The Football Association of Zambia found today themselves found dead in the middle of the cross-fire of the factional fighting in Kenyan football.
Faz sources have revealed that Football House found itself dealing with Kenya Football Limited which runs the league to seal next Wednesdays friendly against the Harambee Stars in Nairobi.
However, rival body the Kenya Football Federation which takes care of the national team swiftly moved in with a more lucrative offer from Bafana-Bafana whom the Harambee Stars will face away in Rustenburg on the same date.
Kenya depart for South Africa on Monday ahead of their friendly against Bafana-Bafana to be played at the 2010 World Cup venue Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
Kenya were Faz’s Plan B for the February 9 Fifa match date after plans to play Benin fell through.
Now that Plan B has crashed and burned, Faz is currently scampering to limit the damage by trying to secure a last minute friendly with another regional team.
However, it will not be that easy with all but two nations available for next week in the form of Swaziland and Lesotho the only teams with a free date for next Wednesday.
All the other teams in the Cosafa and Cecafa zone either have a friendly match or CHAN commitments like Zimbabwe, Angola, Rwanda, Uganda who will be stretched to raise formidable teams with a mix of foreign and based players.
so it was a case of real FAZ dealing with a fake Kenya FA. (more like bena simataa and company)
JOE KAPATA – where is Simataa here? What does he have to do with the FAZ deal. Abena nangu kupata umuntu tefyo – twilamupanga hero, tulemulekako. Anyway I just wanted to share with you that by the way the organisation that our FAZ has been dealing with is the legal one at the moment in Kenya. The only problem is that its days are coming to an end and it is the other Federation one that is gaining control. It is just unfair that our FAZ got caught in their nonsense
So, these chaps were dealing with an organisation which represents the kenyan premier league, and yet they refused to deal with our local organisation. The irony!
Babatambisha aka black ba FAZ
Ukushishita! And where are thwe connections Kalusha keeps boasting about if he can have the capert pulled from right under him
Can someone please explain to me what the first sentence in this article means. Me not getting it.
Ba LT, why so many grammatical errors – ever heard of proof reading. What a disgrace
Bafana Bafana have equally been ditched at last minute by Burkina Faso, they had to entice Kenya with a lucrative contract to Play them to save face after queries by RSA media and the public.
SAFA is under fire. Zambia is paying for not having enough money or not any at all.
Come on, get rich or ……..
Editor, too much in a hurry to beat other online medias and thus that error.Thought the FAZ was gunned down like the Angola/TOGO issue.LOL
# 5 limbi iwe ifilyako.I have read the sentence more than 5 times but I cant make any sense out of it
# 2 dont you know that abena simataa are also running a parrarel FAZ
This is always the case with Zambia and Africa, everything’s last minute, no organisation whatsoever; it’s no wonder we’re so behind in development. How can you arrange an international match 1 week before? The west arrange such fixtures at the beginning of a domestic football season so that you can plan ahead accordingly. This’s why our international players never bother turning up; shame on FAZ!
LT, you are at it again! please before you publish your articles try to proof read! The lead sounds terrible! I do not understand the “Fire” aspect! small errors like these cost!
Burkina Faso ditched SAFA at last minute & they had to entice kenya with cash. Indeed Zambia get rich too..
Its so bad that Kenya went for money. They should have tried real football by playing the copper bullets. So sad indeed. Kenyans think like Nyele something cause this is political prostitution
SAFA sent a contrat to Kenya which was irresistable. FIFA website stil shows Bafana vs Burkinabe.
Also check out supersport news on SAFA use of kenya as a cover up.
Can some one please put a stop to this FAZ nonsence? Zambia must a laughing stoke football wise now.
Africa is the same. Every where you go you find Rubbish!!
AKA RED NAKA BLACKI – SALAPO NIKESA? MMMMMMMM OK AKA RED – WALUSA! AWE YAMUNANI IYO INDALAMA BASHI CHANDA TABAYE BANDEKE LOL.
Zambia be smart play Bafana Bafana. Kalu’s standing against their man in CAF has made this a possible side show
The confusion started in Kenya. Its a war between Their FAZ and ZPL.AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED. SO THE CONFUSION STARTED IN KENYA FINISH AND KLAAR!

Nairobi — Confusion on Thursday surrounded Harambee Stars’ February 9 Fifa-permitted international friendly as two opponents were confirmed.
On Wednesday, Harambee Stars Management Board arranged for Kenya to play Zambia at Nyayo National National Stadium, only for Football Kenya Limited to confirm accepting an invite to play South Africa’s Bafana Bafana at Soccer City on the same day.
