President Rupiah Banda has said only the politically blind Zambians were not seeing the developmental projects Government was implementing in all parts of the country. The President said this upon arrival at Ndola International Airport Friday ahead of tomorrow’s official opening of the Zambia International Trade Fair to be graced by Botswana President, Lieutenant General Seretse Ian Khama.
Speaking to a huge gathering that received him at the airport, President Banda said the ruling MMD party was national in character, represented by every tribe, province and district. The President Banda said only the MMD Government and former ruling party UNIP had worked on most of the roads of the nation which had never been rehabilitated for over 20 years.
The President said the ruling MMD government had brought development in many areas of Zambia’s economy such as the construction of schools and health institutions and many others.President Banda urged the MMD leaders in Ndola to remain focused and amicable and choose a candidate to float during the forthcoming Chifubu by elections who he said he would support fully.

He said the MMD should embark on a door to door campaign to ensure that the party scoops the vacant seat. In a related development, President Banda urged the MMD to campaign hard and win all the nine local government elections around the country as well. Speaking about his health status, he said he was fit and sure that he and the MMD will win the 2011 general elections after telling the people the truth about how the ruling party had delivered over the many years it had been in power.
He said he would campaign vigorously and reach every village in Zambia. Speaking about the welfare of traditional leaders, President Banda said it was only the MMD that started refurbishing and electrifying the chiefs’ palaces. The President commended all Zambians for being peaceful people resulting in other African Heads of State expressing their desire to visit Zambia.
[pullquote]In reference to the UPND President Hakainde Hichilema, the President said the opposition should stop using abusive language and showing desperation to rule Zambia, adding that there were many more Zambians who were young better qualified than him.[/pullquote]
In reference to the UPND President Hakainde Hichilema, the President said the opposition should stop using abusive language and showing desperation to rule Zambia, adding that there were many more Zambians who were young better qualified than him. Upon arrival at Ndola International Airport,
President Banda was received by Copperbelt Provincial Minister Mwansa Mbulakulima, Provincial MMD ChairPERSON Joseph Chilambwe, Service Chiefs and other Senior MMD and Government officials.
He was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Kabinga Pande, other Senior Government and MMD officials.
ZANIS
Good Evening
With all due respect Mr. President, the hands can only touch what the eyes can see. If indeed development can be seen, is it too much when the people of Zambia desire to touch it, feel it… and yes, to become a part of it aswell? In short, we will only believe there’s development in Zambia when the educational facilities, employment opportunities and health services stop coming in short supply.
Rupiah Banda, President of Zambia, you are a demented old man and a danger to the citizens of Zambia.
Mr. President you cant fool people like this! Explain your actions at the washington embassy!
#3 Please can you stop being an impostor please. Please ignore the comments from #3 He is a fake. Am going back to SA and should start blogging from there in mid july. Just ignore the fake above
I think RB means development in the negative sense.Look @ Ndola were the trade fair is being hosted. From a prosperous city that hosted multinationals such as Dunlop,Johnson and Johnson,Lever brothers,Reckitt and colmann,Land Rover assembly plant etc some good thirty years ago today is struggling economically. The once busy and noisy industrial area is today a very quiet jungle were one can only hear birds chirping! Great, Zambia is developing and we are blind, what an insult!
I think some of us need double zoom glasses to see what our beloved president is talking about. Maybe some of you guys with good eyes can help me see what this man is talking about.
Please take him to chainama, thats where he belongs. Thats all I can say about this demented president.
What development is he talking about? we cant wee it .
The Challenger jet costs approx $4000 per hour each flying slot.
Imagine what could be built if this nonsense constant traveling is stopped.
Let him put a ban for one month on his flamboyant lifestyle.

