A 36 year old man of Maramba Compound in Livingstone is nursing serious injuries in the Livingstone General Hospital after his wife poured hot water on him.

Southern Province Commanding Officer Lemmy Kajoba confirmed the incident to ZNBC news in Livingstone .

Mr. Kajoba said the woman, identified as Beauty Nonde 31, also used a bottle to inflict injuries on her husband’s head and neck.

He said the incident happened earlier this week when the victim, George Wamulume allegedly went home late, a move that angered his wife.

Mr. Kajoba said Wamulume was rushed to the hospital where he is receiving treatment, while the wife who has been charged with unlawful wounding has been detained at Libuyu Police Station.

She is expected to appear in court soon.

Meanwhile, a man in Kalomo’s Zimba area in Southern province has drowned as he attempted to rescue his cow which had fallen in a dam at the Forest Estate.

The man has been identified as Goodson Zyambo.

He said Zyambo’s body was discovered by a forestry worker .

When a wife is annoyed she can do anything especially if she discovers you are having an affair. Well, maybe Wamulume had just gone out to have a few drinks! Soonest recovery my cousin. I hope she did not temper with the instrument that priests do not use or at least pretend they do not use.

No 8 forget love we know that nowdays most women dont marry for love they mostly do it out of insecurity especially with their biological clock ticking. Trouble is they carry this insecurity into the marriage turning their hubbies into virtual prisoners/ detainees. There is no reason why a happy man should try to find happiness outside of his own home. I know men lie but so do women but there is no Justification for what this woman did because that man is not only a husband but he is someone’s child. She does not own him.

The level of thinking on this blog is really worrying. Does it mean that everytime a man comes home late then he is promiscouos? Think about this woman getting a pot or kettle, heat the water and pouring it on this man! What kind of a creature is she? She could not control her temper? Assuming the deed was done, what does she gain by her action? The way forward is to deny the husband conjugal rights and sue for divorce! Dont treat husbands as though they were your property that you can do anything with. Even if you marry a husband who doesnt work, or is indeed adulterous, you have no moral right to burn them. Just leave if you cant stand him.

i propose that in the general scheme of things, men suffer as much, if not more abuse from their spouses as the other way around. only difference is that the abuse suffered by women is the visible part of the iceberg and that suffered by men is the submerged part of the iceberg. debate this!

I totally agree with you. These women nowadays are the worst men abusers, only that men do not go out complaining about it. The best men do is to relieve that pressure by having an affair with another woman. Most men are really suffering from verbal abuse and the sort, now this, others have even killed their husbands. Shame.
