THE Government has announced that public service employees who do not receive their salaries through the Direct Debit and Credit Clearing (DDACC) system would receive their pay this week.
According to a statement released in Lusaka yesterday by Secretary to the Cabinet Joshua Kanganja, Government employees already on the DDACC system started receiving their salaries last week.
He apologised to the affected Government employees for the inconvenience and hardships caused by the dalayed salaries.
“We apologise to the affected Government employees for the inconvenience and hardship caused by the late payments of salaries,” he said.
Dr Kanganja has, however, assured the affected workers that the administrative and technical challenges that led to the recent delayed payment of salaries have been identified, and that appropriate measures had been instituted to avoid similar occurrences in the future.
“The administrative/ technical challenges that led to the recent late payment of salaries have been identified and appropriate remedial measures have been put in place to avoid delayed payment of salaries in the future,” Dr Kanganja said.

Late payment of salaries can be much more better than non-payment at ALL. They say it is better to be late than the late. Come on Government workers, as if you don’t receive your salaries always on time! Ask us and we will tell you.
#1. I ve asked now tell us:-?:-?:-?
JayJay Issues of Salaries are not sumthing to play around with, were i work if we receive the salary 1day into the following month some1 has to explain why, Govt workers are just taken 4granted and its not funny at all.
People is it just me or has the dollar reached K 5,200?:-?:-?:-?:-?:-?:-?
The apology is not accepted. It is amazing salaries for ministers are never delayed. Anyway they are decampagning themselves by keeping families on an empty stomach. Can Kanganja explain how they can fight corruption when people’s merger salaries are delayed. We cannot go on like this, I would understand if it is the first time this has happened. Please pitty the children of the affected workers and do something differently then we will get different results.
The bottom line is that the Secretary to Cabinent has at least apolologised and it is my prayer that we have learnt something from the delays and avoid the problem in future.
Becauze this iz not the 1stime public workerz salariez are delayed, it iz tricky to accept the appology. But since Kanganja iz a technochrat and not a politician, who should mean what he says, (“administrative/technical challengez have been identified and measurez put in place to avoid the delay happening in future”), give him the benefit of doubt.
Was his salary delayed too? Its f.o.o.l.ishness to say sorry when you dont mean it, better shut up than taking a mickey on the poor civil servants. Very disgusting indeed.
yeah good question, was his salary delayed bcos its pointless saying sorry when ur not affected at all.The dollar has reached 5200
#1jayjay is a sicko.
Announcement: Salaries will be further delayed because RB will be using the available cash to pay trade union leaders who are with him in Mfuwe. He also has to use the balance for his world cup watching trip to South Africa.
All government workers are encourage to do more gardening to ensure food availability until we take over government next year.
# 9. Not so funny man, banthu bavutika anyway such are results of voting for ba chimbwi no plan, 2day we are being told its becoz of DDACC System.
Shut up all you s.t.u.p.i.d cretins who are criticising my statement. Don’t you know that we operate a dual system where leaders receive their salaries and wages before any ordinary citizen gets theirs? This ensures that leaders never go on strike. If leaders like me and the politicians were to go on strike, who would lead the country? Learn to respect your leaders! Besides, leaders are hungrier and need money more than you who feast on just about anything.
BULLSHIT Doctor!

The new pay day is the 38th of every month. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted.
Government Robbing Zonse – they had the money to give kanitundila to go on local holiday after he has landed from a foreign holiday, and yet they cannot pay the people who are slaving in the dusty offices with broken furniture and no lights their salaries on time? Come, how much do civil servants get that they shouldnt paid on time? I work as a civil servant here, we religiously get paid on 30th, and if the 30th falls on sunday, we get paid on friday 28th.
This type of executive ceamonsption and bonus packages has been going on forever…it was only when everyone’s 401-K took a dump that we started noticing.I like #4 as well…Otherwise, hello John Galt.Of course, John Galt would never have asked to be bailed out.