I think you are the impositor yourself! If you are real why cant you change your pic or just say who you really are! I am sure you using that pic to hide your real Senior Citizen, Mwata self! By now we know who you really are= Ben Kangwa. #3 good job and no one can label you as an impositor. There is no Zambian by the name “MMD Chief Boot Licker” and you cant be called an impositor if no one can prove that their legal name is mmd chief boot licker! #4 Get a life and hide your ugly cries somewhere! You think you own LT?
Thanks fellow bloggers! I will soon blog from SA because of the evil of MMD.
Oh so MMD Chief Boot Licker is this useless Ben Kangwa!!! Atase ka Ben. Shame on u busy supporting marabishi all the time coz of ka job there!! Atase. And now i agree fully with this fool RB. There is alot of development in Zambia in the area of corruption promotion as corruption has now been liberalised in Zed. Corruption has really grown under RB esp with closure of Task Force. That is devpt according 2 RB.
Banda try to travel by road betweeb Mindolo to Nkana West or from St Anthony to Kitwe Fire Station via Chibuluma Road and see if that is development. Banda the hand that you wipe your ass with is the same you put food with in your mouth.
Then it means majority of zambians are politically blind. we need political lenses, let govt buy lenses for us to see that ‘development’.
The President Banda said only the MMD Government and former ruling party UNIP had worked on most of the roads of the nation which had never been rehabilitated for over 20 years.
My question to Rupia is who does he expect to rehabilitate the roads? Who is incharge of the treasury?? Does he want Hichilema, Sata, or Kenny Ngondo to do the roads or he want opposition political parties to be funding road projects?? This man is really a failure!!!
Rupa is very mad ! pliz take him to chainama, hez a joke of a chap
Thank you Mr President, I can add;THE inflation rate for the month of June has drastically dropped from 9.1 percent recorded in May to 7.8 percent, the Central Statistical Office (CSO) announced yesterday.
And stakeholders have welcomed the reduction in the inflation rate which is the lowest achieved in over 20 years.
Thats Great!!!!!!
# 4 thanks for the clarification.
“The President Banda said only the MMD Government and former ruling party UNIP had worked on most of the roads of the nation which had never been rehabilitated for over 20 years.” This statement comes from a dull president. Which other party has been tested with power to see if they have never neglected roads? This president behaves like an ancient village headman. Is this guy normal or insane? Kamutu ukuvakacha adoda aba? Ichi nchindele nadi naumumu wakanenela Fr. Bwalya. This shows that RB is trying hard to fully bring back UNIP days. RB is suffering from UNIP hungover.
just see the state of ndola airstip to see the development rb’s development

He said he would campaign vigorously and reach every village in Zambia.
What time will he have to visit all these villages? He knows more foreign countrys vilages than Zambias. Does he even know what kafue and kabwe look like and he says he will visit all villages? I didnt know RB had such humor!
Life expectancy has dropped to 38 years during the 20 year MMD rule – lowest in the world. What development are you talking about, Mr President? Development should always be measured in real terms.
Has literacy improved?
Has the number of people living under the poverty line reduced?
Has unemployment reduced?
How many new hospitals and schools do we have now ?
Has the infections and effects of HIV/AIDS been reduced?
These are the facts that need to be checked to determine whether there has been development or not. The rest are just stories and numbers that Stumbeko throws around that mean nothing for the ordinary Zambians whose lives are not improving.
Do not think we are fools, Mr President.
# 23 Ken, thanx for your contribution! Just to add on, Ba R.B have a look @ the global competitive index report produced by the world economic forum which ranks countries overall performance, If I am not mistaken Zambia is ranked 116 out of 137 countries.Zambia is termed as a one of the least developed countries, meaning poverty is extreme. Statistics estimate that about 70% of the population is under the poverty line.
