  1. Sorry sir… thats what our government can do. Its a friday and they want you to stay till monday. Its backwardness for anyone to do this….. Anyways you will be out on monday…. Guys we need to stand up and stop this nonsense ion our country..

  2. #1 stand up for what?? some of you charps just support anything that comes your way. One day you will know the true reasons Mpombo resigned from Government then u will never respect this Man.
#2 Mandela suffered inorder to liberate SA and its people but Mpombo quit his Job in protest of the Luxuries he enjoyed under the family Tree set up. Your example falls off

  3. #5 Boma ni Boma Mpombo has been very evil, this is whats suits him, when he was a minister of Defence he did whatever was expected of a govt minister including Trips abroad. Today he wants to speak the loudest even on things he should not. Thats it You are loosing the sit. Your hatred for other tribes has fixed you.

  4. This is a very sad development for our country and it is setting a frightening precedent. Jailing of perceived enemies is now the main activity and it seems clear that it will intensify up to polling day in 2011.

  5. Only an i.d.i.o.t can convict Mpombo. What about GRZ not paying employees on time even after having released payslips to employees but without remitting monies to banks and departments on time?? Is a payslip different from a cheque??

  6. The first pic reminds me of the “MONKEY BUISNESS” programme on the animal planet channel. Not forgettin the adventerous time we had @ Chimfushi Ophanage where we taking pics of chimpanzees. Its like he is asking for a banana….I hope we will have tourists vising his jail cell for a glimpse.Anyway thats sad development & hope it will one day backfire..

  7. i’ve no respect for mpombo and nawakwi these guys were in government and they failed us. as for mpombo he deserves it.

  8. I’ve always wondered why people in Zambia wear those leather coats given the almost all year round higher temps in the country. Are snow boots next?

  9. Why didnt they jail the minister who bounced the chegue in June? This is total fallacy. Shame on Zambian judiciary, next year you will be answering questions. Tu ma Judges, even the police they are just dogs following their master’s orders.

  10. Yaba! Ba Goat, you played in their hands. You have been taunting them, even in the big democracies you only do what you have been doing if you have full support of other colleagues. I hope Fred Mmembe will save you, he was also caged on Friday, by the time you are released (say Monday or Tuesday) if you are going to have alcohol withdrawal symptoms, there will be a lot of stories about your sanity. Yangu mayo, just be strong because you knew that Findlay was former President Chiluba’s friend and yet you went to him for help. Fred and Post help your friend.

  11. Larry @ 14, It appears you don’t know what you are talking about or are you just pretending to be ignorant. It’s very cold in Zambia this time of the year. Just because it is summer here in USA does not mean summer in all parts of the world.

  12. Fact he bounced a cheque, which is a criminal offence.so i wonder what the problem is. he is now a convicted criminal why are people supporting this convict?

  13. Humans go the zoo. I guess it would be good to bring animals to watch people in jail. They will a kick out Mpombo holding on the bars

  14. Thats were George mpmbo belongs. He was a star in mwanawasa regime and sturbon, who has forgoten his blues and insults to citizens when he was ernegy minister?get lost mpombo and infact PF should never entertain you cause you have been their vilain through and through.

  15. THIS IS PURE DESPERATION AND TYRANNY AND UNIP MENTALITY RB WANTS TO BRING. THIS IS PURE S-T-U-PID-I-TY AND I-DIO-CY BY THE MMD, HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE BOUNCED CHEQUES, I GUESS THE KAMWALA REMAND PRISON WOULD HAVE BEEN FULL. I WISH MMD CAN GO LIKE TOMORROW THIS BAD FOR OUR DEMOCRACY AND JUDICIALLY .

  16. It is common knowledge that ,when a minority party like mmd is to exit the corridors of power they tend to intimidate inosent citizens. Fear not Mr..Mpombo they are trying to silence the mighty voice for the voiceless.RB and his minionsknow very well that theire days are numbered. They will spend most of their lives in prison.Jesus Christ the son of God went through persecution of all kinds under the different types of kings that held power at that time.Don’t worry, Hospitals, Clinics, police cell, mortuaries are meant for us and no one makes an application to spend time in these places.Mmd knows very well that theier time is up, so they will do everything to silence interlectuals like you. If Dr Musonda, Chiluba the thief and Changwe are walking the streets of Zambia freely.

  17. Mmd is very scared of its own shadow.Just wait and see. Some people in prison for doin wrong, others are their for speaking out the truth against injustice. Bakalamba don’t even worry sleep nicely in that prison the whole is world is watching rb’s admin.

