Detractors missing point – Conference coordinators

Share

COORDINATORS of the Luapula Province development conference are surprised that detractors are deliberately reacting to a missed statement that did not form part of the resolutions.

Kawambwa Member of Parliament Elizabeth Chitika-Molobeka, Copperbelt Province Minister Mwansa Mbulakulima, Bahati MP Besa Chimbaka said the chiefs and members of Parliament only resolved never to support politicians who insult others.

Ms Chitika-Molobeka said there was no part in the resolutions that talks about supporting President Rupiah Banda but what was clear was that opposition supporters were jittery because they have presidential candidates who seek political gain out of insults.

“We sat from 09.00 hours to 20.00 hours and those resolutions were read by Senior Chief Mushota. We have very intelligent chiefs who will not allow to be detracted by those who do not understand the situation on the ground,” Ms Chitika-Molobeka said.

MMD national secretary Katele Kalumba said in a media release in Lusaka yesterday that the conference exceedingly achieved objectives and expectation.

Dr Kalumba said the primary purpose of the conference was to achieve unity for the people of Luapula in the quest for greater political and economic participation.

Mr Mbulakulima said some people were fighting the outcome of the development conference because of its potential impact on the political standing of the opposition.

Mr Chimbaka said the opposition were trying to distort a well set agenda that had been set by the conference for political reasons.

Mr Chimbaka said the resolutions had hit opposition supporters in their face because they know that President Banda does not insult fellow politicians and was delivering development to the people.

Meanwhile, Mansa Central Member of Parliament (MP) Chrispine Musosha has refuted reports that he supports allegations that former president Chiluba is creating parallel structure in the MMD.

Mr Musosha said yesterday at a Press briefing that The Post newspaper had twisted the story to suit what they perceived was the way things should be.

He said there were no parallel structures in the MMD and that he was ready to work with Dr Chiluba the way the party was working with him because he was the founder of the party.

  1. Well meaning Zambians should not worry about ditractors-The Pact. Lets build our Country through unity and positive initiatives such as the just ended Luapula Conference. We are happy with the outcome of the said Conference.
Zambia should advance peacefully as being shown under the mature leadership of His Excellency President R B Banda.

  2. Times of Zambia again.
So Chimbaka is he an opposition MP or an MMD MP? the fact is Mwata never supported you and since most of you were thinking mwata would be on your sides, the moment he refused your money, doom was spelt on your faces as come 2011, some of you will never be near parliament motel

  3. Hahahahahaha…these useless people now they are licking their vomit. Bravo to the chiefs of Luapula. I know the people of Luapula that they cant be cheated by these thieves including a chief thief Chiluba. Chiluba ate alone the money. He even failed to build a toilet at his Village Musangu. What a shame.

  4. #1 this is for u from ze horse’s mouth and comment pls…
“Luapula chiefs complain over Chiluba’s meeting”
CHIEFS in Luapula Province have protested against former president Frederick Chiluba’s ‘developmental’ meeting and the endorsement of President Rupiah Banda.
Highly-placed sources who attended the closed-door meeting revealed that most of the chiefs were unhappy with the meeting and Chiluba’s involvement.
“On Chiluba, they just wasted their time because we know what Chiluba did and how he behaved as President for 10 years. We spoke amongst ourselves as chiefs concerning the issue of Chiluba and voting for ba Banda and the PF ‘rebel’ MPs, so no one can cheat us.”
The sources also said that chiefs protested against the K1 million they were each paid.

  5. so which detractors are u talkin abt beka ama chiefs nabailandila they ve rejected yo fake developmental meetings…..listen again…..

In short, the conveners of that meeting came to lobby for support for ba Banda and the PF rebel MPs. They were really behaving like children in their effort to try and get us to their side. Balewaminikisha filya!” the source revealed. “They were projecting themselves as nice and genuine people but from what we heard amongst our colleagues right there, they didn’t succeed in convincing anyone.

  6. so my brother u need to know that it is very clear that Frederick Chiluba’s meeting with chiefs of Luapula had nothing to do with the development of the area. It had everything to do with political manipulation, lies and deceit. And if u ar mmD tek this advice fro zze book of Proverbs 25 vs 4-5……….
“Take the impurities out of silver and the artist can produce a thing of beauty. Keep evil advisors away from a king and his government will be known for its justice.”

  7. #6 Amen & amen. Luapula chiefs are not puppets, have never been and never will be! People in that province, like all other Zambians everywhere are proud and dignified. Our parents went through cha-cha-cha and left us a legacy. Do not mess with us, we have God on our side and will not be intimidated! Go Luapula!**==**==:)>-

  8. i wont say much because in the first place i did not expect those chiefs to be paraded in mansa alone. we have house of chiefs, even other chiefs from other provinces need development. why luapula only. shit. chiluba knows that northern provice will not tolerate such nonsense. as for other provinces they don’t even know if he is alive. so only luapula is available. we shall see his next move. the more he move the more he increases his stupidity and foolishness.
