HH is old enough to lead Zambia,Saunders

United Party for National Development (UPND) party president Hakainde Hichilema
United Party for National Development (UPND) party president Hakainde Hichilema

A political Activist says it is taboo for any one to call UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema as a young man who cannot manage to lead the country as president.

In an interview with QFM, Dante Saunders says Mr. Hichilema’s age is in line with national leadership and complements with what is going on around the world today.

He says a man of his age is able to handle national issues because he still has fresh thinking and fresh ideas which can transform the country.

And Saunders says those agitating that PF leader Michael Sata is not fit to be president of Zambia are not fair.

He says despite Mr. Sata’s age, he is still fit to be president of the country.

He says people ought to understand that all people advanced in age have a health complication of one way or another.

He says there is nowhere in the world where one can find an old man without a health complication.

He says Mr. Sata’s health complications should not be used as an excuse for him not to contest for the presidency.

He says the issues of health and age should not be factors in determining who should be president of the country.

He says power to choose leaders lie in the hands of the people, adding no political party should be master of who should be president of the country.

He says in addition to people’s wishes, God ordains leaders hence no one should judge the conditions of other people on issues that affect national leadership

  1. LT you are so pathetic in your reporting these days..wait..xeroxing i meant..”copy- paste” kind of cheap journalism..you are so MMD..wonder what they giving you..there are plenty of other stories on qfm that you can copy paste like…”Bus drivers vow to vote MMD out”…but hey you settle for anything that will discredit the opposition..shame

  2. Mr Political Activist, I wonder how much they paid you for answering the obvious. Even a grade 7 knows that you just need to be 35 years old to be capable of leading Zambia. What kind of journalism is this? Are these the best questions the so called private media can put to people? Shocking.

The question should be about capability, temperate, charisma and is he able to rally people towards a common goal? Decimation of UPND from main to minor opposition party speaks volumes about him. Can he see right and wrong and always choose right even though it may be unpopular or may cost him greatly? Answer NO. Why? His people beat an officer in his yard in Mufumbwe and he said nothing. And above all he has LOST THREE TIMES ALREADY.. He is A CERTIFIED LOSER

  3. HH IS MORE READY.BUT IAM VERY WORRIED WHEN YOU WANT TO DILUTE HIM WITH OLD POLITICIANS WHO HAVE FAILED FOR A LONG TIME.ZAMBIA NEEDS 10 OF HH TO CHANGE THE MINDSET OF THESE OLD “HAVE BEEN POLITICIANS” WHOSE ONLY AGENDA IS GRATUITY EVERY 5 YEARS. PLEASE GIVE UMWAICE A CHANCE. NAMULYA PAFULA.

  4. Yes, all have the right to lead. But how much of taxpayers’ money will be used to maintain a sick President? Are taxpayers going to be accorded an opportunity to know the degree of health complications related to aspiring leaders so that they do not regret when their hard earned monies are used for medication? Really is it not necessary to know that detail? By the way, why should some leaders feel, they would rather collapse inside State House than outside. Does this not amount to greedy, where one even downplays own health.

  5. Ask Sata, HH is just an overzealous immature calculator only fit for herding cows, squizzing mabisi and drinking Chibwantu.

  6. Ask Sata, HH is just an overzealous immature calculator only fit for herding cows, squizzing mabisi and drinking Chibwantu.

  7. TOO MANY FRONTS A BLOW TO SATA AND HIS FRAGILE PACT

    ‘No vote for insolent politicians’

    From KANGWA MULENGA in Mansa

TRADITIONAL leaders in Luapula Province have resolved that they will not support political leaders who insult chiefs.

  8. This is interesting sycophancy considering that Dante Saunders like Fred Mmembe, Frank Bwalya and Willim Harrington is a strait jacket PF cadre. But here clearly he is trolling for Ichilema than Sata.

  9. Morning everyone, interesting, HH is young, Sata is old, RB is too old. Who is our next president? I bet its the young man HH. Inteligent and Rich, vibrant and visionary. Go HH

  10. Mr HH is old enough to be president. We may give him a chance. On the other hand it is true that age comes with its on problems. SATA and RB should give us a break. GOD HELP.