  18. Judicial engineering from the top at play. I wonder what the police and judges spent time in school for? They can’t distinguish between genuine and politically motivated legal suits. Let’s wait and see what will happen to Lady Changwe.

  19. The lest time i visited a zoo, impombo and impals were freely roaming the grounds but hyenas were caged. Now, what happened to George, suppose he is not a chimbwi.
Changwe you are next, chimbokaila taisula.

  20. You see ba MPOMBO the Mwanawasa legacy you were agitating for iya kwikata ikata abantu nomba yamikonka.Dont complain because you asked for it.. Bushe ama tractor yabili nga yafwa, teti ulungishe fye imo and negotiate with the mechanic that you will pay after you sell the cows or give the guy cows. Ba Mpombo wesu, pantu filungula namenshimo.

  21. MMD is making this dude an unnecessary martyr. Yes there are laws against bouncing checks, insulting the president, etc. but for goodness sake pick your battles, RB. You do want to rule beyond 2011 don’t you?

  22. What has this got to do with MMD or RB ? Is it MMD that asked Mpombo to draw a cheque knowing for sure there was no money in his account? Why can’t we grow up. The man is an MP and last time I checked these are the guys who make laws in zambia. I always emphasise on high calibre MPs but because of our pettiness we want to vote mediocrity into parliament. Zambians are supposed to be happy that even those that make laws if caught on the wrong side of the law will go to prison. What we need is to just ask for lenience as the man is a first offender.

  23. Zambia sucks!!!!! Mpompo kiss another kayili’s A.S.S.. The president lisaka, Sata lichilu, HH LIBOLO, and whoever criticizes my comment mwana wambwa.

  24. #14. I appreciate your observation. Note that people wear clothes for various reasons. Leather coats though primarily designed for cold weather, make some look smart. So it is an innovation which should be encouraged instead of copying all the timem

  25. Those whom the gods want to destroy they first make them mad. Mpombo is paying for his utter madness left, right and centre including in parliament. Like the Bembas would aptly say: “Mpombo wibilima, ababilima tabaya.” When he resigned from his ministerial position he gave the reason that he wanted to concentrate on the environment by planting trees in his Kafulafuta constituency! How many trees has he planted so far? Family trees? Total madness!

  26. Bwana Mpombo, shit happen, but that should be lesson to you. Am sure you will come out a stronger man, but please refrain from opening your mouth all the time to criticise, the government you once belonged to. make up your mind and decide what you want in life.

  27. Mr Mpombo was once an MMD insider who resigned on his own, why should he start criticising the system he saved so well.Let Mr Mpombo, while in jail, go through the Post headlines over the last six months and reflect what he has been saying about the President and other people. The Post should avoid taking stories from drunken people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. RB jailing Mpompo is not the answer to your internal problems in MMD. RB you have reached your sale by date so prepare for your exit or let someone challenge you at the convention and you can step down in honour. RB you have a deputy minister who bounced a cheque so how is her story line going to be. By jailing mpompo your lady minister will be jailed too. So RB try and limit your involvement in matters that do not concern you as you are building a corrupt nation just like chiluba did. With two loses in by-election it shows people do not want MMD anymore so stop spending money on campaigns that you can not win. shame upon RB as Mpompo was speaking the truth in all matters. Investors be aware in Zambia as one day you will go behind bars like Mpompo.

  29. #1. YOU ARE RIGHT ZAMBIANS HAVE TO STAND UP AND STOP THIS ROT OF INJUSTICE, (AND SELECTIVE JUSTICE). OUR COUNTRY IS SLIDING DOWN-HILL AND FINISHING. TOMORROW THIS AXE OF INJUSTICE COULD FALL ON YOU. IF YOU THINK OF A Dr SHOOTING AN INNOCENT CITIZEN AND WALKING FREE, I THINK THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR HEAD IF THINK THERES JUSTICE WITH THIS MMD GOVERNMENT. What is on your friend today- tomorrow it may be on you.

  30. The question is has he a case to answer? If yes then he is fairly convicted. So if you have a case to answer you too can land there. But we don’t have to be vindictive.

  31. Gents, the law is very clear. It’s a criminal offence to issue a cheque on an insufficiently funded account. There’s no political meddling here, Mpombo is just a joker, how can a man of his stature bounce a ka meager K10 Mio cheque? This law is actually is actually very useful because it adds credibility to our financial markets and local business environment.

  32. Maybe I live on a different planet but…I find jailing a person who’s cheque bounced a joke.Unless this guy has other matters of interest to the police.
