The united party for national development UPND Vice President Richard Kapita has charged that it is clear that the people in Mufumbwe have rejected the ruling movement for multi party democracy.
Mr. Kapita says that no amount of intimidation and vote buying will make the people vote for the MMD as the UPND/PF pact has taken over the area.
He says that the MMD know that they have lost the votes and are now resorting to accuse the PACT of the breaking the electoral of conduct.
He says that accusations that the UPND/PF pact was allegedly buying cattle for the people Mufumbwe are misplaced adding that it is a known fact that the party has been practicing clean politics.
He says that it is the reason why the MMD and its party president Rupiah Banda have been panicking in vigorously campaigning for its candidate.
Mr. Kapita predicted that the PACT will get more votes than the previous elections that were held in Solwezi central.
He also said that the MMD is in trouble in the Milanzi constituency as the patriotic front has gained ground in making sure that they scoop by elections.
He further explained that that the people of Zambia are tired, and they now want change of leadership, and only the PACT will offer the country’s solutions.
QFM
Good luck. Change is inevitable.
I told Rupiah that we should not do away with the legacy of Levey Mwanawasa , you see now their we are now confined to Eastern province .After my gratruity I will join UPND full stop.
You said that about Solwezi Central and so it was done,i have a very good reason to believe you=d>=d>=d>
Healthy tribal xenophobia is still the order of the voting pattern in most if not all of Zambia’s rural constituencies and for one, I can never see how a party headed by Zondwe Sata can beat one headed by Banda in Milanzi constituency, especially given the fact that both candidates are called Banda. The winner is surely going to be Banda Banda, not Sata Banda.
No basis for his prediction, just some reference to ‘the electorate have rejected the MMD’, just how did his empty comments make it to news?
If Pact wins Mufumbwe then HH should be adopted as candidate for the Pact because then UPND would have proved to have a national charecter. PF won the kasama bye election while HH won the Solwezi one, PF further lost the Chitambo seat in central province. The kasama seat is definately insignificant to Sata just as the milanzi is to Rupiah. The question being posed is which party can win an election outside its tribal circles? the is where HH is doing fine having won the solwezi and now taking Mufumbwe as Sata looses milanzi the same way he lost Chitambo.
Engines, stop worrying yourself about who stands for the pact, its not rocket science, no one will stand as pact presidential candidate. The 2 chaps both have inflated egos and they are both standing, no doubt about it, and thats how rupaih will trounce them both.
Gapa’agapa
I think you right. looks like the same UDA story.
ECZ will be announcing ballot results on April 30, 2010. Just keep campaigning in Zambia’s most transparent and mature democracy where all competitors enter the race with equal opportunity and expectation. The best and onlyy best you can do poor minded Kapita is appreciate that MMD has brought mature and functional democracy with an electoral system you are have such unquestionable confidence of winning through. Us who are outside with the opportunity on the international fora all we need to be doing is keep selling our country positively thatZambia is not only a pioneer nation in sub-sahara Africa, but practically a successful democracy whose electoral system gives even feeble and titular opposition parties such confidence of winning given elections. Congrats and good lucky in democracy.
We patriotic Zambians and indeed the international community monitoring your confidence will hold you a sore loser should you respect the outcome on April 30, 2010. Hope there are dividends for the massive “manifeast” you have extended to the people in cow meat. Hope this meatilization of Mufumbwe is sustainable and will live on. From us its good lucky because un intelligent speculations are not integral in our deductions of things.
# :-@and 10, so you think being in the diaspora is passport enough to command a stake in a rubbish govt, man wake up, they is nothing more pleasible than paying allegience to the right and probable cause , who doesnt know you ba vateran, even your survival there is dependant on the MMD.You are the same people who turnish our stance as real vaterans in society in fact change your name man it doesnt apply
We will crush pact -RB
PRESIDENT Banda has declared that the PF-UPND pact will suffer a crushing defeat in next year’s elections.
And the Kuomboka ceremony organising committee has said President Banda is at liberty to wear whatever attire he feels comfortable in when attending the ceremony.
Mr Banda said whether or not the PF and UPND go into the elections as a pact, they will suffer a humiliating defeat
He said despite the fuss about formation of the pact, it will not survive the test of time as the MMD has done.
He invited Zambians to join the MMD and not fall prey to supporting parties which do not have the interest of citizens at heart.
Mr Banda said at the Mongu Airstrip yesterday that he is interested in entering into a pact with the Zambians because he and his government are servants of the people.
He said the opposition is criticising his government for improving the road network claiming it is a campaign gimmick and yet the general elections will only take place next year.
He said Government has secured money to build the Mongu-Kalabo road and Kalabo-Luanda road, and that it has carried out feasibility studies for construction of the Senanga-Sesheke road.He also said more funds have been allocated in this year’s budget for the Senanga-Sesheke road.
Government has allocated K1.7 billion towards completion of Shangombo Hospital.
“As servants of the people, my government wants to construct roads for you,” he said.
He thanked the people of Western Province for the warm welcome.
And the Kuomboka ceremony organising committee has said President Banda is at liberty to wear whatever attire he feels comfortable in when attending the ceremony.Committee chairperson Oliver Saasa said as guest of honour, Mr Banda is not compelled to attend the ceremony in a particular colour of beret and that he did not break etiquette by wearing a white head dress. He said Mr Banda can even wear traditional attire from Eastern Province if he wishes.
Prof Saasa was reacting to a story in yesterday’s edition of The Post newspaper saying Mr Banda surprised people by wearing a white beret.
Mr Saasa said the committee has nothing to do with the story and never complained about the President’s attire.
Prof Saasa explained that wearing of the red beret started during the reign of King Mulambwa and was associated with paddlers of the royal barge.
He said the red beret became popular and has been worn by most Lozis during the Kuomboka ceremony.“The red beret has nothing to do with tradition,” he said.Prof Saasa said even the next time Mr Banda and the First Lady attend the ceremony, they are free to wear any attire. He was speaking during the royal banquet hosted by the Litunga. And the Litunga paid gratitude to Mr Banda for attending the Kuomboka ceremony, saying there is need to preserve culture.
And CHARLES MUSONDA reports that President Banda yesterday arrived in Lusaka from Mongu.
Mr Banda arrived at Lusaka International Airport at 18:15 hours aboard a Zambia Air Force plane.
Vice-President George Kunda received the President. Former President Kenneth Kaunda, Zambian High Commissioner to South Africa Lesley Mbula, Minister of Works and Supply Mike Mulongoti, and defence chiefs were also at the airport to receive the President.
Mr Banda was accompanied by First Lady Thandiwe, Minister of Finance and National Planning Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane, and Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources Catherine Namugala, among others.

The question the MMD members should ask themselves is; why is it that EVERYONE supporting
the MMD is either has got an intersest in the party or ‘ALELYAMO’. Are these ‘MMD KANYAMO ‘
so many to outnumber the PF-UPND pact members?
Why doesnt the MMD have sincere and loyal members who will support the party without UKULYAMO? I need an honest answer
