  1. I nos some persimists will see a problem in this development. They will scream murder on the top of their voices

  2. The business is suposed to revolve around mining. Activities like copper processing and supplying inputs to the mines

  3. More slave wages for Zambians whilst the Chinese dig and empty our country of its natural resources. The only people who stand to benefit from these investments are MMD thugs and of course their infestor counterparts. The $100 million is being invested so they can reap more. How much are these suckers paying in taxes? Out of every $1million made from copper the inept MMD government gets $6,000.

  4. #1 Everything for them is counted in political mileage. I really wonder whether there’s is a dream for change or mere entry into plot one. When roads are fixed they cry foul, opening of mines, they cry foul, investors come in, they cry foul, Chinese pump in money, atti we dont want nchoncholis, so what change is it really than seeing your relatives in government are you talking about. Schools are being built, hospitals are being refurbished, roads are being fixed, the economy is at its best, give RB time, one year is very shot period, ask Obama how long it has taken him to bring to effect Health Insurance Bill, and how long he thought it would take him, Ask Obama, how long it has taken him to bring the soldiers from Iraq, and how long he thought it would take. GIVE RB TIME! Viva…

Sometimes, slave wages are better than no wages at all. Some Zambians who are not employed right now will cherish having a bit of those slave wages.

Let’s strenghen labour laws so that investors will operate within laws that favour Zambians.

  6. Can some one from govt come out and explain what kind of businesses these may be, you need to explain clearly are they manufacturing , turning copper into finished products is it building factories for makingclothings, is it tuarisim industry elaborate clearly we want to know, is it to manufacture car tires or is it to take away copper for their own use in China! and leave Zambia with trenches of holes

  7. #7, Ba Mulenga, It might be useful to tell you about a discussion between Mwalimu Nyerere and Mzee Kenyatta. Nyerere says to Kenyatta, the system you are setting up in Kenya is a ” Man eat Man System”. Kenyatta looked at Nyerere and said, What abou you Mwalimu, the system you are setting up in Tanzania is “Man eat Nothing System”. Makea you think. Please give some thought to what # 9, UK-ZED has said. Choices leaders have to make are not always easy. There is nothing to be gained from being a crazed critic.

  8. LT, you still treat readers of blog as idi.ots. Couldn’t you have bothered to find out more and told us exactly what this/these investments are all about? We need to know the clauses of these contracts- something learned people call transparency. You can’t just tell us that the Chinese are investing 100million in Zambia, or Chambishi or whatever. Is it manufacturung plants they are setting up, or as usual another mine to mine and externalise our minerals?
