Change Life board disowns Fr Bwalya

The board of directors, shareholders and guarantors of Change Life Zambia (CLZ) have dissociated themselves from disgraced Catholic Priest Father Frank Bwalya’s political activities and have since threatened to institute legal proceedings against the cleric for, among other things, impersonation and possible abuse of funds.

CLZ director for operations Chumbu Mbalazi said yesterday at a media briefing in Lusaka that Fr Bwalya had been impersonating as executive director of the organisation when no such position exists in the non – governmental organisation (NGO).

“It has been observed that some members of CLZ have been for a long time violating the Company Act. The following are some of the aspects; some members have been impersonating as executive directors of CLZ a position that doesn’t exist,

“Some members are associating with some political parties, contrary to the CLZ’s objectives of empowering the vulnerable in society. CLZ is non-partisan,” he said.

He said some of the members that had been co-opted had also changed the CLZ secretariat from Mufulira to an unknown place in Kitwe without consulting the board of directors.

“With the above, the shareholders and guarantors are forthwith instituting legal measures to refrain Fr Bwalya from misrepresenting CLZ and impersonating as executive director, a position that does not exist,” he said.

The board of directors has also threatened to take legal action against Fr Bwalya for abusing the facilities and possibly finances of CLZ.

“Finally, I hope the nation is informed that Fr Bwalya is not a legally appointed executive director of CLZ and the actions taken stand untill further notice,

“We, therefore, as an appointing authority, guarantors and directors challenge Fr Bwalya to convince us and the nation that he is the executive director of CLZ,” he said.

CLZ board chairperson John Kasongo said the organisation is non-political and purely a non-governmental entity that was registered to among others motivate orphans, widows and other disadvantaged citizens for economic empowerment.

He said the organisation was also formed to transform the lives of the poor and to improve their quality of life.

Mr Kasongo explained that Fr Bwalya was not part of the founding members but was just co-opted into the committee.

“In 2010 the directors in their wisdom nominated and co-opted the following individuals as members of CLZ, Mr Richard Mandona (Lawyer), Dr Kalongo Nsofu Mumba (a civic/development activist), Fr Bwalya (Catholic priest) and Mr Kaluba Musenda Simuyemba,” he said.

He said it was the hope of the board that the co-opted members would add value to the organization.

He, however, said the activities of the co-opted members were contrary to the objectives and goals of CLZ.

According to minutes of CLZ obtained by the Times of Zambia, the organisation was supposed to be financed both through external and internal strategies.

“External strategies would include aid/grants through a proposal. The meeting also agreed that Fr Bwalya should travel to South Africa not alone but with one or two of the members of the Kitchen Cabinet for security reasons,” read excerpts of the minutes.

Asked as to why they had taken long to deal with the situation involving the Catholic priest, the board chairperson said the board was waiting to gather enough evidence.

“We wanted to give him enough time to hang himself, but now Fr Bwalya’s political activities are threatening us; I had to be summoned by Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) for money laundering, do we launder any money as CLZ,” he said.

On his reported fathering of a child with his former workmate at Radio Icengelo, the CLZ board expressed ignorance.

Several attempts to get a comment from Fr Bwalya proved futile as his mobile phone was switched off.

  1. awe sure things are bad, we dont really need these people & their fake offices to decide for us what we want, we’ll use our votes.

  2. It’s getting HOT in here! This randy, horny priest with a penchant for red slack/ shoes is really getting shafted! If you live in a glass house, pls don’t throw stones. You’re busy flashing red cards at RB yet you used to have unprotected se-x whilst pretending to be catholic priest? Sh-it has really hit the fan!!!

  3. If he has fathered a child then its not right for RB to call him fatherless frank bwalya:he qualifies to be a called a father!! LOL

  4. I thought Father Bwalya is the founder of this organization. It seems someone has received a brown envelop to discredit the father. One thing I like about the father is he takes his time to respond to such accusations. Let them talk, he will respond later.

  5. MMD cadres remember just recently you were telling us that Bwalya’s was CLZ was sponsored by SATA so how does this gentleman Mbalazi come in? As far we know, Bwalya has no partners in his crusade.Has become a threat to MMD too?

  6. You know this Change Life Zambia makes a lot of sense when it is people driven but when politicians, be it ruling party or opposition get involved, in the ways we have been witnessing then i think it losses meaning. Politicians have all sorts of agendas and are not to be trusted. CLZ, Divorce yourself from that kind of interaction with politicians and continue your noble cause otherwise you will just be another political party. Remember even opposition leaders are supposed to be accountable to the people otherwise if they get in power they will forget you existed.

  7. MMD machinery at work. I wonder if Dickface Jere n his cloonies do not see how desperate they are appearing to the educated and ordinary Zambians! The source of the story tells it all.

  8. just like when george mpompo was made to run like a chicken on mandrax at DEC, you too Frank bwalya will know the meaning of ”Boma ni boma”. You will learn the folly of trying to bring down a voted GRZ by inciting street thugs to riot not wanting to wait for the ballot, endangering the nation with tribal implossions. OP, make an example of this cancerous tumour in our midst.

