THE MMD says it will not adopt Kafulafuta member of Parliament (MP) George Mpombo and his Chilanga counterpart Ng’andu Magande to stand on the party ticket in the 2011 general elections.
MMD national chairman Michael Mabenga said the two have been a disgrace to the party.
“Whatever the two MPs have been issuing in the media to discredit the MMD is uncalled for and senseless,” Mr Mabenga said.
He said in an interview yesterday that the MMD is in the process of finding ideal candidates to field in the Kafulafuta and Chilanga constituencies because the current MPs have their own agenda.
“We are looking for candidates who will replace Mr Mpombo and Mr Magande,” Mr Mabenga said.
He said the two do not deserve to stand on the MMD ticket because they are not loyal to the party.
“Because of their retrogressive remarks against the ruling party, they have lost popularity in their constituencies…people in their constituencies are fed up of them,” he said.

“Mr Mabenga cannot stop me from standing in Chilanga Constituency…he cannot compete with me even if he was to stand in my constituency,” he said.[/pullquote]
And Mr Mabenga said the MMD leadership will soon deal with erring members of the party, including Mr Mpombo and Mr Magande.
“We are not scared of anyone. It is just that we are following the laid down procedures before disciplining erring members,” Mr Mabenga said.
He said the MMD is a party that believes in its constitution and that it cannot rush things.
“Very soon, all erring members will be dealt with,” Mr Mabenga said.
When contacted for comment, Mr Magande said Mr Mabenga is not the person who adopts members to stand on the party ticket.
“Mr Mabenga cannot stop me from standing in Chilanga Constituency…he cannot compete with me even if he was to stand in my constituency,” he said.
Meanwhile, Copperbelt MMD chairman Joseph Chilambwe has threatened to block Chilanga MMD member of Parliament Ng’andu Magande from attending the party’s next national executive committee (NEC) meeting.
“I will personally block Mr Magande from attending the next NEC meeting. We cannot allow him and Mr George Mpombo to continue attacking the MMD, the party that they represent in Parliament. We are tired of their insults,” Mr Chilambwe said.
He said in an interview in Luanshya yesterday that the MMD on the Copperbelt will demand that Mr Magande be suspended from the party for his continued outbursts.
[pullquote]“I will personally block Mr Magande from attending the next NEC meeting. We cannot allow him and Mr George Mpombo to continue attacking the MMD, the party that they represent in Parliament. We are tired of their insults,” Mr Chilambwe said.[/pullquote]
“We are wondering why Mr Magande should say Zambians will change Government in 2011 when he is part of the ruling party. If he is not careful, he will be forced out of the party…he is a member of NEC who should protect the party instead of insulting it,” he said.
Mr Chilambwe said there is need to discipline party members who disrespect the top leadership.
He said the MMD on the Copperbelt is united and warned that the party will take action against undisciplined members.

“I don’t see how releasing the RP Capital report will help the citizen because they will not even understand it. It is just figures on paper. I would advise people to instead listen to the rational explanation of the government over the Zamtel sale.” Mutati said.
Chimutu kuyipa mabenga. You cant just shut up mr CDF.Chioneni pamenso kuyipa bati!
Strange, only in MMD is where someone who has not given back the stolen Constituency Development Funds can have the impetus to finger point others. Yes Mpombo and Magande do not qualify to stand on MMD ticket becouse they never store. The MMD criteria is simple, the more you store the better your chances to stand on the MMD ticket.
So, Mutati why enter into something you are not able to understand? Or do you mean to say only you and RB can understand while the rest of Zambians can’t? And what is your job if one of them isn’t to explain to Zambians the contents of any agreement you make concerning public properties? Just publish the report and let citizens tell you that they don’t understand it.
Mr Mabenga, those are other free seats for PF and the pact. Or else to independent candidates themselves, should they decide to stand on independent tickets.
Ba Mabenga, and the rebel PF MPs, you think we will waste our time adopting them, what i can assure you is that while it will be easy for PF/UPND Pact to win back the seats occupied by rebels, it will be extremely difficult for you to win back your seats…look at slowezi and soon Luena and Chifubu…
another chance for PF VIVA PACT
Finger pointing has rocked MMD :d/
Snakes, please RB beware of Mabenga and Co. They obeyed every word LPM said, but to day they will deny that they part of LPMs’ decisions
Good, let them stand as Independents that is if they have the money, otherwise let them move to the Pact which will entertain their insults whenever they feel the urge to tell off Hichilema or Sata.
