Emmanuel Mbola has returned home after his much publicized trial to Tottenham Hotspurs.

The player arrived on Wednesday morning in Lusaka and dispelled reports he had signed a 1 million UK Pound deal with Spurs.

It is however, not clear when or if the player will return to his Armenian club Pyunik Yerevan whom he joined from division 1 north club Mining Rangers of Kitwe.

Mbola spent two days training with both the Spurs first and second teams.

LT’s efforts to reach him or his Zambian manager for comment were unsuccessful.

  1. Its good that Mbola is back,I hate that Tottenham Coach for what he did to Mbesuma.Harry Rednap finnished and chased Mbesuma.never gave him chance. And that stupid Rednapp even fools us by pretending that he doesnt even know Zambia by mentioning Angola.Englishmen are stupid and foolish, how can they know Angola and not Zambia from where they stole our Copper from?.

  2. Try Japanese league mwaiche wandi, it is also lucrative. Harry Rednapp is not the best coach, remember what he did to shake shake boy at Portsmouth.

  3. I spoke to the head comms, Simon, in the press office at the club yesterday and they have cetogorically denied signing Mbola, it it mere transfer speculation- possibly fuelled by a newspaper or an ambitious agent. Think about it, if it is not on THPFC’s website, then it probably isn’t true. Lusaka Times, you need to start doing your homework instead of the “cut and paste” culture you’re adopting. If a layman like myself can take the initiative to call the club’s press office and actually speak to the head of comms at THPFC, then I’m sure you in the industry can do better. Get your act together, stop reporting rumours, check out the legitimacy of your sources and start reporting facts!!! We would like to see our own (Mbola) do well, but comeon don’t bull**** us please!!!

  4. I am not a Spurs fan, but I think Harry Redknapp’s record as a manager speaks for itself. I too was happy that Mbesuma had signed for Pompey in August 2005. But when he made his debut, he just wasn’t up to premiership standard. The good news for Mbesuma is that there are a lot of stars out there playing for top sides that did not do well in the English league, but went on to do well eslewhere. However, in Mbesuma’s case it was not even a case of blowing hot and cold, just nothing,he just was not good enough (and we all wonder why he didn’t get to play in the Africa cup?). Moreover, his is now proving his critics right with his current form or lack of it.

  5. Mbola will return to Tottenham and finish off the remaining days of his ten day trial. Problem is only Lusaka Times is your source of information! Diversify!

  6. #7 chisha mwamba
why do you blame ba LT .the problem is that your brain is too small to understand how ba LT conduct their business.LT gathers news that emanates from other media houses and paste them on there site so that you people give your opinions on the issues that are in public domain.so my friend that’s how LT and zambian watchdog operate.equally they get opinions from different authors and paste them.i hope waumfwa

  7. A lot of miserable black racists on LT! Just don`t go to their country and stop worshiping them when they come to Zambia!:d:

Your president is busy in choncho land eating lizards instead of visiting the disaster area in Lusaka.

Just accept a black man will always dance to a white man`s tune!

  8. #7 Chisha Mwamba wesu, tata balatekanya, don’t shoot the messenger. Yes you are right LT should do more to report, however, I’m sure you know that managers or indeed websites don’t jump to publishing all signings. I hope you are not one of those bent on killing LT platform by being negative through and through. LT lets us comment freely on every single post. If you feel you can do a better job than LT we will be glad to see your work. Be mindful that starting a news website is one thing sustaining it is yet another. For once why don’t we help LT progress by being positive, if you feel you have access to more accurate info I believe LT would be glad to correct the posts. Don’t just shoot LT, contribute in a constructive manner by adding value to the discussions.

  9. Number 13,

You’re out of order. There’s nothing racist about the Mbola story, comeon, the “race card” is old now.

    Totally out of order.

  10. LOL. The English Premier League is full of players who are black. A lot of them are from Africa and they are making good money. If a player is good enough, he will play. Mbesuma may not have been good enough. Harry had a lot of African players and other black players at Portsmouth. He also has them at Spurs. Lets not use the “race card” as # 14 advised.

