  1. MMD refutes Magande harassment report

MMD national secretary Katele Kalumba has dismissed as false media reports that former Minister of Finance and National Planning Ng’andu Magande was harassed at the ruling party’s card renewal.

Dr Kalumba said the party does not entertain violence of any form.He said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that if Mr Magande was harassed in any way, he should lodge an official complaint to his office.

  2. “As national secretary of the party, I didn’t see anyone being beaten, insulted or threatened by party cadres. All I know is that there were a lot of cadres who were excited to see many people defecting to the ruling party. There was noise, yes, because there were a lot of cadres, but there was no violence and threats of that nature,” he said.

Dr Kalumba urged the media to be professional in their work.

  3. “I don’t want to comment further on this matter because I don’t want to be part of the lies that are being peddled,” he said.

Dr Kalumba was reacting to an article carried by The Post newspaper in which it was reported that Mr Magande was harassed by cadres in the presence of President Banda during the 2010 card renewal at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka on Saturday.

  4. Which election can Magande win? he fraudulently won the Chilanga seat%-(%-(%-(%-(.Now for Sikota Wina, this man he been confined to zambia because of his drug activities. He his clinging to MMD for personal benefit thats all:-t:-t:-t:-t:-t:-t

  5. Politics can never be clean whenever certain individuals are involved. A hostile press also muddies the waters. This was seen clearly when the whole progressive world was roting for Obama and a certain media house was duigging up as much ‘murk’ as it could find. When there was nothing, they were apt to take someone’s words from their mouths and twist them in the headline. Now that is what we see in Zambia. Journalists know that 90% of people only read the headline. The dirty politics involves infiltration and counter infiltration of political parties. Every leader should be careful about what they say to cadres, because there are infil-traitors among them.

  6. When you know that in 20 years time you will not be there and Zambia will still remain you tend to be callous and careless. I wonder why this is so? I mean look at the people busy seeing to ti that this country perpetually stays in the Mud; it’s the old folks. The likes of Banda, Shikapwasha, Munkombwe and Now even Sikota has joined the troop.
I am almost compelled to suggest that we should have an age cap for public officers.

  7. Now that Magande is praising the achievements of the MMD under RB leadership what is he saying about his interests for the presidency? What failures is he going to use to decampaign RB?…..some people thought Magande was indispensable….forgeting that zambia has a lot of qualified individuals….
