United Party for National Development (UPND) President, Hakainde Hichilema, has accused President Rupiah Banda of finding solace in the air.
Reacting to President Banda`s trip to Turkey through South Africa, Mr. Hichilema said the President is at it again to go and dine with foreign dignitories when he has no regard for those in the country when they ask how their money is being used.
He said the President`s trip to Turkey is not necessary, adding that he must know that domestic issues take precedence to any other issues.
He accused the President of taking initiative to clean other people`s governments when his own government is filthy with all sorts of dirty.
Mr Hakainde said President Banda was supposed to stay at home and ensure that the civil servants` delayed salaries are resolved.
He added that the country expects the President to spend time supervising his subordinates to ensure that pending issues such as the underpaying of teachers and police officers are worked on as opposed to spending his time in the air.
He advised the President to reduce his trips abroad so that he could have enough time to address issues affecting the people domestically.
President Rupiah Banda is scheduled to leave for Turkey on Sunday on a trade and investment promotion visit.
President Banda, who has been invited by Turkey leader Abdullah Gul, is expected to sign a number of agreements, address the business community and tour one of the largest car manufacturing plants.
President Banda, who will be accompanied by first lady Thandiwe, energy minister Kenneth Konga, finance minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane, foreign affairs minister Kabinga Pande and deputy minister in the Vice-President’s office Gaston Sichilima, returns to Zambia on Thursday.

while measles is busy killing us, our president is busy in the air with 25% of his cabinet ministers eating and drinking, meanwhile the opposition that we thought could do something are busy making their nonsense. who will help this sinking titanic called zambia, may be we should just try the military. it may help us to send a signal to the civilian leaders no to play with national resources. i stand to be collected on this.
looking forward to the day when the presidential jet will develop a fault while in the air so that Banda can start fearing the plans. please God help us.
He’s gone to look for more foreigners to to hand over the country’s resources to. Its the only thing the MMD government knows since their management competence is near laughable.