“Harambee Stars are going to South Africa. The South Africans are providing everything for a contingent of 30 players, including…
On Wednesday, Harambee Stars Management Board arranged for Kenya to play Zambia at Nyayo National National Stadium, only for Football Kenya Limited to confirm accepting an invite to play South Africa’s Bafana Bafana at Soccer City on the same day.
“Harambee Stars are going to South Africa. The South Africans are providing everything for a contingent of 30 players, including McDonald Mariga, Dennis Oliech and Robert Mugabe, whom they will fly from their respective bases direct to Johannesburg,” FKL technical committee chairman Hussein Swaleh said.
“I am the one in charge of Harambee Stars matters and I am not aware of the Zambia friendly. I got to learn about it from the press. Why should the board organise friendly matches without informing us?” Swaleh posed.
The board, chaired by Mumias Sugar chief executive officer Evans Kidero, was formed by the government in December to help in the preparation of the national team in forthcoming qualifiers.
Work closely with FKL
Swaleh said the board needed to work closely with FKL to achieve the desired results for Harambee Stars. Curiously, the seven-member board does not have a FKL official.
Local-based players are scheduled to fly out on Monday for Johannesburg where they will link up with their Europe-based colleagues.
The South African trip will give Stars an opportunity to play at Africa’s largest stadium, Soccer City, which hosted the 2010 World Cup opener between Bafana Bafana and Mexico as well as the final between champions Spain and the Netherlands.
There’z a whooping 48 dayz before that dreaded FAZ AGM!
Zambia get rich or die crying.
Kenya is a developing Country. What will stop them from getting part of the World Cup spoils. Poverty is Wicked. Lets all accept that and move on. They want money at the moment not connections.
yaya
Doesn’t LT have editors? What a disgrace to the journalism profession. Apart from the first sentance which does not make sense, there is also this one and I quote in “However, it will not be that easy with all but two nations available for next week in the form of Swaziland and Lesotho the only teams with a free date for next Wednesday.” All but two nations available means that all nations are vailable except two!
I hope no one will blame KALU for this. Its not his fort that zambia is poor.
Okay ba CHIMBA #29 Here is Greak Kalu’s reaction in Business Day today:
INCENSED Zambian Football Association president Kalusha Bwalya yesterday directed a scathing attack at the South African Football Association (Safa) after discovering that Kenya were influenced into pulling out of a planned friendly international against Zambia and opting to play against Bafana Bafana in SA at the 11th hour.
Zambia were supposed to play against the Kenyans next Wednesday and had booked flights for their local and foreign-based players to travel to Nairobi for the match.
Bwalya told Business Day he was shocked when he found out that Safa went behind his back and convinced the Kenyans to renege on the agreement with Zambia with the promise of a big fee.
“Safa went behind my back and negotiated with Kenya while knowing very well that we were scheduled to play against the very same team,” a livid Bwalya said.
“I really do not understand how Safa can do something like this. It is in bad taste. We prepared everything for this match and our overseas- based players are travelling directly to Nairobi,” he said.
“What are we going do when Safa behaves like this? It is really unethical of them to do this.”
Bwalya said he spoke to the Kenyan Football Association and they could not explain why they dumped the Zambians so unceremoniously at the last minute.
But Safa president Kirsten Nematandani insisted that they did not swoop in flashing banknotes to poach Kenya.
“We did not know that the Kenyans had a game against Zambia,” the increasingly pressured Safa president said.
“We asked them if they were playing anyone on February 9 and they said no. I understand that relationships are important in world football but we needed a game.”
It has been an embarrassing week for Safa after they were ditched by Burkina Faso at the 11th hour. Safa confirmed weeks ago Bafana would play Burkina Faso at Royal Bafokeng Stadium next Wednesday.
But the Burkinabe decided to pull out of the match and play against Cape Verde instead. Safa found themselves in an embarrassing situation and scrambled to find a last-minute replacement.
After initially struggling to find suitable opponents, they settled on the Kenyans, who were more than willing to pull out of their own deal with Zambia. Nematandani apologised for the debacle and said he understood why critics would view the whole fiasco as yet another example of poor administration.
ba LT are u in the same family as kachepa360 dot com? pantu u both seem to write rushed articles yaba Zambian websites awe sure kukosa!
SAFA is disgraced
I do agree with all of the ideas you’ve offered to your post. They are very convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are very quick for newbies. May you please prolong them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