  9. Imwe ba fi.kala! Why do you all need to talk irrelevant issues? We do even care whether the organisation is called Change Zambia or whatever, we only see Fr Bwalya and those that follow him only remember him from his time at Radio Ichengelo.

Maybe he should just be an organisation unto himself! That way he can talk without some mouse trying to eat his fingers off!

  10. Father Big Pimpin’ all red outfit Walya EATS in his own garden in more ways than one. Nika Lazo ka mambala aka.

  11. #15 you’re hilarious! ati Big Pimpin’ red outfit LOL The chap looks ridiculous in those red shoes, slacks, shirt and waistcoat (perhaps even a ka red bamba). Too much comedy pa Zed; bu lazo everywhere from politics to NGO’s and Church.

  12. “We wanted to give him enough time to hang himself”……lol!! and he has really hanged himself, he just go a red card now.

  13. MR I repeat MR Bwalya does not seem to have a clear agenda. For him everything is about RB. Zambia is not RB. RB will not forever be president. Can you imagine asked as to whether this is true the man answers that he will only answer when he knows how RB met Thandiwe. Here is a newsflash for you Frank. Thandiwe explained how she met RB. So what does this have to do with fathering a child when you are not suppose to? The man was just caught pants down and he doesn’t want to admit. He shouldn’t have personalized his agenda, now the boomerang is back and it’s too fast and dangerous for him to catch and he is regretting having thrown it and thus the ducking of very simple questions

  14. I thought Fr Bwalya started this NGO, though he initially he called it Change or Die Zambia. He registered it as Change Life Zambia Ltd and we all know that this NGO is associated with Fr. Bwalya. Now where are these pimps claiming to be board members or whatever they call themselves come from?

  15. so fatherless bwalya is a father after all he shafted a catholic nun using his big pipe like simon kabanda did also, so bwalya has balls after all. I hear father bwalya alikwata bwamba ubusuma

  16. ‘For crying out loud’ does he really need a useless board to distribute red cards. He can even today go and form Red Card Zambia Ltd if he wants and continue with his activities as if nothing happened.

  17. #Shazza
Your father must be very proud of bringing you up in such a good way. Just curious do you tell your father as well ‘ati ubwa##a bwenu busuma father’. What a disgrace!!!!!!!

  18. MMD at work just wondering how much the spent on this move. mama yoyo taxe payer’s money being misused.

  19. But dd the so called board authorise the red card campaign for them to wake up today and join Mumbi receiving taxe payer’s money

  20. Our Phd students are researching to find who the true founder of CLZ is. As for the allegation that he fathered a child, it just shows that he was a fake priest. He need to clean his heart before he can clean GRZ.

  21. Do you think we are very dull in ZED? Thats why we will never have ‘ education for all’ in zed/. Politicians will still need to abuse the uneducated by bringing up such stories knowing they will beleive!!. few months ago we were told Father watever had received money from Sata to buy vehicles….a week later the vehicles were for Dr Kaseba…a few months later the vehicles or is it sata had no case to answer…Mumbi goeas scot fre…our money wasted on the investigators what a circus!!!

  22. No. 4 super k, I completely concur with you! But those are Zambian “ba kuwe” (cowards)! Period! When things go sour, they are the first ones to say, we are not the ones!. It is very clear this chap (Catholic Priest Father Frank Bwalya or popularly known as Father Bwalya) is a Father as in title (as Mr would be). However, he equally resigned from the faith and he will always be known by that title (as in Archbishop Milingo). Therefore, these ignoramuses must not make comments which are outside the Catholic Church. There is no punishment for him by any man but God! Only He has the power to punish! I beseech you to pray for him (Our Father Bwalya) i.e.! Even our very own Kafupi despite his shortcomings (not height) we can address him as President FTJ!

  23. This is for the PF cadres. Let’s sing a song. When I ask a question, you should answer “Father Bwalya.” Ready? Here goes
    1. Ndani anadya live mailo? Answer: Father Bwalya
    2. Ndani anadya live mazo? Answer: Father Bwalya
    3. Ndani azadya live mailo? Answer: Father Bwalya

  24. These are clear signs of desperation by rb and his cronies. if fr. bwalya is not a factor as they keep bragging, why should they be so bothered about everything he does.? viva red card campaign!!!!! RB can’t sleep coz of you. pliz, keep it up!!!! we are with you! tunisia and egypt are coming to more countries……..get ready.

  25. Birds of the same furher. Sata has kids outside marriage to a Catholic archibishop Mpundu`s sister. Mr. Frank Bwalya had always been f.u.c.k.i.n.g one of the girls working for Radio Chengelo and she has a child for him. We have always known this. Infact there is another lady within the neigbhourhood of Riverside who also says her recently born baby girl is Frank Bwalya`s. Infact Frank was even called by the girls parents at which he neither denied or accepted, but said he needed a DNA test. This is a known issue. No wonder the guy decided to join politics and who else cud he join other than the Cobra who behaves in a similar manner to him. Let the chap save us from this embarrasing situation. It will be better for Church leadership to stop him from masquarading as a priest. SHAME