  11. Yes, Mr. Hichilema is old enough to lead Zambia. It is in the constitution of Zambia.

Will he lead? that is debatable but I lean more towards the NO. Reason, he has formed a pact with Mr. Sata who has explicitly stated that he will continue contesting elections until he wins. This automatically disqualifies Mr. Hichilema from obtaining the PACT candidacy. Mr. Hichilema is also aware that what one was the major opposition (UPND) has now dwindled to third place with Mr. Sata’s PF obtaining the place of major opposition though not credible. Mr. Hichilema is aware very well that he cannot win an election if he stands on his own feet as is evident from the past 2 elections of which one was a presidential by-election. He also cannot be pact candidate because of Mr. Sata. oh well…|-)

  12. @2, Bootlicker
Correction: HH has only contested 2 Presidential elections, i.e 2006 and 2008!
Hence he has only lost twice not 3 times..

  13. At the momment no politician in Zambia (especially in MMD) who can HH`s resume. MMD is full of chaps who have failed to make it in private life like Mulongoti who even failed to run a 4 bedroomed guest house. Here is HH`s resume———-

HH has been one of the leading lights in business with wide experience in Zambia,

  16. Yes yes yes yes. Let the young mind show you how he made his wealth. May be our country can be transformed.

  17. Dante Saunders,

Dante Saunders and all PACT trolls kindly take and escalate this open debate to the heart of this so called PACT. Stire it into the internal campaign structures of your pact.

  18. He is 48, Obama was the same 47 when he started ruling the US, Cameron is 43, so what is the problem? And wisdom is not equal to age there are a few above 70s in this country that I as a late 30s person surpass in terms of thinking. Joseph Kabila should be approaching 40 now.

  19. WISE WORDS—SHAME ON THOSE SPEAKING ILL ON HEALTH AND AGE–WE ARE NOT INTERESTED.

REMEMBER RB SHOULD GO AND IF MMD MAKES HIM THEIR CANDIDATE THEN THEY ARE GONE…..HE IS NOW USING FTJ FOR HIS CAMPAIGNS-SHAME ON THE FORMER HEAD OF STATE.

REMEMBER I AM NOT PARTISAN BUT ZAMBIAN FACING REAL ISSUES

  20. Yes He can. Obama -US, Cameron -UK, HH – Zambia, sounds right in order for me. For the first time in history the UN will have handsome speakers and fresh minds.Zuma – RSA really a spoiler on this one, I must say.

  21. Ala ba Dante Sondashi (or Saunders, whatever your Zambian name is!) muletekanya. Fwebene natwishiba ifyo tulefwaya ukuchita.

  22. #7 Patriot – IS THAT FROM THAT TOILET PAPER CALLED TIMES OF ZAMBI? At the week end I was at Mambilima/Jonston Falls 45Km from Mansa. The mood there is to remove MMD from office. So I dont why you want to believe what some small chief is telling your toilet papers called news papers.Let me tell you that here at home people dont fear chief as some gods. Just as they can pass through a grave yard at night without fear of ghosts that is how they regard chief s to day. MMD will get the chiefs vote but not mine. By the way is giving money by George Kunda to those villagers a form of development you want to bring to Luapula?

  23. ALL OLD POLITICIANS FIITEKWA .HAKAINDE NIKATEKA. MWEFITEKWA LEKENI KATEKA ATEKE ICHALO. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COW AND A SKIN OF A COW. NEXT TIME GRATUITY FOR ALL POLITICAL LEADERS SHOULD BE TAXED 1st 5 YEARS@ 50% ,2nd 5 YEARS@ 70% ,3nd 5YEARS @ 90%. PLEASE ADD TO THIS. UTUKOTE TWATEKA PAFULA.

  24. Bloggers who compare HH to Obama and Cameron are myopic.Compare HH to other Africans as Zambia faces similar problems with Africa not America or Britain.Kagame of Rwanda is a good leader when it comes to national development.Since the genocide of 1994,Rwanda has grown and outstriped idle countries like Zambia in Human development,Education,Housing,Agriculture and health.

  25. #1: kalaba.
You spoke too early for comfort and it appears to me that you just like critisizing. LT has “copied and pasted” the bus driver story and I checked to see what you had to say but you didnt blog anything. Stop blaming anybody/anything for your own failures. Channel your anger and frustration into work. it might just work for you. What is in this story that descredits the opposition anyway?

  26. Age is just but a number, as they say. Actually, HH was ready for Presidency several years back. For me, he can do better than soon-to-be Dr. Lupiya Banda and the ever-ranting Mikalile Sata put together. For once, let us be serious! Did you know that at independence, we were richer than South Korea? Zambia has all the resouces to be equal to France, or Italy but we, the people luck seriousness. Yes! How can we explain our tolerance of a convicted ( London Judgement) criminal, FJT. We need wealth creator, proven economic manager, somebody who can distribute wealth to all Zambians fairly. And that person is HH! Challenge me if you can, with facts of course!

