VJ is back...President Banda introduces Parliamentary Chief Whip Vernon Mwaanga to the people of Mwanachingwala area in Mazabuka

The ruling MMD in Mazabuka has encouraged President Rupiah Banda to continue holding meetings with chiefs in Southern Province to change the negative perception which people have about the ruling party.

MMD District Vice chairperson, Takawira Mahere told ZANIS in Mazabuka yesterday that President Banda’s meeting yesterday’s has confirmed how popular the MMD in the area.

Mr Mahere said the President’s visit to Mazabuka should be used as a pilot campaign programme on how to canvass and woo potential voters to vote for the ruling party in next year’s elections.

He said President Banda should continue visiting chiefs in the province because that is the only sure way of winning back the support that ruling party had lost to the opposition.

Meanwhile, Mr Mahere has commended President Banda for directing Commerce minister, Felix Mutati to address the concerns raised by the Mazabuka Business Association following an alleged unfair and biased awarding of contracts by Zambia Sugar Company to contractors.

He said the directive by the President has cheered the party because it has just demonstrated the commitment he has in promoting the growth of Small and medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs).

Mr Mahere said SMEs need the support of government if they are to improve and contribute to the growth of the country’s economy.

He said the MMD strongly supports the awarding of contracts to the members of the Mazabuka Business Association and not individuals.

Mr Mahere also commended Zambia Sugar Company for signing a contract with the business association to provide goods and services.

He however warned that the ruling party will not tolerate any individual that will interfere in the awarding of contracts by the company.

  1. Did you hear the one about . .
.the King Cobra Sata (nigger) who went to heaven and got his wings? He said, “God! Look! I’m an angel!”, and God said, “No you stupid nigger! You’re a bat, now eff off!”

  2. They eat your food and then ran away from you showing the pact symbols when you were at Chief Mwanachingwala’s Palac:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:o:o:o:o:o:o

  3. Bwezani, you are wasting your time in the southern province. The MMD shall never win a single consituency in the musanza till they change their ways. Souherners hate Corruptions and cheaters. Just concentrate in those areas where they can easily accept your bribes and promises for VP. Basa, continue attending those MMD bribing meeting, eat their food and leave smiling waiving one of the PACT simple. good show. You made my Day

  4. This strategy MMD is using is not only unprofessional but also potentially dangerously and intimidating. From experience we ve seen that politics in Zambia is not tolerant. Wards, constituencies and districts that have previously voted against the ruling party have been systemically punished with funding and support from govt denied them. The ruling party would go to all lengths to make sure that the elected officials in such areas fail by deliberately manipulating govt institutions.

The visit by the prez in person to chiefs will place them in direct firing line should the result in such chiefdoms go against the ruling party, and if the win, such chiefdoms risk being punished by denying them development.

Lets rather leave chiefs more as independent economic influencers than political

  5. Who the HELLL is this Takawira Mahere? Where did he come to direct the Zedians on what to do? Does he think this is Zim and he can use Mugabe’s tactics? I say abash to this divisive muzwakule, muswamashi, mwisa!!!!

  6. Here comes the crooks again! If Zambians start listening to these crooks then we re done for. ITS TIME FOR CHANGE. RB the tribalist is not even ashamed of himself.:-@

  7. Eeeeeeeeeeeeh!!! Banda keeping wasting your time on Southern Province. You do not have the muscle to buy us. We thrive on merit which we do not see in you. VIVA pact, VIVA HH, VIVA the Cobra.

  8. This is probably the worst President Zambia has ever come up with. There is no doubt that he is inept & will do anything to cling on to power no matter what it takes. Unfortunately for RB & his Dr Kafupi they will be disappointed come 2011. He may try to give as many handouts & brown envelops but at the end of the day you can’t hide the suffering that ordinary men, women & children in Zambia have had to grapple & deal with on a daily basis for the past 40years. The thing is the opposition needs to be rallying itself & go to convention now before MMD. That way, they will have the mandate of their part members & go on a countrywide campaign. They seem to be playing into the trap MMD has put for them…

  9. Mahere what are you talking about , you failed as a DA for monze when Bates namuyamba appointed on a silver plate. why dont you go back to Zim so that you can mobilize the chiefs to vote for Mugabe.

  11. On what grounds do people in Southern provice vote? What made MMD lose in Southern Province? What will make UPND, PFor other parties to win the province instead of MMD.

What are the issues on the hearts of people in Southern province. What are the competing solutions proposed by the various political parties? Who is got the best plan to meet the needs of the people in Southern province?

  12. UPND is rapidly loosing grip of S/Province. RBs visit to Mazabuka addressed alot of pressing issues affecting the locals, such as sidelining of the local SMEs by Zambia Sugar, the unfair purchase price of sugarcane from the Cane Farmers, the inside trading by senior employees of Zambia Sugar/ Illovo, the need to upgrade the local hospital to General Hospital, etc. By staying away from these important meetings UPND is rendering itself irrelevant and Mwanachingwala is seen to be more concerned with peoples welfare.

  13. 🙂 amajokes no# 1 that’s not funny if you knew your history then you would know that Jesus has black ancestry in his bloodline. God hid Christ in Africa when the europeans and Persians were beings murderous carnivores. Jesus loves all people including Sata as beautifully black as the PF leader is. On this topic, the president should not fratinise with cheifs let him visit the masses that need enlightment on the Path needed for this nation.