De Ja Vu, the Zambian economy at least twice has suffered a crash and the Copperbelt is most visible because that is what you and other vocal urban see. But you must know that Zambia is all of 750,000sq. km+, has at least 72 districts. All these districts have to be developed within the meagre resources available to us as a country. We talk about Mongu – Kalabo road, Mutanda – Chavuma road, building schools and hospitals which were non-existent in some districts, etc. Farmers input support programme lifts the livelihood of rural dwellers; this helps reduce dependency on demeaning food relief, and reduces the urban – rural migration which would make your situation on the Copperbelt worse than it is. Let’s look at development in a wholesome manner rather what we see from our bedroom…
Politically Blind, I agree with you.
I can’t quite understand the gripe coming from contributors here; when the world financial system cratered, the country emerged with barely a ripple, at least recovering the jobs lost by the mines, inflation is now down to a 20-year low and maize output is up 43% year-on-year. You’ve got to start from somewhere. In the meantime here VAT is going up to 20%, drastic cuts in public spending and we pay over over 55p/litre in tax – and people just get on with the job (no winging).
Problem is, Zambians are generally lazy and particularly crooked. They will stitch you up all the way; from the conniving cop to the crooked corporate cons to your own bonkers bululus. But those that are focused and put in an honest days work have made real progress…
#25,26, can’t agree with you more. The problem is most of these bloggers are children of Bashi Mine on the copperbelt who used to get free Kapompo, bulbs, toilet tissue, meat, free mealie and as long as they don’t see these things back to them Zambia is not developing. They are forgetting that it was such lazy attitude that got us here in the first place. I hate RB, but truth be told Zambia is doing much better now and on a path to recovery and let us not confuse RB and Zambia. There is progress in Zambia and the whole world knows that and as #26 said you got to start from somewhere. KK started the destruction and Chiluba took it to even a higher Level. LPM and RB have at least made the nation turn the corner and face in the right direction. You got to be blind not to see this
# 25Politically blind
#26 The Unsung Sentinel Gentle men first let me remind you that I am not vocal but I am a very disappointed Zambian. I don’t how old you chaps are, but let tell that there is nothing, but just an excuse by you that it is not easy to work on all the 72 districts. In colonial days all roads had camp sites for road maintenance crews, this kept our roads tarred or ballast in tip top conditions. Your MMD destroyed this arrangement and instead increase political positions including the cadres called district commissioners. Unlike you I am right here in Zambia, and I have just come back from the area between Solwezi and Chingola. You should see the state of roads there, You are referring to the 72 districts, but is there any sense in developing Chifubu for the sake of…
27 Freedom – Mind your language. Just because MMD is pampering is no reason for to belittle others. People are puting up points. Read them and try to understand where they talking from.
Iwe #25 Politically Blind .. Don’t annoy us.. which who the hell told you Mutandanda Chavuma & Mongu Kalabo Roads have been constructed??? you & your friends 26, 26 & 27 need to trour Zambia and not comment on places you’ve never been, seen, know, or understand.. Have you been to Chavuma before??.. do you know how far it is? just commenting out of IGNORANCE is bad. and u wnat to talk like you know.. DE JA VU is completely right.. roads ar edamaged and gone through out the copperbelt.. starting from kitwe at the Traffic lights pa CEC road all the way to Chingola .. the road has craters/potholes. Chingola- Solwezi DISASTER (takes almost 3hrs instead of 1.5hrs). ZAMBEZI is 445 KM from Solwezi(no road) & CHAVUMA 200KM from ZAMBEZI( NO TARMAC)
#28 De Javu Vu.. Ignore these peopel who want to debate from an igrant stand point over things the have never seen. Like you I drove from Lusaka to Slowezi when I was in Zambia in May 2010. And believe me am very very annoyed.. not least that I damaged my RIMS & had to replace the tyres and twio shocks because of the kapiri Luanshya “new”road in tatters, but that Solswezi Chingola stretch.. where at the worst point there’s not road for a 200m stretch but drive throught a river bed basically.. Are these chaps (freedom & Sentinel) even Zambians.. You should know your country beetr than any of us. that Mazabuka- Kafue road in a hazard.. there’s no road for a 5km stretch , but gravel !!. All the main roads to notrthern & eastern province was done by SUPER KEN. 20 yrs of MMD a complete…
the 20years of MMD have been completely wasted years thats completely derailed us from achieving our development, black empowerment, wealth and social, health and educational emancipational goals. Levy is the only one that tried to bring us back to the road, at least in his last term despite corruption, theft, political greed, and looting of publich finances becomeing so entrenched under this MMD govt. Don’t dare draw comparisons with KK. never. Don’t know how old some kids on this blog are but go read you grade 9 civics again. KK did not tolerate financial mismgt, corruption, nepotism and blatant outright theft. If you were caught even a rumour in KKs days you were finished! resultantly he was able to build all the mammoth infrastructure we have because money was correctly used.