  27. As a die hard supporter of UPND, i would rather have HH contesting alone… This PACT thing is usesless. Go HH, we are there behind you. Sata is expiring soon

  28. When are we going to get journalists in Zambia who can ask incisive questions to politicians instead of this rubbish really? All interviews start like, ‘Who is Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms So and so?’ ‘Where did you ‘do your schooling?’ Ata se! Then we have photo journalist captions… ‘So and so, ‘captured” or ‘So and so talking to…’ or ‘exchanging notes with.’ The standards have really fallen! It is so sad that in general everything has deteriorated in Zambia. Town planning is non-existent and yet there are people sitting on their butts being paid for this. Building is pre-jurasic. Perpendicular walls are slanting like the leaning tower of Pisa, cracks appear no sooner than the cement has dried and meanwhile, the country rushes on with ‘development’ so called!

  29. #29 Mbuta Likasu
Don’t get me wrong, I am not anti HH, but I do not get the logic of your argument. As I understand it, HH worked for a firm that was responsible for the liquidation of parastatals and thus got very rich. How does that equate with wealth creation and economic manager? Is it not like saying that when there are so many deaths, the best wealth creator and economic manager is the Undertaker? Mr HH made his millions burying companies and not creating them. In Madagascar, the President there was of the same ilk as HH. Ask the Madagascans what they think of the man who used his Presidency to enrich himself by getting all the contracts!

  31. #13 Dawa
If we take your argument to its logical conclusion, Mr Tom Mtine would be the best President for Zambia. His record is impeccable. America would have chosen Buffett, Gates, Rockefeller, etc for President. Sorry, guys, but politics is not just economics. We make big mistake if we think so. There is no one in the world who is able to sort out economics. There is a cycle that is inevitable. One can only delay it or hasten it. Cursed is the man who puts his trust in man! Go your own way and do whatever your hand finds to do, and do it with all your might. Even in the poorest countries on earth today, you will find someone who has made it big, without cheating! Zambians need to be told to work hard FULL STOP!

  33. Mr SAINT or is It Madam Saint you raise a good point. HH made his wealth by burying companies and not creating any. #29, may be you should counter this with information of a successful company HH started, not one he sits on as a board member, and is helped by others, I mean something perhaps he started from scratch.

To you Sata the old man is useless, just as useless as RB you say, but don’t you find it strange that your leader of choice, is able to today say he will support the candidacy of Sata, if he is not chosen as pact leader. Where will that leave you if this happens, will you now support the one you call ever ranting.

  34. On “And Saunders says those agitating that PF leader Michael Sata is not fit to be president of Zambia are not fair… He says despite Mr. Sata’s age, he is still fit to be president of the country after “In an interview with QFM, Dante Saunders says Mr. Hichilema’s age is in line with national leadership and complements with what is going on around the world today”“, kuyamba timayamba bwino but kusiliza chimavuta. I hope Mr Dante Saunders is really a PF cadre and if this is so, then his interview probably entails that PF has already settled to support the 2011 PF-UPND PACT presidential candidacy of HH while their MC Sata may take up the deputy PACT presidential candidacythough I prefer that Mr Sata be consider for political adviser once the PACT forms GRZ…

  35. #13 – 15, this is a very impressive and enviable record. He started well, but why has he chosen to flirt with lumpens and behave like them? Of course, it’s greed and desperation to get into State House. And don’t even liken him to Obama, it’s an unforgivable insult to that great young man. Obama took his time to build himself and his image, he did not reduce himself to a lumpen but maintained his dignity until his time came. Why didn’t HH form an alliance with Milupi, Chipimo and many similar others? Maybe the fear that people might not notice the difference that he thought would be obvious with his current partner? At the moment I have written him off as presidential material precisely for this reason, but he has time to redeem himself before 2011.
As for Dante Saunders all his…

  36. Presidency is not about how rich one is, how old one is. it goes far beyond these attributes. i have noticed that the debates on these bloggs are more of campaigns. no critical analysis. PF supporters have their own reasons for supporting Sata. MMD, RB. UPND, HH.

  37. 29 Mbuta Likasu says “….We need wealth creator, proven economic manager, somebody who can distribute wealth to all Zambians fairly. And that person is HH! Challenge me if you can, with facts of course!….”
Yes I am challenging you with something simple. HH has amassed wealth, repeat AMASSED WEALTH by selling parastatal comapnies. Many Zambians lost employment and therefore whatever meager wealth they had when their companies were sold while he was getting rich in the process. How does that reconcile with distributing wealth to all Zambians fairly?
#32, 34 THE SAINT, I wish we could spend more LT time debating good analyses like yours.

