Former Football Association of Zambia FAZ Disciplinary Committee chairperson Sunday Nkonde says the Kalusha Bwalya led executive has dissolved itself.

Nkonde explains that resignations of the four committee members have rendered the remaining five not capable of forming a quorum of six.

He says this is according to article 27 sub section 3 of the FAZ Constitution which stipulates that six members of the executive committee are needed to form a quorum .

Nkonde said this in a statement released to ZNBC Sports in Lusaka Saturday evening.

The former FAZ Disciplinary Committee chairperson also stressed that the Executive committee can co-opt a person to fill a vacancy in comformity with article 26 sub section 7 for remaining period of office.

Nkonde noted that the constitution stipulates that the executive committee shall meet at least once every four months or any time at the request of the President or three committee members.

On Friday, FAZ Vice president Emmanuel Munaile resigned from his position to joine three others Pivot Simwanza, Violet Bwalya and Henschel Chitembeya stepped down citing administrative shortcomings.

On Thursday FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya accepted the resignations of the other three executive members. Below is the Audio of the Press briefing he held at Football House. Click on the Play Button Below to Listen

  1. Kalu, your contribution to zambian footbal is immense. The name you built fr yourself and the country should have been guarded jealously. But your direct involvement in player transfer deals and other issues is shocking. All you needed to do was clarify yourself other than trying to expel other committee members. Am getting disappointed with you and its sad for your CV.

  2. This footballer cum administrator should know that his skills on the pitch need refining if they are to be recognised and appreciated in the boardroom. Let him save face NOW.

  3. We have a republican president who lives abroad and comes to visit at intervals. As if this is not enough now we have a FAZ president also living abroad. Gentlemen, where has this culture come from? Very soon Hikaumba and all other presidents will be living abroad.

  4. The speech was prepared by George Kasengele. This speech was made before Emmanuel Munaile resigned, and now that he has resigned and therefore as Mr Nkonde says there are 9 committee members on the Executive Committee, how are the 4 vacancies going to be filled in the absence of a quorum???

  5. #6 , Did I hear Kalusha pronounce unanimous as ananymous on 0:52 seconds of the audio ? I agree with your ichisungu cha ku compound!

  6. Hahahah ANANYMOUSLY!!
    Spot on #7
Great Galu should have concetrated on one thing, either as a football administrator at faz, players’ agent or just a football pundit at supersport, you just cant have it all.It takes a lot to build a reputation, but only one simple mistake trash it all up

  7. Indeed, Article 27 sub section 3 of the FAZ Constitution stipulates that a quorum is formed by at lease 6 members of the executive committee. Now that Munaile has also quit, only five members remain and these are in terms of the said constitution not capable of forming a quorum of six. Effectively, the Great Galu administration is dead. You bet the kaponya did not even know the effect of the resignations, same like Chiluba dissolving parliament without realizing he had also dissolved himself leaving the Zambian constitution intact in terns of two terms only and barring him from re-contesting. Maybe its a Luapulan thing some of us will never understand.

  8. I’m pretty sure there is something wrong with Kalusha’s way of leadership. It could be that he’s clueless on how to run FAZ or he thinks he has too much power to operate and do things as and when he feels like doing it. I’m still skeptical with the transfers of some of the players. Is it part of his job to secure contracts for players? I’m might be wrong. Kalu we have respect for you, but you are messing now. Would you save your face by doing a honorable thing-resign!

  9. You will only appreciate him when his gone. His done so much nt just as a player bt also has a Faz president.Learn to appreciate pipo ts not like any of u?parents can do better!!!!

  10. No.16 Kalusha has a problem people can not complain for nothing sopmething is very wrong with his leadership, we will not miss him sorry what ever goes up comes down!

  11. No. 14 thats true – these oxymorons have no clue. Still enjoying my popcorn and beer and awaiting Kasolo’s interpretation of the constitution – this is fun!!

  12. What are Kalusha’s academic qualifications? He seems to have been running the FAZ unilaterally against the constitution. Football is now big business globally and you don’t for example pick a grade 7 for president.

  13. Anyway I am not surprised coz Zambians are like that wen u r doing well they praise u and show fake love but when u r out they talk ill abt u and call u names. If I was Great Kalu I will never involve myself in football again. I would just go home and enjoy my money. Zambians are not worthy helping.

  14. #21 Kalu has failed the football house period. He is pompus he think he is the president of this country. Kalu pack your bags and leave. SORRY NO ONE WILL MISS U APART FROM YOUR VUVUZELAS!!!

