The National Revolution Party (NRP) has observed that Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata has a personal vendetta against former second republican president Dr Frederick Chiluba.
NRP Secretary General Kelly Walubita Jr. said the continued attacks on the former Head of State were regrettable and unfortunate.
Mr Walubita Jr. said the attacks on Dr. Chiluba by Mr Sata were setting a bad precedent on the Zambian politics.
He was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today.
He described the attacks on Dr Chiluba as immature and without merit.
And Mr Walubita Jr. has advised both the opposition leader and civil society organisations to respect the verdict on Dr. Chiluba by the court of law.
Mr Walubita Jr. said it was uncalled for Mr Sata to maintain that Dr Chiluba is a thief and a non-repentant person when the courts of law have vindicated him.
He said that the judiciary is an autonomous body which operates independently.
Meanwhile, Mr Walubita Jr. has disclosed that his party is over-whelmed by the youths who have so far registered as voters in next year’s tripartite elections.
He disclosed that his party is working closely with the Electoral Commission f Zambia (ECZ) sensitizing the youths on the importance of voting.
Mr Walubita Jr. added that he toured Chawama and Kanyama where he was pleased to see many young people participating in the national programme.

On September 25, 2004 whilst addressing Patriotic Front members at Kasama’s Kapongolo Motel, Sata said Chiluba was dishonest and added: “God does not want dishonest people and he punishes them in different ways. Chiluba was dishonest and greedy for him to have picked someone who was just sleeping.”
And Mmembe writes, It will be surprising how Sata who on July 25, 2004 told the Kitwe Press Club at Edinburgh Hotel that once in State House, he would not be “president of pardons but president of action”, will now explain his promise to pardon all the plunderers, including Chiluba. So it is clear that Sata and Chiluba are together in deception, in their attempt to hoodwink the Zambian people. Surely, are these people to trust? Is this the type of behaviour that attracts or commands respect from one’s fellow citizens?
Mmembe writes, “And Sata’s promise to free Chiluba and all other plunderers from the corruption charges they are today facing, is a dishonest and corrupt approach to public affairs”.
“We have shown today that Sata has no commitment to any principles. His own mouth is his own worst enemy. He says one thing today and when it suits him tomorrow, he changes. What is insulting about his behaviour is that he expects people to accept this. If your allegations against Sata are valid, why then did Mwanawasa failto pin Sata for the all 8 years He(LP) was president of Zambia in the face of hot opposition from Sata? What Walubita Jnr is saying is wrong. He has been paid, most likely by MMD or FTJ, to say this. However, we shouldn’t forget that Sata was Chiluba’s right hand man for 10yrs and his PF was also funded by Chiluba at one time. How can a sane person claim that his(Sata) hands are clean? Was Sata soo blind in those 10yrs as no to realise that Chiluba was a stealing. The fact that he was not caught does not mean he wasn’t a thief or is clean. To just updated you on this, today schools are both vissible and invissible. There is distance learning through both hard copies of texbooks and the internet as well. People need not attend classes phyiscally but through tele-cofrencing they meet their lectures and professors. So who are you to question what mode of education Sata took?

I support what 23, 37, 38 are saying. This kamafellow is a thief no matter how many sheds you may wish to paint him. Kafupi was found guilty by the court in London and the Zambian government was happy with the outcome because they are the guys who produced all the evidence and whatever it took. What was just remaining was to register the case or the ruling in Zambian courts and put the f.ool behind steel bars. But for one reason or another the Zambian courts refused to do that. So this Kelly thing does not know what he is talking about because Kafupi has been tried and he is a real thief. It does not matter who calls this Kafupi a thief because the truth is that he is a thief and deep down his heart he knows that he is a real thief period!
