THE Patriotic Front (PF) women in Ndola have said that they want a woman to contest the Chifubu by-election on the PF ticket.
PF Ndola women’s chairperson Alice Kafula said yesterday during a press
briefing that the women in the party in Ndola would prefer a woman candidate if a credible woman could be found to contest the seat.
“If a credible woman can be found, we prefer a woman to stand on the PF
ticket. It is about time there was a female parliamentarian to represent the Chifubu constituency,” Ms Kafula said.
She said it was the view of the PF women in Ndola that since the city had four constituencies, the seats should be shared equally between men and women.
Ms Kafula however said that if a woman had to be selected, it should be one of high caliber and not a puppet.
She said her leadership was therefore currently sensitizing women at the
grass root level to encourage them to seek leadership roles in the party and the country.
At the same press briefing, Ms Kafula welcomed back a former PF chairperson for Ndola PF Agness Chomba to the party. Ms Chomba had left the PF in 2006 to join the MMD.
And PF Ndola chairperson Rebby Chanda said the district leadership was in support of the women’s decision to field a female candidate in the forth coming by election.
Mr Chanda said it was only fair that a woman was selected this time around as a parliamentarian.
He said women were capable leaders just like men were.
Mr Chanda however warned all women vying for the Chifubu seat in the PF to be credible and not turn into rebels after winning the election

Its really a great call,I have no doubts than women can do better than other men who are in power.
It is really good that there are women who think in that manner, women have the capacity to work just like men and hence to give the chance to save their constituencies in leadership position not always showing their participation in dancing for the politicians. It is really high time women rose and be recognized and counted to offer leadership in the country. As said that woman must be a puppet but a strong and focused person with a desire to serve the people and her constituency effectively. All the best chifubu women!
VIVA PF VIVA PACT
With the exception of political prostitutes like Molobeka, Sinyangwe, and Sampa-Bredt, women are generally very decent folk and operate on the basis of principles. I strongly support this view. Even for the Presidency I would personally feel very comfortable with someone like Inonge Wina, the PF Chairperson.
NOW YOU ARE TALKING SENSE, NO IFI FI NATIONALISATION IFYA BU PUBA!
We don’t need any more women MPs they should just stick to being our wivies nothing more one of them sold Zamtel not too ago ( Dora) . Ha ha!
Hope she wont be impregnated by Satan.
That sounds cool, women for power that is not strange go go forward ladies, yes you can
Elyoni Elyoni Sansakuwa. Chinshi chakwebwa Sansakuwa. Pye pye pye (whistling) Sansakuwa. You remind me of my childhood.
THIS IS A VERY WELCOME SENTIMENT FROM NDOLA WOMEN. YES! INFACT ZAMBIAN WOMEN ARE VERY EDUCATED, WITH A LOT OF WISDOM AND INTELLECT. AS OTHERS HAVE POINTED OUT THE CHOSEN WOMAN SHOULD BE OF HIGH INTEGRITY AND NOT JUST USE PF TO BE UP THERE.
Yes this is a good idea but the problem I have seen in Zambia when it comes to women politicians, is they don’t stand their grounds when the moment of making a solid decision comes. Look at Ms. Sikazwe, Chitika Mulobeka and including Ms Kafula who was in PF then changed to MMD and now back to PF. How can you trust women? Ms. Nawakwi was at the forefront in support for Rupiya Banda and now she is condenming him. So with all this experiences behind me, I am a little bit not very sure about the woman candidate