MILITARY RULE
While military rule seem to be the only untried option in Zambia, i agree with #1 concerns tho I dont know how Zambia will be under such leadership. It has worked in other countries. This time if the military are to do it, let the generals themselves do the job instead of sending half drunk sergents to do it! We need God’s help this time!
RB has has no shame, just three days ago The Finance minister said… the government has to cut down on its overseas trips. So what does this mean? It seems RB has a lot of donors money to spend and he can not even account for it. There is alot of problems in the country like not paying civil servants on time and hospitals needs medicines. what type of a president is he?
PF-UPND pact where are you? why are you failing to capitalise on this man’s mistakes? If Pres. RB flies a lot and has no time to supervise things here at home then take advantage and outdo him. My view is that instead of complaining without action, the the PACT leaders should just keep quiet. We all know when our RB is coming back from abroad, so what HH & Big MC should do is mobilise your supporters and go to the airport and let the president see the number of people who do not like him travelling. May be this way he will cut his trips. Let him find a line of anti foreign trips supporters lined up on the airport road. Like i have said we all know when he is gonna come back. Mere talking will not do
#5 well said! we need that
Nyamasoya, nyamasoya! Sure kuli kuchita abuse taxpayers’ money like that? Does this man ever feel shame with his extravagant life? We shall see…..
#5 You make good sense. This man needs to meet anti-foreign travel protesters waving red cards. This baff.oon needs to be shamed.
#3 Your level of unmitigated ignorance is appalling.
#1 and 3, be careful what you wish for. this is no laughing matter okay? try to come up with constructive, practical and workable suggestions like #5. sorry # 5, one would expect these opposition to be laughing all the way to the polls for all these bumbling b.uffoons in the ruling party but no; why?? simply because they are are equally bumbling b.uffoons with no credible altertatives to offer
in all fairness i think we are better off sticking with the mmd
MILITARY RULE Vs. PACT
Zambia can not go down the poverty and bad governance drain while we stand and pretend our bloggs will change the nation! MMD has infested, manipulated and enriched a few while our hard working, tax paying people suffer beyond imagination! If the PACT cant help, there is a military wing that can do the job immediately and its coming! We need someone to instill fear in these bu.stards that are always selling our country for no profit! We need the military to teach these a.ss stinking MMD a big lesson! Zambia will be lucky to hold the 2011 elections coz the military will take over way before the elections. If you are lazy and always talking of this democracy and that democracy shame on you and you will soon be shocked! Prepare for the ushering in of the junta!
Ala thats what happens when u vote for a farm…let him make use of my money since at the farm he had no chance to touch my tax……frog nose…..
# 5 ,,,,,,,Well said!
#5 thats a great idea! PACT over to you! oh, wait a minute, the PACT is just a bubble according to the Post.
WHAT KIND OF A MAN IS THIS SURE HE HAS NO HEART FOR THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE,LORD HEAR OUR CRIES TWALEMA NABAMUKUKULU ABA,
Zambians need to take action on their own. We cant rely only on the opposition leaders to put pressure on govt. Lets mobilize our selves . Theres great strength in numbers. # 5 i agree with you. The more vocal our population is, the more accountable all our leaders will be forced to be.
It will also show our aspiring candidates that if they play the same foolery when they get into power, they will suffer the same consequences.
OUR NATION IS BEING SOLD TO FOREIGNERS WHILE WE SIT BY AND WATCH!!!
He’s only taking his Misses shopping for leather bags & shoes, carpets, gold, in Istanbul at the Bazaar near Taksim! Or maybe gone to Mamaris to eat fresh fish as i dont tink TB can shake it at the hottest Club Halikanis,,,hehehe…………. Should tag me along next tym as a tour guide.
Oh, tell those two not to forget to take of their shoes when visiting the Red Sofi and Sultanhamet.:)>-
#1,5&11, Are you sure military rule is the best option for us? Is it not the former military top brass that have been arrested for corruption? Zambia is too poor to be subjected to sanctions. Let us all stand up and say NO TO MISS USE OF THE LITTLE NATIONAL RESOURCES. Yes we can.
# 1,3 and 11-Guys do you know what you are wishing for ? As tempting as a military solution may sound it should be the last thing you should wish for.Am sure you have met many pipo whose lives have been messed up because of your so called military take over.who will wish for Zambians to be refugees.Better we continue suffering naba Rb “the man of the air” than to have a military rule.Shorcuts in life are costly.:-?
Pact kaponyas read today’s post,,,tonga chicken HH:o..iwe tonga chicken.yaba no plan!:o
RB was at the world cup final match yesterday. I saw him. Somebody tell me how that is going to bring investment into Zambia?
Whoever thinks Our great president H.E Rupiah Banda was elected to baby sit state house is totally misguided. It is the job of the current CEO to continue unlocking value for the country and its citizen by going out to look for and create opportunities for the citizen in this globally competitive world for investment. The President has put a cabinet in place that is working 24/7 and why should he micro manage everything. The problem is people don’t understand the basics of delegation and they thing just because PF=SATA and HH=UPND, the think MMD is the same and things only work when RB is around. Wrong. God forbid if SATA is to do today , he will die with PF, Same with HH. MMD is the only party with a system that delivers regardless of individuals. So move on please.
I am a travelling light
Can’t stay in one place
Cause I will feel up tight
And I wanna change my old face
I am the lord of space
Any one trying to down me
Will not know what he will be
All you being critical should as the birds
How beautiful it is to fly
How wonderful to be in the sky
I got only one year
So let me have my cheer
While you shed your tear.
Yes I am a travelling light
No body will halt my speed. cause I am the lord
Does one really need to accept all invitations? Just last week RB had signed several agreements with the Brazillian president, barely a week he wants to sign more agreements with Turkey, all the supposed agreements will just remain on paper with no action, but the man will continue flying. I do not understand the president anymore.
may the challenger jet just crash !
lol. you bloggers crack me up!!!! you need your own TV series. Zambians, we need to be serious
last kicks of a dying horse..ala bee is gone..never to rule zambia again..!!
Leave RB alone, he is an elected president and he has all the right to enjoy himself. Some of you if given a chance, would be far worse than RB!
I WISH THAT I WAS THE ONE IN STATE HOUSE. THEN I WOULD BE DINING AND WINING WITH FOREIGN LEADERS AND CUTTING DEALS AND GROWING MY BUSINESS EMPIRE. BUT THIS SATA OLD MAN IS STANDING IN MY WAY, EISHHH.
The Polish President should not have died like that,God made a mistake,it should have been RB and his Corrupt Government Officials.
# 5 well said, but why do you have to leave everything to the opposition? What about concerned citizens without any political affiliation?
Alaa-Bee is not concerned with our welfare. How many agreements can a poor country like ours sign? We basically have nothing to offer except being a dumping ground
Concentrate on your cracks HH!!
Well doe UPND 2011 presidential candidate. On “President Banda, who has been invited by Turkey leader Abdullah Gul, is expected to sign a number of agreements, address the business community and tour one of the largest car manufacturing plants” it is interesting that Mr President RB Banda is even putting it clearly that he will TOUR which means he is a tourist.
Anyway, let Mr President RB Banda make as much money as possible in terms of allowances before the mighty UPND Team gives him a run for State House in the 2011 tripartite elections.
Have a blessed day and read Matt 24 of the Holy Bible if you can.

Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
