MMD Lusaka province chairman William has announced that he is sending 250 cadres to the national development conference in Luapula province which will be graced by second republican president Fredrick Chiluba in Mansa starting tomorrow.
This follows the earlier announcement by the Patriotic Front (PF) that it would send more than 200 youths from Lusaka and the Copperbelt to the conference.
Mr Banda announced this during a press briefing in Lusaka today that he would to ensure the republican president Rupiah Banda and second republican president Fredrick Chiluba were protected.
Mr Banda said the cadres who were expected to leave for Luapula this afternoon will further be reinforced by another batch of cadres expected to leave for Mansa this evening.
Former president Chiluba is tomorrow expected to grace the development conference in Mansa which will be attended by chiefs and Members of Parliament from Luapula province.
The conference is expected to discuss development in the province.

There is no need to send cadres to Mansa. This will just serve to show that MMD is a violent party. Let MMD refrain from any acts of confrontation please. The Police are there to manage the situation. Preserve the image of your party Mr.William Sir.
And then when violence breaks out the MMD GRZ Administration will be accusing PF of being perpetrators when GRZ can just broke PF problems by sending in only Zambia Police Service personnel.

Here in the US a couple that gate crashed at the white House ball to greet President Obama is facing prosecution while some top secrete service officials have taken responsibility by resigning. The defense and security have the duty to cage and choke these PF cadres who want to gate carsh for drinks and violence. William Banda is chairman of Lusaka Province (appointed to the position by Rupiah Banda — he was not elected as far as I know). Does that give him authority to send cadres to Luapula Province? Or has he now assumed the role of National MMD chairperson?

# 32… the meeting in Luapula is termed developmental where the development of Luapila will be discussed. To this effect all people coming from Luapula are supposed to attend so they air their opinions, ideas, concerns etc so that a solution is found. But what is coming out is that the meeting is political in which they want to lure chiefs in Luapula to MMD using ka chiluba. For example chief Chimense in Mansa has his invitation withdrawn just because he has a son who is PF. THESE ARE THE EVIL ACTS OF CHILUBA.
It is irresponsible for MMD to send a controversial figure like Chiluba to discuss politics in any area in Zambia.How many times did you ever hear KK , Mandela or even Maureen do what Chiluba is doing in Luapula ? All this could have been avoided if only we had condemned our youth for their activities which have a propensity for violence. There was no need for PF to send people to Luapula.
Instead of sending all these youth to all these political activties. Why aren’t the bloggers concerned that they are not being sent to school or given jobs to better their life. We should be hearing about programs that empower youth. Skilled jobs like carpentary etc They are the future generation and using them for poltical activties in both parties is wrong and selfish by the “adults”. Youth should be used and encouraged to develop Zambia. These activties do not cultivate their future.
Chiluba can contribute to Zambia in a more peaceful way like KK. There is so much charity work to do in the country that does not involve politics. He has to accept he is no longer the President of Zambia and let go. Let RB and it’s opposition parties continue their politics. Please leave the youth alone. Educate them…these old polticians in their youthful days were allowed to build their lives. Give these youth the same opportunities and teach them skills that cultivate peace in the country.

Zambia is slowly and possibly irreversibly degenerating into a warfare at the hands of Rupiah Banda. What exactly has gone wrong? In an election, there is a winner and a loser. Now I know that those in govt have read the writing on the wall indicating of an eminent loss come 2011. Thus the desperation to cause confusion in the nation. We will not end at nothing. Titus Chiluba and Rupiah Banda and associates will be brought to justice for as long as they live. RB can not just adopt old timer’s tacts of maiming citizens in order to remain in power. The best thing that patriotic Zambians can do to avoid the consequences of the signs of violence we are seeing is to ask the UN to take over Zambia until the politicians become mature then can the elections take place. I think you should apologise to the thousands of children suffering for this disorder. You see sometimes talking too much can make you say things that hurt innocent people. These are children who are not happy about their situation and adding this insult to them makes you look even more careless than one can be. Father Bwalya should attend these meetings, thats where the red cards would be more suitable, flash them at cadres who are not following rules of combat. For example if a PF cadre is unable to wield a chwama-matchet that would warrant a red card, equally an MMD cadre needs to be flashed one if he can NOT move a man of Mr Sata’s size from point A to point B ‘by air’
