Sinazongwe councilors back Hakainde

Share

Sinazongwe District Councilors have dispelled the allegation that they have ditched United Party for National Development (UPND) because of their party President Hakainde Hichilema’s entering into a pact with Patriotic Front Party (PF).

Speaking on behalf of the Councilors, Partson Mangunje told Zambia News and Information Service (ZANIS) in Sinazongwe that no councilor has left the party.

Mr Mangunje who is also Nkanddabwe ward Councilor said the party has a strong foundation in the district and there was no way they could ditch it after working hard to earn the support from people.

He said the Councilors were ready to manhandle the person that issued the statement in one of the Daily papers claiming that all the 14 councilors were planning to leave the party because of its alliance with PF.

Mr Mangunje said the statement was wrong because among the 14 councilors in the district 12 were for UPND, one is an independent councilor while the other one belongs to the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD).

The Nkanddabwe ward councilor disclosed that all the councilors in the district have already paid for their travel expenses to go to Lusaka for the launch of the UPND/PF PACT.

“How can people that have already paid the money to go and launch the PACT decide to leave the party with no apparent reason, the person who issued the statement wanted to cheat the public but we will not rest until we get him. That was just propaganda us we are intact,” Mr Mangunje said.

He said all the councilors were for UPND and they could not reverse their decisions.

The UPND Councilors on Sunday spend the whole day in Maamba Township to wait for their Member of Parliament to address them over the statement that was issued that all the UPND Councilors have rejected the PACT and Hichilema.

  1. HH ACCUSED OF BETRAYING THE PRINCIPLES OF UPND

United Party for National Development Member of Parliament Major Robbie Chizyuka has charged UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema is betraying the principals upon which the party was formed.

He says UPND under its late President Anderson mazoka was a formidable political party which Mr. Hichilema is allegedly destroying the party.

  2. Major Chizyuka has also disclosed that he regrets that he championed the campaign for Mr. Hachilema to be elected UPND president after the demise of Mr. Mazoka.

He says the people on the grass root even in southern province have lost faith in UPND leadership.

Major Chizyuka says Mr Hichilema will remain a leader of a few people at the National Management Committee but the grassroots is not in support of that leadership.

And Major Chizyuka has disclosed that the true Anderson Mazoka spirit will be revived and UPND will once more be a formidable political Party.

  3. MMD INTACT AND WILL WIN 2011 ELECTIONS- VJ

Veteran politician and chief Parliamentary Venom Mwaanga says the ruling Party is intact and there is no doubt that it will win next year’s presidential elections.

And commenting on accusation by the UPND-PF pact officials that MMD is panicking because of the Pact, Mr. Mwaanga laughed before saying there is no aorta of truth in their statements.

He says to the contrary MMD is not panicking because it knows that the Pact will crumble before the elections.

  4. The self proclaimed elections strategist added that the Constitution and the Ideologies of the Patriot front and that of the United Party for National Development are different and the two cannot stand together.

He further vowed that MMD shall continue tearing apart the pact saying even the pact is busy telling lies about the ruling party.

  5. Its true that most members of UPND want to join the ruling party because of poor leadership of the opposition MPs and HH. The Sinazongwe councillors cant remember when they last saw their MP. Those councillors will join RB before the launch of the pact. HH must talk to CHIZYUKA otherwise UPND is finished.

  6. Imwe a Banda no.8 speak for yourselves from eastern, Tribalist (tizamutundilani) and you “kuku”, ask ba tswana what kuku really means and we shall then talk. the PACT is the only outlet for ZED period!

  7. Africans resembles i guess. esp with geographical closeness. Chiluba resembles Pigmies in Ituri forest and that dead Omar Bongo…I cant gigure out yet who Sata Resembles. How about akulu Mpuno..His son Henry looks handsome, maybe thats the replica of rupiya in his hay days.

  8. MMD IS TAKING ZAMBIA TO THE GRAVE. THERE IS NO DEVELOPMENT IN OUR COUNTRY. DURING KK ZAMBIA WAS CLEAN. IF YOU GO TO THE COPPERBELT THIS TIME YOU CAN CRY. I WONDER WHY CHILUBA IS MAKING SO MUCH NOISE AND YET IS THE ONE WHO HAS DESTROY ZAMBIA. HOW CAN A BORN AGAIN TO NDOLA AND START BUYING PEOPLE CHIBUKU AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A MAN GOD. CHILUBA IS JUST HIDDING IN THE WORD OF GOD. IF HE REALLY A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN HE SHOULD REPENT FOR FOR TAKING SOMEONE’S WIFE. AND YOU SEE PASTORS WHO KNOWS THE TRUTH SUPPORT HIM BECAUSE THEY NEED MONEY FROM HIM. INSALA AMA PASTORS PA ZED

  9. #14, do not mention KK, WE ALSO WENT THROUGH Hell with him. So, do not just mention his name- He never developed nothing apart from ”ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION’

  10. LOL. KK never developed anything. FTJ never developed anything. LPM never developed anything. RB is not developing anything. Is this really true?

There must be something we have that colonialists never left. How about number of schools, colleges and universities.

The copperbelt has gone down with the mines, just like football in Zambia has gone down with the mine – all due to privatisation. ZCCM took care of its people and environment. Some of us worked for ZCCM so we know it all. Current mine owners dont do for society what Zccm did, that’s why mine towns are deplorable now, including mine football teams and hence Zambia national team.

Fellow Zambians, let’s not be forgetful.