  38. HH made his money from the huge consultation fees the govt paid liquidators. We should not blame HH because he was merely doing his job as a consultant, blame the Chiluba govnt. for selling the companies. As for me I feel he is the right man for presidency.

  39. His excallency Hon president R. Banda has been at the GRZ helm for just under 3 yrs. Yet in that time those who want to pre-judge him over look the fact that Zambia has recorded billions of $s in investment, extenal trade deficit has continued to fall, the number jobs created has risen streadly, GDP figures have shown remakeble improvements. As for the opposition, they have nothing to show in the areas they hold. No work seems to be done by them. They spend all their time sharpening insults and promising never coming statments to refute allegations of funds wasitage in councils they control. They are but a toxic collection of petty crooks and drug dealers forming on the mouths at the prospect of a job in GRZ, void of any examples of hard work or strategy to bring the nation out of poverty

  40. MMD has never won an election since 1996,remember?.So,all those supporting MMD are supporting evil and you are satanists. How can you say that SATA has lost 3 times when all these elections have been rigged?.And you are foolishly happy that you are ruling?.Shame on devils like you, because you are happy when you steal from people and you take advantage of the poor.My Prayer to the Almight God is that,he should show you his mighty next year.Remember how stupid FTJ stole the votes from Mazoka in 2001,Zambia was nearly set ablaze because of the thieving Chiluba, and Im so sure that when war breaks out,Chiluba would be a target of the ‘black arrow’.And we all saw how Mwanawasa brought back VJ from retirement so that he can rigg for him,we all know these things,so any blogger who sane shld…

  41. #42, Insaka, what role did HH play in these consultations, as you have put it. If therefore the privatization had been a success story would you have attributed this success to HH. Can you tell us therefore that the failure of the process can in the same manner be attributed to HH. If indeed the foundation of HH’s capital lie in privatization, are you therefore agreeing that HH is a beneficiary of a process that lead to the demise of many Zambians. How possible is it that one can boast about wealth that is accumulated from the sufferings of millions of Zambians, and point to it as a success story.

  42. Following MMD MP Magande’s “It’s really a pity that we are going this way but anyway like some of us know and as we have been told, the current leader said he was just asked by somebody to stand, so, obviously after agreeing to stand, I don’t think he set out a plan to work on what he wanted to do for the country,”” reported in the POST Newspaper after mis-President informed the Nation that Zambia got nothing out of the Wind Fall tax I hope MMD cadres will begin to appreciate truth the the President has no direction since he rejected truth by his Minister of Finance and also the Secretary to the Treasury a thing that shows that only president HH of the mighty UPND is ready to do what is needful since he even signed a Social Contract over his UPND’s campaign promises…

  43. Its not about Age or Health. But HH and sata can not be presidents of this land because they have failed to address or come up with programs that are self sustaining for the people they lead. Its for exhibiting high levels of incompetency

  44. #44 Amuna, That is a tired and worn out fantasy. You will need new and effective strategies for 2011, not that and the 90 days candy.

  45. #24 Deja Vu, you just stopped short of using the usual language of “we know what is on the ground”, and pretending that you are political experts, and that you in the majority when in fact you are just a loner at some internet cafe somewhere.

  46. LET BA SHIKULU SATA TELL US HOW RIGGING IS DONE. I THOUGHT HE WAS MINISTER WITHOUT PORTFOLIO, MEANING HE HAD NO BORDERS TO ALL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ELECTION AND MORE IN MMD.

  47. WELL SAID DANTE, I ADMIRE YOUR COURAGE SOMETIMES, THE PROBLEM IS IT’S MMD THAT STARTED TALKING ABOUT SATA’S AGE DURING LEVY’S TIME. BUT NOW, THEY HAVE BEEN CAUGHT UP IN THEIR OWN VOMIT, BA RUPIAH IS OLDER THAN SATA.

    F.U.C.K THE MMD.

  48. N# 32, 34, 40 & 46.

YOU DONT HAVE THE FACTS THAT N# 29 DEMANDED.
HH was just a negotiator between GRZ and investors. The GRZ did not consult him to say was it a good move to sell or what but they told him just to negotiate of which he did and of course he was bound to be paid for the work done. So i dont see why you restrict yourselves in thinking when no one is forcing you to blog here. You have all the time by yourself, so think about the role which HH played. I can help you on start that.. the issue of PRIVATISATION HH worked as a privet sector and he was paid on those basis. continue thinking..