In English football, performance and results are what matters. That’s why Arsenal can field a team with no English man among them. It’s business. If the English are not good, they dont play. Same goes with any nationality or race.

The same applies to football managers.

  11. Some bloggers are easily driven by emotions when commenting on issues. Like #14 has observed, I don’t understand how racism comes about in Mbola’s situation. If you take a careful look at the premiership you will notice that the majority of players are foreigners and most of them black. We do not know exactly why Mbola was sent back home and common sense tells me that before he travelled to the UK Spurs knew he was black. Come on, be realistic!

  12. A very big contrast from what was posted when they said he had signed and i even questioned the manager because he was the same person who signed Mbesuma. Everyone was full of praise.
This is football lets wait and see what happens

  13. Political cadres
Why dont you post your comments on this good things? Mulatuchita erritate us who are self dertamined

  14. Sad that so much hype was created over nothing. In any case we can only wish this Mbola guy the best for the future. He is the right age and definitely got talent!Remember there is no smoke without fire bu be warned young man you must remain a disciplined student of the game or else…A comment about ba Harry.Surely how can you not know Zambia, lie about ignorance of Mbola at WHL but to go and mention Angola?Scares me that Mbola may end up with him.Watch out!!! About Mbesuma, I beg to differ that ba Harry had a role to play in his demise.I would rather blame the loser predecessor to ba Harry, the frenchman Allan Perrin.I though he was best suited to help Mbesuma as is the chap that signed him on form chiefs. For me ba Harry had a point to prove and Mbesuma was not one of those to help him.

  15. Not to worry, folks. The boy is still young and his destination is wide open. Tottenham is not the only Premier Club on the outlook for young professional players.

  16. Well, i dont see anythng racial here, its an issue of skill folks if the boy is gud, he wu taken on just like all the other negroids in the premiership. All the best

  17. Harry pls have him he’s the next reberto carlos I promise evey fan likes him becuz he’s so good he is so good he’s called a wonderkid only 16 but got class and the power. To fustrate right wingers compare him to ur left deffenders ask ur team how he is and if he has a lot of poteniol

  18. I blame LT,they should do a bit of research, this story was in the NEWS of the World and the twitchy old git(rednapkin) even mistakes Angola for Zambia,he only trained with the academy and certainly not the first team
#13 get a life, how does racism come into this, sometimes i tend to think us blacks are the worst racist anand hide behind our skins for our own failures

    newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/738797/SPURS-WIN-RACE-FOR-AFRICAN-PROSPECT.html

  19. Mbola is being mis-managed already. He went for a proffesional career and now he is back in un-explained circumstaces. What goes on with our players and their managers? I thought the English league will be be more intresting with Mbola lining up against my team Chelsea. Now the hope seem to be dashed.
Lets not have another Mbesuma Saga. The pipo managing Mbola must ensure the correct thing is done, the guys sticks in Europe and mint big bucks for himself whislt there. We dont want the young talent to be dumped in South Africa and forgotten.

  20. Why are people blaming Harry Redknaap for finishing Mbesuma’s career??? The guy had a chance to redeem himself in Portugal elo afilwa. Look at Dennis Bergkamp for example. He playedd for Inter and was a flop but when he played for Arsenal he was a hit. The onus always lies with the player and not the coach. Mbesuma alibe discipline chabe. However as for Mbola, please dont take this as a failure in your career its just a speed hump mwaiche ukose fye! I love your football.

  21. LT how did Mbola train with the first and second teams when Harry Redknaap is saying he does not know or ever seen him.

LT why don’t you get the correct story from Mbola hinself since he is in the Country.

  22. uyu mbolo nayena, let him just stay home first and mature and then go abroad. lessons should be learnt from mbesunya. once this little boy sees avasungu, he will go on a rampage bane, these white women bane mu bedroom nizeee, he will forget reason he went there. sme of us these women we grew up with them bane. but i understand ama zambians who have not travelled, too much exprerimenting deuces bane:)>-