Mr. CDF, is speaking out your mind on genuine issues not considered to be loyal? Please take a leaf from Katele and step down from party affairs, you will d the MMD a great favour
Let Magande and Mpombo join the Pact. It will make us stronger. We can field them in their respective constituencies and we will win. Viva Pact! 2011 here we come!
He he he…
Lets go PACT. MMD is divided and is falling. Make sure to stop that unruly and illiterate Chilambwe.
Magande has never attacked anyone but attacked the stupid policies that our so called leaders have chosen which have led us back to the Chiluba poverty days. Someone has to stand for the right thing, even when you see your family members doing the wrong thing, point them out.
Democracy at its best……
May God forgive our leaders for luck of wisdom
what a shame this country is >>>>>>>>>>
MMD is falling, brick by brick, when does challenging RB become an offence.
Politics of hauling UNIP jackals, that’s what. In the meantime, my aunt in Barotseland has no Panadol.
magande and mpombo are very ambitious bums who think one day they can rule this country. pipo talk of change for sake of it but i will not be part of that fortunately the majority of zambians are on my side. the non existant pact is a sheer waste of time and mpombo or magande are not joining it bcos they see hope only in mmd thats why they are clinging to the party they insult daily. if pf or upnd were anything to write home about these rebel mmd mps wud have joined
Anything that utters any shit against Bwezani Mphuno becomes a hero for some news media organisations. I pity both those same morons and the gullible twits who afford them the time.
#2 MMD Yasila – wansekesha sana ati chioneni pamenso yaba..
:-@:-@:-@:-@:-@:-@
Bad eggs kick them out. shown them that in an organisation or club, rules should be abided by members.
I don’t think Mpombo and Magande will add any value to the Pact. They were both once in UPND and left for what I now believe were selfish reasons. Now that they think they stand a better chance of winning their seats on Pact ticket they are.heroes in some people’s eyes. The Pact is better off without them demagogues!
Mabenga should know that even if they blocked Mpombo and Mngande, RB will never stand a chance in the 2011 elections. I would advise him to allow these capable men to challege Banda. Are you paid to block everyone you see has some potential.Dora also she should shut up,she has even failed to recruit teacher , where on earth did you see the government recruiting teacher in January and be told to report in October.MMD is really full of thieves. Mangande should stand no matter what.
Vitali #23 you have a point.
PF expelled the rebels but they went and obtained an injunction cause they know that without the backing of PF they are nothing. They would any bye elections that would result to the Pact. On the other hand MMD is afraid of expelling its rebel MPs Mpombo and Magande for fear that MMD will lose the seats to the Pact should by elections be held. So it is fallacy for Machungwa, Chifire, Siliya, MMD or for anyone to claim that the Pact is not working when they are dead scared of any bye elections as they are aware the Pact will win the seats. How else would they explain the tolerance they have exhibited of Mpombo and Magande. Why are they afraid of expelling them but instead telling them to resign. PF expelled its rebels, so why dont the MMD do the same?
Iwe ‘constituency funds eater’ What about you, will you be adopted on MMD?
Mabenga, Magande these guyz are all the same what we need is change thats all.OH! and the latters in their names, Magande and Mabenga….shuffle the latters and let let d face the opposite direction to become b hahahaha!
#Observa, learn to shut your mouth if you do not know anything about certain names in zambia. Mabenga is Lozi from Sesheke and Magande is Tonga from Mazabuka, what hahahaha are you talking about, please stop displaying your ignorance on this blog. What do you mean by saying Mabenga and Magande are the same?, these are totally different people Mabenga stole CDF money from my people of Sesheke while Magande was in charge of our treasury and left it without a dent hence he is the most clean person in MMD. Actually he is misplaced to belong to a group of thieves called MMD because the man is too clean.
Viva pact 2011.