  49. #41Chilufya Chileshe i do very much concur with you development requires collective effort. We all here on the blog can contribute to develop Zambia if we all came up together agree on projects that would help develop Zambia, such as job creation. Take for instance we get into construction of housing as well as commercial buildings. This will get us to create jobs for Zambians those during the construction and those who will work in those buildings after their completion, we can talk to Anderson and Anderson International the can give us quotes. And we work towards that goal.there many things we can do. But the government needs to make good policies too, which can benefit the ordinary Zambians as well. we can work together with me to achieve this if we all want here on the blog.

  50. #54 BWEZANI KUMBUYO DOG BAND
You read me wrong. I am not denying the fact that HH is wealthy. What I find illogical is that just because someone is wealthy then he is fit to be President because he will create wealth for others? You do not have to be President to do that. Alan Sugar in UK and Donald Trump in US make apprentices by giving chance to those who ‘already have it’ to become like them. Governments do not create wealth, they spend wealth. Government creates an enabling environment so that the citizenry can have opportunities. The trouble is a ‘businessman President’ would be having unfair advantage over the citizens in his businesses in a small economy like Zambia’s. That is why I have cited the Madagscar scenario.

  51. hello u slaves in the diaspora? mulishani bane? i am back after 6 months ban. thank u for nothing ba LT. any way i was concerned bane. my wife gave birth to a pretty baby. awe umusungu wandi we have good genes. iye lots of things have changed pa site. i know you missed walai. yes it is me i am back bane. but now i have not come for nonsense, if u want nosense go to the toilet and do shinganani mwawumfwa. am back deuces bane:)>-

  52. If my memory saves right , i remember this story was once published on LT sometime back, I now believe that LT you are nothing but MMD cadres, copy and paste journalists, same stories and the article has no date to show when this called political activits Dante Saunder said all this. very unprofession way of doing things.

  53. Sensebly speaking of all the aspirants only Elias Chipimo represents the right generation for a president. We need a leader in early 40s just like what KK and his crop were in 1964.Look at how much they did for the Country.Look at Cameron,Nikki Clegg,Obama etc why are we still wasting time with the Munkombwes,William Bandas,RBs etc

  54. wati nick clegg?? uk is uk zambia ni zambia. stop applying yo naive theories wawumfwa? deuces u ka 2vee. if u want young leaders get a visa to uk thats if u wont be denied by the same young conservatives nd liberals for being to dark. deuces you ka 2vee

  55. ALL THOSE WHO ARE AGAINST HH TO LEAD, PLIZ LET US TRY TO ANALYZE THINGS IN AN INTELLECTUAL WAY AND NOT WITH THAT CADRE MENTALITY! PIPO…LOOK, WE HAVE THREE POSSIBLE HEADS OF STATE IN OUR COUNTRY…RB, SATA & HH AND WE ARE ONLY REQUIRED TO PICK THE BEST 1. NOW, ARE YOU SAYING RB OR SATA ARE BEST AMONG THE CANDIDATES WE HAVE??? IF YOU ANSWER IS YES, THEN HAVE YOUR HEADS CHECKED..

  56. Imwe who the fack are the chiefs? Just dirt asholes who claim to represent their subjects. We live in a modern society so we shud rid ourselves of half naked uneducated migots so called imfumus to dictate the way modern governance shud be organized. I mean have they even heard of a simple word such as interest rates? How can we listen to them. Bwenzani for sure is educated but he is way past his ruling age. Sata too is very old. The Only Preson we are left with is HH. Chiefs shud keep their asholes closed or else we shall send them Catholic gay bishops to deal with them. We shouldn’t be take for rides us Zambia. I love my country, respect its judiciary, the executive under Mbezani and red lipped kunda in coordination with Mulongoti and Chiluba is very incompetent.

  57. Age my asss!!! Just look at those dirty asholes who claim to represent their subjects.the chiefs. 58. #64, before HH reduced himself to a lumpen he could be considered for head of state. As it is, give us another option to compare with the other two that you mentioned. If you do not agree that HH has become a lumpen, you better have your head examined soon or be put in an isolation ward.

  59. #61, Nick Clegg and David Cameron are barely a week in office. Young as they are, even the British cannot tell whether these guys will perform or not but you want to become an expert on their affairs. Remember that they have formed a compromise government so none of them can fully pursue their policies, i.e. if they had any which I do not remember. At least if you look at Obama he had a vision and you can clearly see that he is achieving what he promised to do. Please avoid comparing goats and elephants.

