9. This man is innocent until proved guilty. We are not privy to the facts of the case and whether there was actus reus at all. But having said that, let me make the general comment about rape, that Law makers should understand that this offence has nothing to do with s e x ual desire, but is an act of violence and control. It should be in the same class as aggravated robbery and those convicted, should be imprisoned for life without parole or else be subject to ‘disarmament.’ Take away their ‘offensive weapon’ of mass destruction (biological castration) if they are to be freed.
