United Party for National Development (UPND) president, Hakainde Hichilema, has refuted the assertions that the UPND in the Patriotic Front (PF) pact is a junior party.
Mr. Hichilema said there is no junior party in the PF/UPND pact.
He said both parties have nothing to do with either senior or junior, but that they are meant to work together to unite the country.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hichilema has said the statement by former PF Secretary General, Edward Mumbi, that he has been reduced to the level of PF Secretary General, Winter Kabimba, is non issue.
He noted that in a group of individuals, there would always be different views, adding that no one can change that fact.

which part is popular between PF and UPND? in my view UPND has grabbed more seats following the by elections held recently this has made the PF unhappy. they even wanted to field a candidate in luena coz they are afraid that UPND may get it as well.the idea behind was that they wanted to portray UPND as junior party so that MC could automatically be adopted as pact presidential candidate.it is good they both fielded candidate in chadza and kaoma pipo will decide which one is popular
Against Sata, Afraid Membe and surrogates’s scheme to of turning poor Ichilema into their Horse they can ride on, i have no doubt that the selfless UPND base willl take nothing less than a pact of equals. Otherwise, Ichilema will be impeached. I shudder to think intellectuals in UPND of the likes of Hachipuka, Mwiimbu, Matongo, Muntanga subscribing to a legion of illiterates PF surrogates starting from Sata, Kambwili, GBM, Nsanda, Mukuka, Fructured Bwalya, Mumbi Phiri, Jean Kapata. You don’t enter a pact with a certified tyranny as his horse and expect your vision to be respected. There is no framework to regulate a dictator allergic to democracy and ethos. This ichilema guy will suffer severe political bruises after PACT failure and i dont know what answers he has for UPND supproters.Am not surprised because he is an opportunist Sakwiba Skota would have done a good job and believe me UPND would have grown more than PF by now.

#7 – where do you get the evidence to support that assertion that UPND would have grown under Sakwiba. Do you not see that Sakwiba lacks leadership qualities? Sata who is a leader has built PF from scratch – where is the evidence that Sakwiba is a good leader? He should have stayed in UPND and established a proper base. How do you hope to rule when you have NO BASE? where is the base for ULP – the only base he appears to have is his constinuency – even that is a struggle – how can you be a national leader like that?

If Saki was a man of political success, why is he failling to run his own Kantemba party called ULP and what made the Litunga not to indorse him to be vise-president of the country when RB consulted him in 2008. Saki’s ULP party has gone down, most of it’s members have left to join progressive parties e.g his secretary general Sikwindi Sikwila who left a year ago. Sata left MMD and he managed to win one seat in 2001 but the following election he managed to gain more support and won many seats, thats what we call progress. As for saki he is just tribalist dream like Milupi they always want to work only on their own and not with others.
The pact issue is becoming a nuisance to the listeners. In my humble opinion this pact can only work at Councillor & Parliamentary levels only. As for presidential level let each party filed a candidate. Who ever wins should form a unit government like in Kenya and Zimbabwe. This time around the battle will be between MMD and UPND candidates.The writing is on the wall only time will tell. The early the better for each party to start campaigning for its candidate.

13 If great means 90 days theory, telling lots of lies, and all the unthinkables then Sata is a great leader. But Sata’s character and behaviour are known by all and sundry and can only be admired by kaponyas. Unfortunately or fortunately (depending on your camp) kaponyas don’t make up the numbers required to win a presidential election. This time round all people with brains know Sata for what he really is. You can’t cheat people all the time.
As for HH, I am surprised that to this date he still thinks that he is a politician to reckon with in Zambia!

#18 PF, I did not mean to go in detail on each but just picked their ‘battle cry lines’ Am not a cadre of any of the parties but from reading the MMD and UPND manifestos, I found that the MMD stance is that govt has no bussiness in bussiness meaning let bussiness run itself while govt only collects taxes. On the other had, UPND seems to believe that govt should have a hand in iniating bussiness for the people thats why they talk of giving seed capital to farmers and small scale enterpreneurs. So I think there is a difference btn MMD and UPND. UPND thinks education and heath shud be free but MMD thinks it should be paid for.

The truth of the matter is Western, North-Western, Central, Southern vote on merit and not personality and that merit is in HH and not old man Sata.
