The MMD in Chibombo district has challenged professor Clive Chirwa who claims to be former MMD member to state the branch in Katuba constituency from which he joined the party.
Chibombo MMD chairperson Lloyd Kayeka said at rally in Chisamba yesterday that it was not true that Prof. Chirwa was a member of the party in Katuba constituency in the district.
Speaking before vice president George Kunda addressed the rally at Chisamba grounds, Mr. Kayeka charged that Prof. Chirwa was a liar who could not prove his claims because no party register in Katuba constituency carried his name.
He called upon Mr. Chirwa to be honest and tell the nation which party he belonged to instead of insinuating that he was an MMD member.
‘Your honour that man (Prof. Chirwa) is a liar. We do not know him at all. These are the people who enter through a window and we did not see him,’ he charged.
Mr. Kayeka challenged Prof. Chirwa to also name the person who entered him into the party register so that the person could also prove to the party that he (Chirwa) was once an MMD member.

so that card he flashed was a fake one? we all know the tactics of MMD, mean while we very much know that when he was giving you money to campaign for MMD in the nchanga seat which fell vacant when chimumbwa resigned from PF, he was very much your member. now mwamukana. anyway he is already out and i bet he is a man of principle who cannot continue quarreling while he has some duties to ensure BMW makes a comfortable car.

what does it really take to be an mmd member? isnt it just a matter of buying a card and paying a prescribed fee
some challenging questions, i personally dont even know the person who entered my name for my REG, Man number,and voters card so why shud this Kayeka think he equally knows who entered him. we saw the card prof chirwa showed to the camera and unless he went to matero to forge it then it will be a crime but he went on to show us the reciept of card renewal and again he was dreaming up things then we will believe you but mwanyanya ba Mwadya Mweka Dull party

Now is the time to make progress and forget about Dr Clive Chirwa who is now a mighty UPND member.

Prof Chirwa joined MMD a couple of years ago and declared his intention to run for MMD presidency. Those little frightened men in MMD got scared and started to frustrate him. They came up with funny excuses as to why he could not content the top post, ‘you are new in the party, you have not lived in Zed for sometime bla bla bla, you know the petty issues that happen in our country. He was even disowned in his own constituency. Prof Chirwa had decided to Join the Pact through UPND and he is prepared to serve the pact in any capacity. The rest is history..

To say Prof Chirwa was not a member of MMD and make this an issue is just f.oo.lish. However, what I think is important is that by changing parties just because you will not be adopted to be presidential candidate and join another party where you are ready to serve in any capacity is equally flat. I think Professor Chirwa has just kissed his political ambitions goodbye by this decision – especially as it looks, the Pact will lose next year.
I have mate Professor Chirwa on three occasions in Lusaka and Ndola. Our last meeting was just this January at Ndola airport. I found open minded and can be a great asset to Zambia. His ability to embrace and promote the unemployed, uneducated and the poor has never been done by any leader. He speaks from his heart and he is genuine. He showed me his MMD card and some renewal receipts. But as continued talking he told me that he might be quiting the MMD because of corruption, not doing anything for the people of Ndola and Zambia. I told him to keep fighting, but he said he might join another party. I told him to create his own. He refused that he was not desperate for power but wnated to help the zambian people. When i read his resignation i could not beleive my eyes. He was a full MMD.
