Zambia Police says investigations into the shooting incident involving Health Deputy Minister Solomon Musonda are progressing well.
Zambia Police Spokesperson Bonny Kapeso told QFM in an interview this morning that investigations are still on course.
He appeals to Zambians to remain calm and patient as police do their job professionally on the matter.
Health Deputy Minister Dr. Solomon Musonda on Tuesday last week shot and wounded an opposition Patriotic Front cadre, Jackson Musaka on his forehead in Serenje district.
The incident happened around 17:50 hours in an area called Lubembe within Serenje district.
Police have since recorded a warn and caution statement from Dr. Musonda for attempted murder.
No pleeeeeese not again, he’s should be in police custody he’s a dangerous criminal and if he shoots another person while you still recording a warn and caution statement? whats professional about leaving a potential serial killer on the streets?
Let him be locked up so that he helps the Police with Investigations!
I don’t understand how the investigations are goin well, when the culprit called Solomon is on the streets walking freely.what if he shoots another person, wil they keep on jst recording the same so called caution statements?there is no need for caution here, the man should be behind bar’s,while the investigations go on,this is wat applys to ordianry citizens.Solomon is a danger to the community.ZP do your job and cage that criminal.wats wrong with zambia kanshi[-([-([-(
He might be given a chance to run away…..
He should be incarcerated right now as he a danger to society. It “not going well” as you folks are taking too long and waiting for that fat RB to decide as he is the almighty – his fcuk fat-musula Dictator!
:o… pliz arrest that maniac coz he is a danger to society just like the ex-convict chilufya sata was before he met sunny hichilema… zambia
cage him first then continue with probing. this is nonsense. how do you keep a murderer free while probing. soon all those rubish will be trashed. fuc.k you police. MMM carders.
This issue of having different laws to apply depending on the status one carry’s is very retrogressive.if it was someone frm the opposition or jst a mare ordinary zambian, rite now the story cld have been different.the fact is that this is a criminal case and therefore this solomon needs to be treated the same way others are treated.how can they let him walk the streets of lusaka with just a warn and caution statement from Solomon,a man who sore oath to save lives, and yet he is doin the opposite, shooting people..and all the ZP can say is the investigations are goin on well,MALABISH..
With general elections coming up there needs to be zero tolerance for violence. All this warn and caution BS is not helping anyone.
Of course the investigationz are going on well; the man iz still a minister and freely walking the streets of Zambia.
” investigations are progressing well ” ?? what the FLIP does that mean ???
Imagine if it were a PF or a UPND MP? These suckers are the ones who placed HH on house arrest in N/W prov not so long ago…” investigations going well”, my foot! Right now they are hounding those police officers who protested against the Police IG (the P.I.G) when the minister is on the loose. What a limp statement!
The PF thug was trying to hijack honourable Musonda’s vehicle before he had a bullet in his head.Thats the other side of the story, and hence no arrests made so far.
well. us Zambian just talk too much without action. we need people who are willing to be slaughtered for things to change otherwise just talking without action is vain pursue. we need action and sacrifice for our children for the better future. we are cowards who know what they want failing and really sacrifice our comfort. we shall continue complaining without geting any result. power is with the people let us mobilise our selves and march on to who ever we think is hindring progress. otherwise stop ranting fools.
you make me sick with your ranting.
viva action action not just ukulabwatatatafye with action close your dirty mouths
there no investigation going well. i know what these fu*ckers mean when they say “well”
Mr Kapeso, There is NO professionalism in the way you are handling this issue. We are not fools. Someone at the top is pulling the strings and you are merely dancing to his tune, Shame on you! Chris Chalwe is still walking the streets unworried. RUBBISH!
This police spokeman is not ashamed of himself. What does he mean. If it where a senior member of the opposition, the polioce would have been conducting their professional work while the suspect was in jail. Selective justice in Zed.
we know what it means the case is going well, they are ku tarven discussing the case. malabishi
Investi what ,musana wobe……………..there is gun and a dead body and u say investigate investigate ,wait ,we are coming -PACT
Imwe ba Zambia police, this is a very serious issue. How is it that when a poor fellow citizen commits even just a minor crime he is instantly locked up,and when another zambian citizen commits a major criminal offence like ka musondas attempted murder then all you do is investigate and even take your time .It is not right and it is not fair.
