Mufumbwe petition hearing set for Monday

Share

The Lusaka High Court will next Monday hear a case in which the MMD has petitioned the Mufumbwe by-election won by the United Party for National Development (UPND).

The matter came up yesterday before Judge Philip Musonda but it could not proceed because lawyers raised preliminary issues in chambers.

The court heard that the lawyers in the case had not adequately exchanged documents for the case to go ahead.

The court set July 12, 2010 as the date for hearing of the petition.

The MMD, through its losing candidate, Mulondwe Muzungu wants the court to nullify the poll results and declare that UPND’s candidate Elliot Kamondo was not duly elected.

  1. MMD & Election Violence!
While RB goes around the country calling our fellow Indian citizens and investors as ‘Mwenyes’ he forgets how this translates into to a regular MMD poor cadre on the ground! Why do you think a cadre would refrain from stone age methods of settling political issues when they here their ‘president’ insulting others? I personally believe RB would punch you in the face if there was no media in sight!

  2. @ # 1, are you the real MMD chief boot licker we have always known or this is the new version?why change of stance on MMD and RB?

  3. When will the son of the MMD Mufumbwe candidate be arrested for “culpable driving causing death”?

Three Zambians die and the driver runs away from the scene of the accident.(Crime of failing to render assistance).

Yet because he is the son of a MMD candidate the story has gone dead just like the innocent victims of a revengeful cadre.