  60. No. 31
THE SAINT, If a private citizen acting on behalf of his company can embezzle state resources, he is a magician. Maybe we need a magician to help us. Anyway, even Sata has been defended by Saunders, so no need to quarrel guys.:d We could then embezzle monies from private companies:d:d:d

  61. Sata was just a mere colonial constable. This is a f.uckin wake up call to all the cops especially constables that the kafupi ‘Bus Conductor’Chiluba yah offer protectin looks @ yah as inferiors, uneducated & low class. As for f.ckin FJT why did yah marry Vera who is a skool drop out as.s maid?why did yah appoint Sata in so many positions includin minister w/thout Portifolio??If yah were beaten by a Colonial Police constable as yah claim, its because yah were a trouble sugar as a bus conductor who are are in the same class of kaponyas lower than that of a constable.Anyway f.ck yah ballz fu.ckin kafupi mbol…..oooo!

  62. numba 67 katie good. i love u wawumfwa? i can leave my white woman for u if u are preetier than her that is . deuves:)>-

  63. #67 katie.
You seem to lack freedom of reasoning, or maybe you didnt read my comment in full !!
You know very well that there are only three (3) possible presidents in Zed as for now and out of those i asked those who can reason to come up with only 1 best candidate. And now you sound like you want to add another candidate..am not sure which other name you want to compare with the three candidates we have here, maybe you want me to include Sondashi as a possible president????
Katie tell me who would you choose to represent you locally and internationally among( RB,SATA & HH). which 1 are you picking???

  64. People who continue supporting HH, SATA or Rupiah Banda does it mean that out of the 12 million Zambians we only have these 3 people we can look to for development? Come one people Zambia is bigger that these 3 guys. Rupiah Banda is a failure we all know that, HH, well as much as i dont the guy that well, let someone (with facts and not cadre answers) tell me how the guy acquired his wealth, if he ever ripped Zambia off by even one cent, then the brother is not fit to be president how do you fight corruption if its installed in your blood.
With Sata, the man has shown some seriousness in the ministries his served but lets face it, we dont want a dictator in our country. so if its up to me i would look somewhere else for a president and a government at large.

  65. # 74- If you think its that easy to rule then do it. Why are you so much against HH. Give him a chance at least he is the only reasonable one among the 3. Look at the big picture, dont have that Zedian mentality.

  66. #76 walai..ati shni mune? waile kwisa iwe..? welcom back!
Awe..i just want my sister to reorganise her thinking. kaili akale there was KK and a FROG during voting and people who think could only go for KK as frog cant do anything tangible. Now we have Bwezani,Sata and HH, again here we are required to choose the best out of what we have. but my sister wants those who dont even have an MP to be included. am sorry !

  67. I would ve loved to consider HH as the next head of state but the Tongas declared that UNPD is only for Tongas.

  68. MMD Chief Bootlicker says: This woman always has his facts wrong! I am glad he has been corrected by the Mossad-KGB! This woman (she seems to be a woman suffers from verbal diarrheal. For his information, NONE of the original MMD thinkers are in the party any more. MMD has now become UNIP act 2! The militia head a certain William Banda shows us his true colours when it comes to supporting a leader- that is your calibre! I sympathise with the PF, but I also believe HH has every right to be in politics and he has proved himself! For us to still be with MMD after 2011 will be a disaster. It will take us another 20 years to recover!

  69. Mulenga–Newcastle Upon Tyne, I totally agree with you! Rwanda a country coming out of a war situation has outgrown countries such as Zambia! Today, because Kagame reads email every day, he has connected each and every government school with internet and ICT! Every, Saturday morning, he goes into the city to clean up the town! Yes, he does do that including he- himself! Even our eastern neighbour which was ruled by a dictator (KB) has overtaken Zambia and is now the 3rd fastest growing country after (No. 1 Mauritius, No. 2 Botswana)! Zambia a country born with a golden spoon is now the 5th poorest country in the world! We have lost it and aint going anywhere with MMD! The hour is still at 1 o’clock!

  70. #37. Do you know the saying, “Tayankila mbiye”? Do you think MichaelChilufya Sata has been working hard all these year for just for some one to be handed presidency on a silver platta? You must be a serious joker. If you consider what happened in the UK between conservative and Libral, this is how it should happen even in the Zambian case. There’s no way Liberal’s Clegg was going to be PM and Conservative’s Cameron deputy. In a similar way, upnd will not appreciate and do the best for the people if they were just handed leadership on a silva platta. If you are in doubt ask Rupiah Banda.

