Chiluba has no respect for Taskforce

Share

Frederick Chiluba .

Second Republican president Frederick Chiluba has said he has no respect for the outcomes of court cases handled by the Taskforce on Corruption because they were heavily politicised.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Emmanuel Mwamba, Dr Chiluba said apart from the cases being politically instigated, they were also targeted at certain individuals.
“[pullquote]The foundation of these cases were political because they were selected and targeted at certain people.

“They were targeted at the former president so that they can diminish his political standing but all the allegations against have been proved otherwise,” Dr Chiluba said.[/pullquote]
The former president was commenting on sentiments by some stakeholders that following the conviction of MMD national secretary Katele Kalumba, Dr Chiluba was equally liable to a conviction.

A Zambian law academician, Michelo Hansungule was yesterday quoted in the media as saying the conviction of Dr Kalumba should bring back Dr Chiluba to the dock.

Dr Chiluba maintained the investigations by the Taskforce were a political witch-hunt targeted at certain leaders in his administration to silence them politically.

He, however, said he had respect for the Judiciary.

“The foundation of these cases were political because they were selected and targeted at certain people.

“They were targeted at the former president so that they can diminish his political standing but all the allegations against have been proved otherwise,” Dr Chiluba said.

An impression was created among the citizenry that Dr Chiluba had abused public resources but the court proved that the former head of State was innocent.

The lesson to be learnt from his acquittal was that the law enforcement agencies should be allowed to operate without any interference from the Executive.

With regard to the Taskforce, he said to begin with, it was an illegal entity that reported directly to the president.

It would have made sense if legal investigative wings investigated the alleged plunder as opposed to the Taskforce.

Dr Chiluba said he respected the Judiciary but emphasised that the judicial process should not be tainted with illegalities and political interference.

“We respect the Judiciary but this process was tainted with illegalities and underhand methods from the beginning.

“It is important that the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) condemns any activities that undermine justice,” Dr Chiluba said.

LAZ had a duty to protect the integrity of the entire process and not to only urge the citizens to respect the outcome of the court process.

“Justice begins from investigations, arrests and the court process,” Dr Chiluba said.

  1. Why does this man coninue to receive his retirement benefits of a former head of state when he still runs his loose mouth divisively. I thought retirement means retiring in his case from politics. Pls Kafupi try to find yourself a hobby!!!!

  3. This guy is really a kaponya. And he was a president for 10 years! What kind of thinking is this. He says he has no respect for the task force and the convictions but he respects the judiciary. Isn`t it the judiciary that convicted Katele and group?

  4. You are the most stupid person living on earth. You were given an opportunity to govern the country and instead you stole from the people. Please shout up for a while let others have a say you *****.

  5. The task force was an illegal and unconstitutional duplicity of legitimate statutory entities such as DEC, ACC, ZP and the OOP. It lacked any form of constitutional ground of implied or derived powers to exist.

  6. FWE BENA ZAMBIA FWE BA MANO TULEMILOLELA!!!!!

Mark Chona MUST tell us why he ran away from Zambia for almost 10 years and only to come back after Chiluba became President.

He MUST tell us where he got the US$4 million he used to buy the MEMACO FARMS located at Mulungushi turn off in Kabwe.

He MUST TELL us why he hated the DPP Mukelebai Mukelebai.

He must tell us if indeed he settled the Debts with the liquidated Zambia Airways in London.

He MUST tell us if he repaid the money he borrowed from Mhango in London.

Did his son who destroyed the BMW, an exhibit, for the Task Force pay for the wreckage

  8. I have never seen an i.di.ot like veteran. Zambia does not need such scavenger like veteran and senior citizen, It is without any doubt that, these two chaps(or one) are paid to misbehave on the blog.
Veteran, your head should be examined because you are anti-Zambian people and their well being. Your support is in your stomach and possibly your trousers.

  9. If you are Genuinely Innocent why do you have to remind people all the time? I can see now the Heart problem for our dear Kafupi has totally healed. Time will tell Bambo!!!