We are waiting for the poor pf kaponya to get healed so that we can slap a charge on him.MOTOR THEFT OF SOME SORT.Dr Musonda will be one of the state witnesses…….hahaha…ha…
Ladies and gentlemen blogging here, please understand that it must be hard to be a cop in Zambia. here is the situation: You are a trained cop so your only possible employer is GRZ. If GRZ fires you, no one else will employee you as a cop! You know what to do but the hand that feeds you says otherwise. Your only other source of income comes from bribes which you get by being a cop. So simply put, out of being a cop, out of money. These cops know what to do but their arms are twisted. havent you noticed that the statement from the Police is in tandem with GRZ (shikapwasha) and yet the two are supposed to be independent.
All the blame goes to the govt. I pity the Zambian cops….its hard being a cop in Zambia!
this is utter rubbish..stop wasting our time …arrest the bugger ala..is he above the law?
When is solomon’s gun to appear in court for attempted murder? Solomon should be the key witness for the defence.
If it were Hon Willie Nsanda, inonshita nga alibola mujele.
What are you waiting for RB. Fire the man so that investigations can be carried out polopali!
Anybody remember the ZA case? Investigations have been going on ‘well’. Mulondwe Muzungu’s potential murder case? Investigations have been going on ‘well’. I am beginning to suspect ‘going on well’ is just a metaphor for ‘forget it, we ain’t doing jack sheet about it’. What is so complicated about the Musonda case? The man shot another human being. He has admitted as such, the victim has identified the pepertrator. Or are they waiting for ‘instructions from above’? After all, it seems that is how the IG operates, and he has publicly stated it, re the Mufumbwe incidence.
Fr Frank Bwalya distributes a red card. Was any investigation carried out? Hell no! The man was instantly locked up, and then investigations started. These double standards are what has contributed to the unprofessionalism associated with the Police Force (they are yet to be service in my eyes).
# 21 The Legacy… Yes, that’s the bottom line…….Generally in the so called developing countries that is the situation. What would be the expected action by the authoritues in developed countries is very different from that of African or other developing countries. I guess one could say that the human rights situation in Africa is still evollving and does get interpreted differently , coz in other ways it has it’s aspects which are more ‘evolved’ than the developed countries. The economics of survival in places like Zed and other ‘developing’ countries place very different values on morality and human rights as compared to the west. I hope i’m making sense here , but after saying all this …it is still an animal farm situation in Zed. It reminds one of medieval Europe.
This incident has really fefied all reasoning. Only the zambian police understand this situation. Whatever it is this is double standards. If this shooting was done by a Kaponya he/she should have been locked up, but because it is a so called minister, police are relactant to act, shame on us. This is a shame. This is attempted murder period. Explanations later.
#21 The Lord SITH…thats exactly my point. Zambia Police has a lot of graduates and good cops who know what to do and do it well BUT! its not the right thing they should do but what the powers want.
Whats the solution, vote out MMD, put in UPND or PF or both, if they dont deliver QUICKLY vote them out and put others. This way these poly-ticks will learn that they are not gods and should do the right thing.
# 30 The Legacy……Exactly …, and your take on the solution is also the way i see this kind of poly ticks would naturally progress .!..
.Sadly that takes a generation or two and people want to see results now . .!. Unless ofcourse there occurs forced events. …
……Perhaps the great God should intervene …..:)
Bonnie Kapeso: Am pleased to inform the nation that the probe into the shooting is going well, and hopefully, we should conclude phase one of our investigations somewhere around december 2011.
It seems our police force is no longer capable in taking care of us. We have to start defending ourselves therefore we will organize and hunt down Solomon. We will make sure we give him an exact match of what he gave to an innocent and courageous youth. After that we hope we will not be arrested!!! Come on RB what goes up will go down some day, you will be answerable for all the pain that you are causing us. You are the worst President that we Country has ever had SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR S.T.U.P.I.D police force who are useless. We are better off without you and your team.
# 30The Legacy_ I dont know if you have heard this. Mr Kabonde has drawn up a list of mainly graduate senior officers with a view to have them retired. This was after these officers expressed disatifaction at the way Mufumbwe was handled. Infact if you ask some police men they will tell you that if they had an alternative they were going to leave ZP
# 30 Legacy…I agree with you however, just like what #31 has pointed out that will take years to be achieved. The problem that is taking us backwards is poverty so many Zambians will do anything as long as they are bribed. Most of the elections are not fair becoz we as a people lack principles, we cannot stand for what is right. Those that are involved in counting of elections are bribed so that the ruling party wins by all means. We need to be well informed of our rights so that nobody takes us for granted not even RB.
fellow bloggers and lovers of mother zambia, is it possible for us to effect a citizens arrest on solomon?
#36 that is a good idea, how do we do that???
#36 Good idea, advice how we can go about it. My fingers are arching of blogging into air.
Don’t you know I’m MORE equal than OTHERS??? :d
