!!!OUR PLAYERS ARE BUNCH OF DRUNKARDS!!!except for a few,,,the coach has no idea wat he is doing experimenting in afcon,,,our players cant compete in europe coz de cant communicate properly,,they cant speak proper english,,
Renard…..don’t forget it is my tax that is sending you there. That should motivate you to win
we need players like robert earnshawa,,the whitlley boys who got off the net,,,we must find more players who have roots in zambia,,give them citizensship and they will jump at prospect of playing for their mother or father land or grandfather land whichever the case is,,i am sure they are many plaayers in the 2nd and 3rd tier of english premier league and also maybe in mls..time to swallow our pride and introduce dual nationality which is only going to benefit us,,,Come back zambia Come back!!!!
We can only hope for the best, wounded or not they are just a team like any other. This Cup has produced shockers, Malawi thrushing Algeria, Gabon beating Cameroon, so why not the Zambian team, dont aim to draw aim for a win, when it fails then you can draw, good luck Zambia, we supporting you 150%.
The funny thing is other countries still fear Zambia but we are a shadow of our former selves we should be getting confidence from that
why dont people use the chat feature? everytime i log in am there by myself tamwaishuba ifyofibomba
This HR iz the biggest joke Zambia haz ever had for a coach. Even the infamous Buckard Zieze had an idea of what he wanted to do. Footbo iz 90 minutes and obviously the team that takes its chances will carry the day. Go boiz goal.
i even turned my cam on
Memories of that 6-1 thrashing 2 yrs ago by Cameroun are still fresh mwe.
Ala bane na ba Rena bayamba umwenso kanshi mbesuma ni worse.
Nomba mwe ba Coach mwasakamana, nga fwe ma FANS, YABA!!!
NO. 14 i agree with you 100%.Dual nationality is the way forward.Look at the teams at this year ‘s afcon like ivory cost, mali and others,Drogba, kanoute and others all played for the french team and now they are representing africa.Even the musonda boys we need them, they should not play for belgium.
The NCC must spead up the constitutional making process they are holding the development of the country back especially with regards to football.Dual nationality is the way forward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they lion is wounded, my advice to Zambia is to aim for the wound, that way the lion will die faster. Add salt to injury bane… you can do it!
not jus aimin for the wound….kill the wound all over..then salt if fully!!!!! then rub…we dont need the sorry sight where the lion even wen wounded is equally strong….
Zambia will surprise you all. They will win this game and amaze everyone.
1.0 The coach has no confidence in his players. He should resign on his own after AFCON. Out of 12million people in Zambia, Renard has failed to find 11players to field in against Lions. This is a disgrace. I should hear that Chipolopolo are wounded after a draw. That is a positive thinking that talking of other teams.
2.0 Kalu should go as well. Simata should lead FAZ so that Zambia can do better. Kulu should remain as deputy because HR of FAZ is not right.
You cant have a coach who is so afraid of another team. Doesn’t he know that his comment has the comment to instill fear in his players? Every time, I watch Cameroon, I maverl because the guys are too huge and they normally have problems when they meet a team that is too fast, with accurate passes. For those of you who can’t remember, let me tell you Zambia has beaten Cameroon before….3.0 at the Independence Stadium. It should be in 1998 if my memory serves me right but you can get more details if you check with FAZ for details. So its not like we have not beaten them before. Sometimes history repeats itself. Just support the boys….they can do it.

Gentlemen, hold your horses, the coach is playing a psycological war fare. we have to give the impression that we are scared of Camerron so that they underestimate us. In advanced nations they engage in war of words, Ferguson, Arsene Wenge, Murinho etc they all do it. You need to un settle your opponent before the game. Giving Cameroon false hope is what Renard is doing.
Iwe HR ninshi you don’t know how substitute ka? that Zambian clown “MBOLA” was all over the place forgetting his position. why didn’t you remove him? coz frankly the boy didn’t know what he was supposed to do in that match.
I think he was unfairly quoted. There’s no way someone can just say, “It should be difficult because a Lion is wounded,” FULL STOP! He must have said much more than this.
The fact that Cameroon is wounded, if I may borrow HR’s words, is in fact, an advantage to Chipolopolo boys because they will be under massive pressure to win and in the process they are likely to make a lot of mistakes which our team can capitalise. All what the boys need is maximum concentration on the ball. Cameroon will aim at an early goal but if Chipolopolo boys can avoid that the better. The defense will have to be very alert and solid and we need a maximum flexibility in the midfield to sustain the movement of the game upfront. The guys need support. Angola is already behind us and therefore, Zambian diehard soccer funs should rally behind the team. The way I see it, Zambia has more than 50% chances of getting to the next round having avoided a defeat from Tunisia
Zambia….lets remove our calculators and do what we now best….calculating our chanses of going through!!
Iwe Renard, why ichintinya, you want to demoralize abaice instead of encouraging them.
if the coach is worried what about the players…..these days there are no under dogs in football, anything can happen. i mean Cameroon is just like any other team capable of being beaten. lets not look at the past too much because the future changes. and Zambia is not going to play the name Cameroon but soccer with Cameroon….the lion will be shot dead by chipolopolo….GO ZAMBIA GO………ati iyeeee chipoloplooooooo))))))))))))))))))))))
Creative….to tell you the truth i fumble every time i want to use the faciity…need some tuition indeed
well, why shud the coach warry? this means he does not trust his team and has no hope for them. apparently it seems he doesn’t know that we are the copper bullets, we can easily shoot the wounded lion and leave it dead for ever.
fellas, dont expect too much.alway remember this fellow blogar to help you avoid bp.any team can win afcon.malawi……?just accept that football is a game were you win and lose’
If our coach knows that the lion is wounded then he should be more careful than he was against tunisia.By this i don’t mean defending only but also catching them lions on the counter attacks at the same time making sure the defence is ALERT until the final whistle.GO CHIPOLOPOLO!!!!!!!!
#1 uli chikollopo iwe wine. In the game of soccer either team can win. What you should know is that in any physical performance you can not achieve the same result as the last.As for now we can only pray and hope that Zambia can o better than the last time.
Playing an open game to teams like cameroon is inviting trouble , all we can do is maintain our pace ,strenghten defence and catch them when they become complacent.
Usually we lose games on counter attacks , the reason our 3 and 2 should not be overlapping unnessarilly.
Very interesting comments. Bloggers, you really make my day. Have a pleasant weekend.
The lion is not only wounded but dying ! the chipolopolo boys only have to put the last nails in the coffin . and that zambian coach is really a waste of space . how can he wet his pants just bcoz of the prospects of facing cameroon and yet there are more powerful teams out there . he is a sort of commander who loses the war b4 the first bullet is fired . So ,come out u chap !..under that table… and lead ur team with ur head above the shoulders .” he says i have to watch that cameroon dvd again????” how many times ? can someone help him plse ..his deputy maybe . meanwhile ,bury the dead chipolopolo . just go out there and finish the job gabon started otherwise they will put u on the plane again like in 2008 . Its time to get something back from the dying lion .
zambia will carry the day .go zambia,go.the africa cup would long have been called the camerron cup but as long as it is africa cup ,any african country like tanzania can win.