  10. This man FTJ is dengerous to our party. On sunday he condmed Dr Miti over hiring a plan to evacuate him to SA. Today he is condem task force. Is it not judiaciry that have sent KK to prison. Tommorow he will change and condem RB. Its only MMD hijackers such us veteren, senior citizen etc can continue supporting you cos this chaps agree and exept anything. Yes bwana. Shame

  11. This man is really desperate.in one breath, justice has prevailed,in another,I do not respect the outcome of cases.
The question is not who prosecuted you but,Did you steal?
My fellow zambians, this bnch of unrepented evil thieves will use every trick in the book to potray their innocence.
We must not fall prey to there evil schemes. The fact is that they are thieves whether exposed by the post or any ordinary zambia.
Let us not relent to ensure that justice prevails over these urepented criminals even if they are protected by those in power. He is a thief,Kawalala, lisholi,Indoshi,ba pushi!

  12. Ba Veteran (#6) naimwe open your eyes. This guy robbed you blind and now you want to conemn the people that caught or will catch him and call them illegal. I dont care if it was DEC, ACC, ZP,OOP, my neighbours 30 year old dog, your great grandfathers ghost or some prostitute residing on addis ababba that caught him. What I care about is that he is caught for robbing Zambia dry. This little thief still has the auducity to open the hole in his face and keep talkin nonsense. I hope he is thrown in sonner than later ka kabwalala.

  13. RB must open his eyes before its too late.Does it mean he has no advisors or the little man is blackmailing him.I honestly dont see FTJ being an asset to RB.He is a liability and simple accounts tells us that liabilities must be substracted from assets.
This man FTJ is busy saving his skin and not adding any value to RB.Look at his contradicting statements. From the bottom of my heart,I feel its not too late for RB to turn around and do the needfull. He wont be pleasing the post but every well meaning zambian.
    RB!IST NOT TOO LATE!

  14. I agree with you FTJ 101% . It is inconceivable to think or even suggest that Levy was fighting corruption. Having said that, I want to pause the question, we will ever know the real reason why Levy proceeded in the manner he did regarding FTJ? Definitely it was not corruption. What is it that hurts a man so much that he must whip a friend in the manner Levy did? A good social studies pupil will discern this much.
FTJ please move on. We thank God for you. May the good lord give you good health and long life. I am aware you have made mistakes and alot of them at that it is the human aspect. Those that call for your blood are worse sinners they talk about what they do not know nor understand.

  15. Lazo! FTJ talks too much when he knows that his acquittal was a favour from RB.Let the appeal be allowed n he can defend himself in court and clear his name for good. Why is he afarid to go back to court?

  16. As much as he may not be in your opinions the best of pipo/. What he has said is true, the cases were politically instigated. Its application was selective. The task was not a legal entity and evem the LPM said that the had to formalise it.

  17. Sata-nists should remember that their ‘great’ leader at one time challenged the legality of the task force.Double standards ka?

  18. A thief is a thief!
You can tell by the number of shoes, pants,Girlfriends and monies he can not explain that he has in a Government account! He is even capable of buying a wife using stolen money.

    What a shame!

  19. We will never progress pa zed when we have ifipuba kwati number 15. How can you glorify kabolala kafupi. Oli chipuba

  20. This is a shallow argument Dr. Chiluba is bringing up. he knows that the Constitution gives the President power to create an institution and when the President creates one it becomes legal. I don’t have article numbers on my fingertips. But Dr. Chiluba knows this! So because an institution was created to investigate him it does not become legal to him ? Besides it was a Taskforce which is not meant to last forever but carry out a specific task and finish. Dr. Chiluba just wants to confuse simple minds. He should have allowed an appeal to have been instituted so that he could have cleared himself at the highest level( Supreme Court )

  21. IF KAFUPI HAS NO RESPECT FOR TASK FORCE,HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE ZAMBIAN JUDICIARY AND HIS AQUITAL.SIMPLE.

  22. “We respect the Judiciary but this process was tainted with illegalities and underhand methods from the beginning.”

he says the above, this means that even judgement was an under hand method used. Which means Chiluba bribed the judiciary for him to have been aquitted. It makes sense to say the judgment was one made out of corruption, that is why his friends cannot appeal, as its a likely guarantee that he would be found guilty by the supreme court. This is clear from his own words.

  23. Chiluba be grateful for the temporary life you have. If a new govt comes into power you will back in the courts as you are a thief. You stole poor zambian peoples money to enrich yourself and buying all those high shoes to make you tall and the ambi to lighten your skin. What a shame you must be going crazy wanting to look yellow. Black is beautiful. You need to learn to shut your mouth as everything you say will bring you problems. Are the ARV’s making you talk like this?

