The United Party for National Development has charged that President Rupiah Banda is contemplating relieving Vice President George Kunda on grounds that he is a danger to the nation.
UPND Spokesperson Charles Kakoma made the revelation that the party has information that President is about to remove the vice president from cabinet in the next few months.
Mr Kakoma said the President has begun questioning the vice president’s ability to lead the nation in his absence.
Mr. Kakoma pointed out that it will be a miracle for Mr. Kunda to survive the President’s contemplation because it is serious.
And Mr. Kakoma said Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) President Charles Milupi was duped by President Rupiah Banda that he would be appointed vice president after the 2008 presidential by-election.
He disclosed that it is for this reason that Mr. Milupi has now decided to form his own political party to challenge President Banda because he was frustrated.

Whether we like it or not, ADD is a threat. Please, let’s focus on how UPND is better placed to lead Luena out of its problems than ADD, rather than focusing on personal attacks on Milupi and mere gossip. I am a UPND supporter but this Kakoma chap is sinking us to petty and cheap politics. We want to know the issues, not the gossip!!!

PF-UPND pact pointless’
SOME PATRIOTIC FRONT (PF) members of Parliament have slammed the pact between their party and the United Party for National Development (UPND) as non-existent and a waste of time.
This is in apparent reference to comments attributed to UPND president Hakainde Hichilema, who on Sunday declared that he was the best presidential candidate for the 2011 presidential elections.
In an interview yesterday, Bahati member of Parliament (MP) Besa Chimbaka said neither Mr Hichilema nor PF president Michael Sata possesses the required presidential qualities.
He said Mr Hichilema spoiled his chances of leading Zambia by aligning with Mr Sata, who has dented his image.
Mr Chimbaka said that instead President Banda is the best candidate for 2011.
“Both HH and Mr Sata are disqualified from becoming President of Zambia because of their characters which leave much to be desired. I have decided to work with the government of the day because as you can see, by HH’s utterances, the pact does not exist,” he said.
Mr Chimbaka said he will not resign as MP for Bahati but will let the people who voted him into office decide on which ticket he will contest next year.
Matero MP Faustina Sinyangwe said the pact exists only by name and that this is why both Mr Sata and Mr Hichilema can declare themselves candidates for 2011.
She said the reason the pact will fail is that it is an agreement between the top leadership of both parties, who disregarded the views of their members at the grassroots.
Shiwang’andu MP Celestino Chibamba said he does not recognise the pact because it is allegedly a sham.
Major Chibamba said the fact that both leaders of the pact want to be President of Zambia is proof enough that they are power-hungry.
He said President Banda has done a lot for this country and should be supported even by the opposition.

Come on, you can do better if you think and analyse for yourself and dont let such unstable, selfish and money craving MPs like Chimbaka mislead you. For your information UPND and PF are two different political party fighting for the same cause. They have as a mattter of principle and strategy decided to work together and if you have a small mind this strategy will be big for you to comprehend like it is currently big for RB and MMD. Either way, Kakoma looks bad. If I were advising Kakoma, I would suggest that he focuses on imperceptible success of the administration and its mountain of failures. I know the RB is doing his best but his best is not good enough. Look at the Auditor general’s report…he is either mute dumn or deaf and blind.

if ADD are nothing more than a scam not worth anyone’s attention, why do Kakoma and his leader HH take up so much of their valuable time discrediting him? Please, you don’t fool anyone. When people fail to argue intelligently, they turn to name-calling and low-blows. If the PF/UPND pact is pointless as Chimbaka alleges, it means the pact is unimportant, irrelevant, meaningless, and doesn’t pose any significant threat to anyone including you, Chimbaka and the MMD. So why should you even bother to think, talk or even waste your valuable time writing about such a nonentity?
At the moment UPND are in a slumber. When they discover the truth that they are losing their Southern Province “stronghold”, they will attempt to unleash “Mapatizya formula” on a grand scale. Watch this space and prepare room in the prisons by releasing more less harmful convicts.