where did RB come from? UNIP of course! What does he know about government responsibilities? Has he stopped to be UNIP? I do not think so. Is he knowledgeable? I leave it to your judgement. These politically blind Zambian have had their eyes opened by RB’s desire to spend state money on unnecessary trips when roads descend into disused pits. Development indeed.
#27 You are sickening.
Number 28-30,
That’s exactly the point mates; we have to find money to sort out the infrastructure. It’s therefore imperative that the economy grows so as to expand the government tax base to finance this. Otherwise we’ll keep going to the donors with a begging bowl. That’s why it’s so annoying to see so much money being mismanaged and blatantly stolen by both government and private individuals.
We should take a hard and honest look at ourselves and not only point the finger at government; Zambians have condoned and/or participated in stealing and corrupt practices from private enterprise to government to non profits (NGOs). What is being unearthed at ministry of health, colleges and RDA is replicated everywhere up and down the country, and involves private citizens. There…
There are two sides to a transaction.
I’ve incorporated a firm here and set up a branch in Zambia, so I know (they were saying to each other: ”mudala uyu musungu so kumulyamo fye)!
I just shipped a 4X4, is the duty-free tariff already applicable?
We just saw photos of the major developments at UTH where wards have no beds, no linen, and where the BIG FISH can not be admitted, yet the MOH can afford to repay the donors misapplied and stolen funds. Job well done. Keep it up.
# 4 and U R A BIG ASSHOLE WAUMFWA
I once knew a woman named Ruble Bandit, she had a daughter named Zambezi. Ruble was well known in her town for excessive shopping, travelling while neglecting her daughter. Her daughter was clearly malnourished and poorly groomed. When a concerned majority in her town complained of her neglect calling it abuse of the worst form she replied; ” do you not see that my daughter is growing taller, and that her tummy bigger, her hair gold colored? Yes she says sheis weak but she does not appreciate that she is growing taller.” While most of her town-mates continued to express disgust at her selfish ways, she did ensure that she showered with gifts a few friends who all agreed with her that the swelling of her childs belly that we all recognize as a manifestation of malnutrition was an…
#32 Digga- MMD is no longer a political party. It a financial insititution where those who support evil will draw unlimited wealth. Even the so called consitution is based on support for corruption.
# 39Abena CB- Jesus spoke in Parables and only those with ears understood what he said. I only hope these MMD can get the message you are passing.
a manifestation of malnutrition was an indication she was a great parent. Ruble Bandit maintained that as a parent she was incapable of making mistakes and had the freedom to spend her ‘salary’ and the money that the child’s father was sending from abroad on a monthly basis in anyway she pleased. THE END
Moral of the story: Not all parents are fit to be good parents. As neigbors we have the moral obligation to ensure that neglected children are protected from neglect, for often they are too young and weak to see that they deserve better. ;-)
Ba Banda is that how far you can go, all we have seen in you is bring in your corrupt friends; VJ ,Mabenga ,Dora, Chiluba no case to answer, the sell of Zamtel and your trekking throughout the world

Only Africans are capable of voting for 73 year old dementia sufferer.