  24. African justice is about fixing your opponents. This is very true of Zambia and its late Levy Mwanawasa. The New Deal government failed to take clear cut cases to court, like the US$150 million cobalt scam, but instead it was quick to prosecute those unfriendly to the president with petty theft.

It’s always about revenge and getting even. It’s never about what Zambia and its people want.

  25. Zedians, are we just going to sit there and watch this thief, plunderer of economies and wives, constantly open his stinking mouth? Something MUST be done. This lisholi should be chained – for good. He stinks. W’a nunka. How dare he insults us on a daily basis?

  26. Angel Light # 29 The reason you are seeing this hatred to the former President (Chiluba in particular) is because he’s been talking too much and all he says is crap. He should learn for once to keep quiet. If he thinks all the allegations were politicized, let him go back to the court so that he can be vindicated. I don’t want to sound blunt and disrespectful to our current President. It seems he (Mr R Banda) Has been brain washed. And this is disgusting to say the least. Not long, Chiluba was very quiet and seldom spoke. The only time he would speak, will be when leaving for his medical check or his condition can not allow him to do some activities. Now, from the time he was acquitted, he has a big mouth.Bembas say chimbwi ukulila kano pali eko ashintilile amatako.Where are you leaning?

  27. FTJ will never walk with his head high coz we all know he’s a thief and wife grabber. With a sick heart, he beter get a break from politics and enjoy his “freedom” with family.

  28. If FTJ is a thief how about the Good guys at Zambian Airways who pocketed US$2 million Air Passenger Fees without the permission of the National Air ports Corp? These good guys were just doing business tefyo? How about the US$5 million they got from DBZ without offering any collateral? Its okay these are the good guys but only Katele Kalumba who was given US$2,000 by the OOP is the corrupt one tefyo? Why cant people be rational sometimes?

  29. Chiluba has no respect for Task Force? Of course he doessn’t. Neither does Rupiah. That’s why they jointly disbanded it. So what else is new?

  30. #21.I am normally not in the habit of responding to people who use language like you have used. Until you learn that you could engage others in serious discourse without disrespecting yourself in the manner you did you will never move from the level where you are. It is wisdom to ask why others may see things a little different. In the particular case, It is wise to ask why I for instance I feel Levy was not fighting corruption at all. May be if you bothered to look again, you may come to the same conclusion. My fellow Zambian, it takes a little more than jut reading Mmembe’s news paper to see that. There is no evidence to even suggest Levy was indeed fighting corruption and that has been the basis of the FTJ hatred. Thus I believe the FTJ animosity was created.I seek to understand why?

  31. :):):) Ba Titus Mpundu naimwe mwe bana be ule Diana Kaimba, mulesuminako fimo. Task force was meant to get thieves like you who store money from the people of Zambia. Don’t try to mislead us thinking that you are the cleverest man on earth.:o:o:o:o

  32. Chiluba, speak as you may, you still remain a thief. Another truth is Mwanawasa is missed, Kaunda is missed by the general public in Zambia as well as at international level. Be honest with yourself, who speaks about you highly as they do Kaunda? as the do Mwanawasa? Let me say this that while mwanawasa’s news of his death brought about utter quiteness and a somber mood around town center, news about your death would be recieved with rejoicing untold because peolpe cant stomach your your character of stealing to the point of leting people die out hunger especially in southern province. This maize in the field would demonstrate because the Monkey would have died.

  33. Reality Check could be right. I’ve a feeling Kafupi kanono must have drunk H2O from Ba LPM’s Cistern pantu takwabafwe. Elo Kafupi talapila he did the same to another man & unfortunately history has finally been recorded. Nkhungu Kafupi, thanks for putting my mind at rest coz i really wondered about the taskforce too and this proves that your victory is fake…. Uleisalako na kanwa limo

  34. All those people that queued behind this short dwarf are now wondering what screwed them senseless. VOTE MMD, now what with MMD? Wll, you did and got what you wanted. millions of people died under the regime of Kafupi, due to hunger and illness, kafupi the dark angel

MMD still blame colonisation for under performing, but since they took over, they never did anything for their people, the west is still feeding them, and all they are doing is arresting innocent people for petty things – the whole president is found meddling in silly talk. REPAIR the country, build more houses for your people and reduce overcroweding. Build the infrastructure and develop the health system – stop bullying your own people. It is not colonisation that’s killing the children of Zambia, it’s GRZ WAKE UP!!!!