  71. Moreover, I do not think HH, will stand imingalato (the dribblings) yabena FTJ, VJ, William Banda, etc. KK used the same people to intimidate citizens. This is a bad team of torture, dribbling, spin, rigging, etc. It won’t be surprising to hear that MMD has won the elections with a landslide. Sata is feared because he knows them. And they know that he will come to jail all thieves, bribers, corrupters, etc. Which I don’t think the young man is capable of. Moreover, they may use is ‘dubiuos’ wealth to weep him with.

  72. numabala 81 am back mune. we are the legends of this site bane.awe ba LT banned me bane, elo my white wife was expecting so twali busy. elo i have bin up and down travelling to america bane, business nayi booma guys. awe my son looks very handsome bane, chimu colordi. but madam has put on a bit of weight but she will be hittin the gym. elo other day ka 15 year old boy approached ba madam kavikapo na game ayi? trying to holla at ba madam. awe naliseka bane. mmm i dont blame the boy ba madam bali kwata bokosi kwati te musungu, ama blessings aya. fire!!! mulilo dunamis impact bane. deuces mwawumfwa?:)>-

  73. LISTEN TO #40- HE HAS THE POINTS. IF YOU CONSIDER SATA’S TRACK RECORD, HE INVOLVED HIMSELF IN PROJECTS THAT DIRECTLY BENEFITTED COMMON MAN. HH SHOULDN’T BE OVER-AMBITIOUS. OTHERWISE, LOSING 2011 ELECTIONS TO MMD WILL BE SUCIDAL. ABENGI BAKAPONOKWA.

  74. I DO NOT CARE WHO LEADS THE PACT. BUT, LETS NOT GAMBLE. OTHERWISE PF-UPND PACT CAN WORK WONDERS ONCE IN OFFICE.

  75. #51Katie Good- My dear I dont want to boast. I live in real world. Iam not a loner at an internet cafe as you allege. Infact I have never used this facility because I can do it from my home(Iam connected with Zain Zambia) or at my office. Iam not a political expert because all of us are born so. The only difference is that some people give up this noble gift because of some lousy position. This can be seen by so called VP George Kunda.

  76. # 73, That is your list. On my list HH does not feature, for the reasons that I have given. Sata features only because he came second in 2008. If you want me to choose between the remaing two, Sata and RB, obviously I choose RB to represent us locally and internationally and examples abound to support my choice.

  77. #1 You are really a chief bootlicker. But if you`ll fall ill no one will fly you to SA. Try to be fair to yoself.
#40 Katie Good, dont you think that there was need to privatise those companies? What do you do if you are making a loss in your business?Yes people had to loe jobs but reformation is like that. And how come the late president of zambia who was serious with the fight against corruption through the task force never tracked HH over privatisation if at all HH enriched himself using cash from privatisation? Dont you know that HH did not initiate privatisation but was called by the president that time to conduct the process because he was proven to have the brains necessary?
Those who want old pipo in leadership, why not learn from J.Kabila?

  78. Joseph Kabila was at one time if he is still not the youngst president in the world and yet he is doing far much better than our 73 year old president. Look at the size of DR Congo and the damge which Mobutu left. Whats the phorbia all about? Wasnt KK not right for calling us stupit zambians?
Where on earth will a normal person analyse someone`s leadership qualities by the number of times he lost elections? What if HH was from the northern or copperbelt provinces? What was going to be the story now?

  79. # 73, There is very little reasoning required here. I simply took up your challenge regarding HH distributing wealth. I did not say whether what HH did was wrong or right. I have simply stated that as far as your claim that HH will distribute wealth fairly to all is concerned, the evidence available suggests otherwise. All the evidence and data shows that HH amassed wealth and that is the opposite of distribution. On what basis do you make the claim that he will distribute wealth fairly? The only evidence that is available about HH distributing wealth (if you can call it that) is the donation of cattle to braii parties to celebrate electoral “victory”. Mind you HH is not a communist but a capitalist. I hope that answers #92 too.

  80. Continuation:Joseph Kabila was at one time if he is still not the youngst president in the world and yet he is doing far much better than our 73 year old president. Look at the size of DR Congo and the damge which Mobutu left. Whats the phorbia all about? Wasnt KK not right for calling us stupit zambians?

  81. Yes Sim Card 61 is right. Its a generational way of thinking bane?if we keep on thinking of ba Sata,BA FTJ,ba RB tayitaya. This is an IT age one cannot continue to do things stone age way,CAN ba William Banda use a Computer?.We need to think of replenishing our stock of leaders. We need more of Elias Chipimos etc ifikote kuposafye inshita balebombela ukufwa no aspirations at all sorry to say.Abaiche can see their future in their children who are young etc.when are we ever going to think like human beings?so resigned to failure we are.