I hear zambian opposition kaponyas in south africa have been instructed to beat up MMD Chief Bootlicker upon his arrival and stay there. Why? What has the guy done to deserve this kind of harassment? They guys and everybody else are just expressing their political views. When I land in Zambia and a kaponya touches me, Im going Dr. Musonda way for sure. I have warned yall in advance!
… the sad thing is even the leader of the opposition is a potential dementia sufferer but with a nasty Mugabe-like streak.
ba Mwata ba Mwata… ninshi mulimpeta sana ka ? amaka nga naya fulisha ukaye pa KMB or Masala or pa Kulima Tower.. uka sanga mpeta shinobe abena Ramos na Galagata Zulu. ba kakupompolola..
#50 DIGGA you have made me laugh =))=))=))=))=))
Mwata acting all paranoid running from his own shadow! If you get sorted out mwana you brought it upon yourself. All the rot going on in Zambia and you coupled with boot licker come on here to taunt bloggers just because MMD butters your bread, you think you are making people happy and love you or fear and respect you? If you could slap people through the pc some of you would be dead now!
PS Mwata- a Dr Musonda move is not exclusively for MMD cadres only ka, we all know where to buy guns elo there are NO dogs ku shop door! If you want to go there, then we shall indeed go there!
I am not a violent person nor belong to any party but I rub my hands with glee for the fourth coming beating of cheif licker!
What happened to chief licker anyway? Wasn’t licking the boots good enough? He must have a mighty bump on his head…shame \:d/\:d/\:d/\:d/\:d/

Its embarrassing to disclose that you just emailed me not too long ago to be involved in my workshops. You was pissed off of those two white guys coming to Zambia with peanut butter. The girls name sare Natasha and Natasha! Now you wanna come out squeek clean? What a jerk. You are an opportunist. I would readily share my bed with MMD that share the same compound with you. You are sick and your boobs hang!
Mwata is untouchable! Im the first and the Omeca….I can sort you out without delay. If you want a battle im=am ready for you. Just like the MMD have failed to break me down you will not succeed either! Im a strong man and experienced politician! ask your dad RB!
Seior Citizen is the very top of today’s Zambian politics! Without me yall nothing! Im the finisher of this race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a miracle! How can the chief butt licker, Mwata and Senior Citizen blog within one minute? This confirms that MMD chief bootlicker, Mwata and Senior Citizen are none but one person!!!!!!! This is the regular failed Ben Kangwa with 1st grade tactics!!! No wonder you been recalled and we will meet you in South Africa upon your landing! We will teach you ABCD of life….Bloggers if you in SA please respond and confirm
what has HH got to do with your failures iwe ala bee..george kunda is ur bootlicker…you have failed to tell us n show us who you are n what u are capable of doing ..stop braging about Levy’s porgresses..what are ur projects u initiated..u are a time waster..we need a president…
MMD CHIEF BOOT LICKER- you are very childish indeed. The way I look at it we have different views on politics as Zambians and we have the right to express that. However if an outsider who is not Zambian starts degrading the image of our country it is up to us to unite and stand up against that. I am not RB’s biggest fan, we all say things about him on this blog but I would never encourage a conversation where some Englishman etc who starts to insult him cus essentially he is not only insulting RB but Zambia and Zambians. That is what those girls where doing-insulting us Zambians,we are all Zambians.
I have never made it a secret I do not agree with your views you spill here with various IDs(Senior Citizen,Mwata to name a few). I butter my own bread darling and I am far from an…
from being an opportunist. Attending the workshop was an opportunity for what? To join the MMD wagon and be a senior boot licker? No thanks. I only speak out for what is not right, I do not belong to any political affiliation and have no desire to.
My boobs hang? Honestly who says that? Sounds like an insult coming from a 4 year old. Although my boobs do not hang at all sweet heart-far too young for that mess!
Your Excellency, what development are you talking about? Working on a roads which take 9 months to have pot holes? Learn to keep quiet if you dont have anything to say boss
Keeρ on working, great job!
