Chief governmment Spokesperson Lt. Gen. Ronnie Shikapwasha

Chief Government Spokesperson Ronnie Shikapwasha has described as a fabrication, reports the Chief Mwanachingwala of the Tonga people wants to burn sugar cane fields belonging to Zambia Sugar.

Gen Shikapwasha said there was no need for Zambia Sugar to report Chief Mwanachingwala to the police over allegations that he threatened to burn sugar cane fields for the company.

He said yesterday in a statement that the reported threats were stretched beyond the context.

Contrary to the allegations, the chief’s guidance during the meeting called by concerned contractors and suppliers in Mazabuka recently was one of progress and not retrogressive.

“It was about advancing the interests of both Zambia Sugar and the residents of Mazabuka in deriving maximum benefits from this important investment in their midst,” he said.

Gen Shikapwasha said the chief’s remarks were about Zambia Sugar spreading business opportunities to all contractors and suppliers in the district as part of its social responsibility.

The Government found as unnecessary, the decision by Zambia Sugar Plc to report Chief Mwachingwala of the Tonga people of Mazabuka for his alleged threats to burn the company’s cane fields as reported in some sections of the media.

  1. Why hasn’t Mwanachingwala himself not refuted the story earlier published about his threats? It has to take Unthinking Shikapwasha to say the story was stretched beyond context. Burning something as valuable as a cane field is a serious issue and no same journalist can manufacture such and lamp it into Charles Malambo’s mouth. This desperation by MMD is sickening. Let Mwanachingwala face the law. No one is above the law. He has threatened sabbotage, let him face his own music. Govt should not intervene and defend wrongdoing. That’s why people have lost confidence in this now bogus and substandard MMD govt. Somethings, you are better of keeping quiet and advise Charles Malambo to apologise for his tantrums and not blame the media. stoop it

  2. Lyonse its refuting the truth. I have never seen such dull ministers in any Government, even Idi amin had intelligent ministers who he butchered because they outsmarted him. Shikas, Go to hell!

  3. Lying Reverend.. At it again. why am i not surprised alikowela nobufi.:-?:-?:-?:-?:-?:-?

  4. It is stupid for Shikapwasha to defend Mwanachingwala,I think next year, after another Government takes over, people like Shikapwasha should be put behind bars for accomplice. Now I see,it seems all Leaders in MMD do not think at all, thats why Kabonde was saying he went to Mufumbwe because his Boss(RB) instructed him to do so.They move and do things without asking questions or advising their Boss on which things are right or wrong, they just say, move and do things like headless chickens.Same with Shikapwasha and Kunda, just because RB wants to win elections using kaChiluba, they agree to praise a thief without advising RB that Chiluba is a true thief who will destroy his ambition to retain power.I have never seen empty tins like Shikapwasha,Kunda,Mulongoti,Kande,Mabenga,William Banda, before.

  5. Whats happening in our country?,its like our leaders are not doing what they are paid for,RB and Kunda have become PACT spokesmen ,VJ for Southern Province now its Shikapwasha for Chief Mwanachingwala……..

  6. Clearly this fake reverend feels the already too many fake titles he has are not enough. So, in addition to reverend, Lt. General, and chief government spokesman, he wants to add the title of chief Mwanachingwala spokesman! Otherwise, in what capacity is he speaking on behalf of the chief? This mann is a disgrace to humanity.

  7. Is this chief joining the ranks of William Banda? What’s up with violence in Zambia kanshi? Could this be the leadership is in the forefront of all these? We have had three Presidents preceding the current. We have not heard such violence in Zambia. If we do the correlation and the inferences so used in statistics, we will come up with one conclusion. IT IS THE PRESIDENT IN THE FOREFRONT OF ALL THE VIOLENCE IN ZAMBIA.