  82. #69 Wabufi.
I have not accused HH of theft. He was paid the money that was rightly his. My contention is simply that just because a man is rich does not mean that he knows how to, and will make others rich. I watched Buffett and Gates speaking to University business students in America recently, and they had no magic formula, except to urge everyone to work hard and follow their instincts.

  83. #87
    Welcome back walai ntwenu mputti!
    I missed you.
Look after your mulatto. Don’t teach him Bemba, because he will run out of decent words very easily. Decent Bemba vocubulary is limited. The Bemba alphabet ends at ‘chi’! Ok, welcome back!

  84. #94 Katie.
I have failed to collect sense from your comments. your reasoning is very low. i thought you have something i could learn when i saw your flag…am sorry you have nothing. no wonder mmd can continue ruling coz even in Diaspora there are real villagers lie u. i think you have something against HH. how do you expect HH to dish out money just like that from his private companies?? he was hired to negotiate the deals of privatisation and got paid. now you want him to give you something that is when u wil say yes he can distribute wealthy??? yes he bought companies and he is one of those biggest employers in Zambia maybe you dont know.!!! Have a lovely week my sister. we love u and u shud register as a voter next year!!

  85. We need to put our country first and our selfish desires second. There is no medicine in hospitals, my wife went to give birth in UTH last week, there was no lazor blade the smallest thing to cut the umbilical code, really what a country. We will not allow zambia to fall in the hands of failures and selfish guys who just think of their lives. It does not matter for me where HH comes from but he is my man. In 2006 KK already told us that HH is the best person for zambia. Wake up guays you have families in zambia, the success of our beloved country should come first. Those who have worked in the government will understand what these politicians are made of when it comes to doing their own ways. They will never listen to anyone who is not one of them.

  86. #cont. Zambia politicians do not listen to anyone who is not one of them. When Mwanawasa came to power, he gate clashed at a certain conference in London and was chased which was so embarrasing to the nation, because he could not listen to the Ambassador representing the nation in that country just because he was a very lower ranking officer (position below the deputy PS). HH was just hired to implement instructions from Chiluba and his regime, including Sata who was the third in that ranking of the regime. HH got his wealth from the big companies he worked for as board chairman such as Barclys Bank, Stand chart etc. He was a bord chairm for 21 companies and the yough man is very intelligent in terms of management skills. Guys let us not miss this opportunity.

  87. We need a leader who is well informed, and HH is the best man for this job. If zambia is successful today the way Botswana is, outsiders do not look at a tribe but the whole nation’s efforts and the driver of those efforts. Zambia is losing a lot in the mines because we are only benefing quarter of the proceeds and the rest is going outside, of which at the end we will have open pit holes in Luansha and will end up regretting why God gave us mines.

  88. I thot tribe was a thing of the past. In this age and error with mixed marriages and interracial marriages – its one zambia, one world and one universe. Wake up and smell the coffee otherwise you doom yourselves, your children and yourchildrens children to a life of poverty if you vote for those old men with one foot in the grave. You think they care about us? As the saying goes” infula pakuya ilonaula ifisabo”.

  89. HH is the man. Some fulls on this blog are “amazing”. Pliz stop envy and jealousy of HH. At least you are agreed that he is intelligent and a successful businessman. Some support RB because of his international experience as a former diplomat, not successful businessman. He has failed to run Allen West in Kitwe, he crippled Namboard. His failures are many hence he is failing to manage the country. Only HH makes the grade. Sata on the other hand is hardworking but he is very sarcastic and has no courtesy and tact. These attributes subtract a larger chunk from his leadership capability. He is very close to a dictator which is bad for any country. If not HH then maybe Miyanda.

  90. HH is the one lets do away with these old folks when are the young going to sip on gin en juice? Time is now

  91. You can say am successful if you have a good truck record of success in yourself. Sata has been living on our tax payers money ever since from Kaunda, Chiluba and even Mwanawasa, the money which took him to South Africa for treatment when he had a heart attack was ours. Anyway I do not believe that Sata is a successful man because he cannot even take himself for treatment to South Africa hence he had to be evacuated by GRZ using our money. If Sata was successful, he was this time going to be resting with his heart problems, so the man just wants to die in comfort at state house and we are yet to have another state funeral. Old people need to have some rest. These oldies never thought wisely in their youth thats why they still need power.