Why would mr. minister waste Zambians time talking about Mpombo and Mabenga when thet (MMD) should be pressuring Mr. Banda their leader to bring discipline into his cabinet ministers? Here is a criminal, troting with a gun, who does not respect the laws of the country receiving sympath from a president. instead of the president dropping from his cabinet and calling on the police to charge him as a sign of telling the rest of his ministers that he does not condene criminals to continue to work with him. Banda’s silence is a sign that he too if he had a way could do it. Or he could use gioverment machinery to do it for him. I am sorry to say this but the preseident has left Zambians with no options. 🙁
Doesn’t Mpombo’s headlines in the post remind you of Citizen on this blog? Much as Mpombo and Magande might have points, i tend to believe they are grown ups who ought to to obey rules of every organisation they belong to. For some reason Ng’ande thinks he is the best this country has had and can win any election on any party. How can he for heavens sake challenge Mabenga that he cant beat him in Chilanga when not every one voted for him in Chilanga? We all know that there was even a petition there. Is he sure he can pull a win in Mabenga’s constituency? I am beginning to doubt these people that i thought were wise and educated. They both came from UPND and they are trying to go back but are so shameful that the only thing to do is to be seen to be champion of democracy. They are…
Mpombo and Magande are not for MMD and this the core reason as to why they are exhibting such kind of behaviour. Both want to go back to their roots(original party came from)
They are bigots and the younger generation needs to wake up and not get soiled by such type of politics. Mature politicians stick to principles and never play to the gallery. It explains why they cant stay in one party.
yaba! ni magande and mpombo everyday . . .what a country of fools
I am back people ..I am back ,My Pentium 1 computer crashed a few years back, now I got a new one ..much improved Pentium 2 with a mind bending 20 gig hard drive ……its good to be back on the NET

tell me why you want to change govt is it for the sake of change or pact will do better. so far pact hasnt told me what they intend to do apart from criticizing everything govt does. schools, roads, hospitals, good agric policy, bumber havest not more money in my pocket bubela bwatama
**===))
Michael Mabenga should just keep quiet, he is not a credible leader, he’s very lucky to be outside prison. He and Chiluba should be sharing a prison cell at Kamwala Prison. Why us Zambians allow such scambugs to defile us , i really don’t understand. First Mabenga steals CDF money and the courts find him wanting. Who let him off the hook?
The day of reckoning is near for the entire MMD, and those who have had their long, dirty fingers in the national till will pay heavily once the another party forms government.
This thief Mabenge..very dull CDF thief. Please mr CDF spare your wife and children from shame.
Waite for 2011, we will cage all lot of you thieves. We will start with the chief thief chiluba and then you Mabenga…chikawalala iwe. FUSEKE..:)>-:)>-:)>-
ba chikala tetimwaikalafye ,little did i know that you were dullard as same as your boss nyamasoya
ba chikala tetimwaikalafye ,little did i know that you were dullard as same as your boss nyamasoya.magande and mpombo are intellectuals like me,no wonder they are clean always amano kwati baliyabengula.
lets remain united, God is love Zambia 4 all, Situation in the Country is not Okay.
My silence has compromised my conscience. It is a duty and obligation of every Zambian citizen to speak out on national issues without been intimidation from those who hold opposite views this is what we were taught in Civic as school. Every Zambian citizen has rights, duties and obligates to question the government. The currently happening in our country is not benefiting at all looking at Mufumbwe violence, the conduct of entire police service, the conduct of those who are trained to serve lives one does not need to be a professional to denounce this threaten to peace and security of our country.
The government should be reminded that the people’s mandate should not be abused by those discharged with the responsibility of governing this country. The people have the mandate to change…
I find it strange that somany of my fellow Zambians thinks that RB is actually a leader, the man and his sons are robbing this country blind, if you don’t believe me visit his farm and his sons now palaces… this reminds me of Sadam and his sons and you see how they ended up… for those who thin that Magande and Mpombo are doing something wrong you all need to listen to their views and then you will understand that they are the only ones who will call it like it is, all others are just dancing to RB tune for money.
The true reason why RB and his followers are so afraid of Magande and Mpombo is because they know that these 2 are not corruptible and therefore if either of them came to power all of the crooks from MMD will go to jail… so all this is to prevent their day of reckoning from coming but God is not sleeping and if RB and his sons thinks they can continue rape with impunity, they all better think again…. Judgment day is coming and they all will be back in the streets begging for cigarette money like they did before LPM took him out of the pig sty.
Bakaamba muli chipuba sana.Ni mwe muleonaula MMD.Mr CDF please wake up from your slumber. You seem to dreaming everytime you open your mouth. If you have nothing democratic to offer , shut up!