  15. I think Kalusha deserves respect..he has done a lot for zambia in terms of football.. the problem with us zambians we are good at criticizing.. is this how we treat our legends.. in other countries kalusha is a hero and he is well respected except here in zambia were he comes from.. i fail to understand we like the PHD syndrome(PULL HIM DOWN) in as much as Kalu is not an angel who cant make mistake.. all i can see people are talking what kalu did wrong.. what about the things he did right.. why dont you highlight them…we people only see bad things from people and ignore the good!!!!!

  16. What? You want him to have a white man’s pronunciation? Get over yourselves! The man is bemba, for crying out loud. You get what he is saying. That’s what is important. When has a white man acquired a bemba accent? Atase. Discuss the issue at hand, simple minds.

  17. IN SIMPLE TERMS WHAT IT MEANS WITH ONLY 5 EXCUTIVE MEMBERS GREAT KALU AND HIS TEAM CAN NOT PASS ANY DECISION WHICH CAN BE LEGAL. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY NEED A QUORUM OF 6 MEMBERS TO AGREE AS AN ELECTEDFAZ BOARD.

  18. Haters haters haters!!!
The executive have since co-opted three members and Eric Mwanza has described the claims by Nkonde as misleading cos he(Nkonde) is not privy to what is going on inside FAZ.And mind you, this means FIFA also sees no problem in the co-option and people like Simataa Simataa will be choked!!Viva Great Kalu.I like your style of mgt cos people like Nkonde wanted to be worshiped.Nix!!!

  19. Kalu has failed as an Administrator! Let him resign and save his face other than trying to act as if all is well.

  20. Funny Galu constituted an emergency executive committee 2 appoint 3 exec members however this emergency executive committee is 2 b appointed by an executive committee which wasnt in existant by thursday. Galu thinks the whole nation is foolish.

  21. #21 Lili, Great Galu is no longer wealthy, the divorce from his former dutch wife dusted him clean of all money he had. No wonder he is now trying to scrounge on all player transfers to replenish his depleted coffers but some FAZ executives will have none of it. I also hear his marriage to the the Italian Mafiozzo is on the rocks because the chap is running shot of grudas to quench her appetite for expensive holidays. Awe sure, it is agony for the Katangese.

  22. number 26,destroyer,well spoken.some people ar so stupid.how do you expect a zambian to speak english with a white mans accent.zambia is made up of 72 local languages.this automatically affects the way any normal zambian speaks english.fools think being educated is speaking english like a white man,ATASE,UKO,GET OUT.

  23. The FAZ is a let-down, man. Kalu needs to do soccer management course. This will help him to perform better. As a player somebody coached him. What about management of the sport? To have four guys resign from your elected team shows that there`s something erroneous about people skills. It also displays that they have lost confidence in their top leader. Therefore they don`t want to be part of a sinking ship. My advice to kalu is to come down from his castle and begin to operate as one serving the people of Zambia. Otherwise he will leave the office with no legacy and laughed at.

  24. #28 Sharp Shooter. Your contribution is so devoid of logic that one wonders whether you have a head at all. Just what the hell does Nkonde’s observation got to do with not being privy to what is going on inside FAZ? Do you even understand the meaning of the word “privy”? Whether you like it or not, Article 27 sub section 3 of the FAZ Constitution is very clear, once Munaile quit there were only 5 executive members. Since the same Article above requires 6 executives to form a quorum, Muna’s departure effectively doomed your Great Galu circus because there is no quorum to ratify any decisions Galu makes.

  25. I dont think any educated Zambian would laugh at someone else’s pronounciation of an English word. Only uneducated people indulge in such c rap. Educated people’s minds are enlightened to the fact that one’s education or smartness is not assessed by the use of a colonialist’s language. This just shows our inferiority complexes. The one who imitates the muzungu is said to be clever and the one who cant is said to be dumb. FAZ is not about English but football. If the speaker is a journalist using English as a medium you may have a point in criticising his pronounciation.

  26. Kalu, here is a short treatise to the word, “Unanimous”. Though the root : “uni”, rightly means “one”, the word bears the implication of a group coming to agree on one thing!! The catch, great Galu, is NOT ONE PERSON coming to a conclusion & doing so anonymously!! i.e. because we all know who made that decision!!!

  27. Kabazo, you are naught. Let me explain what kkkalu mearnt by “ananymous”, the committe that suspended Pivoty is unknown. That is Engilsh spoken in Bemba.
