PF resolves to dissolve Pact

Share

Is this the end of the road for the Pact?

THE Patriotic Front (PF) has resolved to pull out of the pact with the United Party for National Development (UPND) although it is afraid of informing Zambians, some PF sources have said.

The sources said in Lusaka yesterday that the PF leadership did not want to shoulder any blame for the collapse of the pact despite being convinced that the two parties could not work together.

The party officials, who withheld their identities, said an emergency meeting called by the PF top leadership last week agreed that the alliance with UPND was not workable.

They said party leader Michael Sata, who was in Luapula Province at the time, had given a go-ahead to the meeting where those in attendance were told that the PF president had even instructed secretary general Wynter Kabimba not to respond to concerns raised by the UPND over the need for the two parties to harmonise economic and governance issues.

“Those that attended the meeting were also told that Mr Kabimba had been instructed not to respond to the so-called ultimatum by the UPND because the PF does not need the UPND and would go it alone given the margin by which Mr Sata lost in the last elections.

“At this same meeting, PF members were told that this is the reason why Mr Sata has shifted attention from the UPND and has now started calling upon other opposition political parties to gang up with the PF,” the sources said.

Forum for Leadership Search executive director Edwin Lifwekelo said he was aware of the PF meeting at which it was resolved that the pact was going nowhere.

Mr Lifwekelo, a former secretary general of the PF, said in Lusaka yesterday that he had information that the opposition party had a meeting last week at which it was agreed that they should discontinue with the pact and instead focus on promoting the PF.

According to Mr Lifwekelo, the irregular land allocation by PF councillors at Lusaka City Council was also discussed.

He challenged Mr Sata to tell the nation why he had never bothered to address any rally with UPND president Hakainde Hichilema if the pact was in force.

But when contacted for comment, Mr Sata said Mr Lifwekelo was lying.

“First of all who is Edwin Lifwekelo? Tell Mr Lifwekelo that the pact is none of his business, he is lying,” Mr Sata said.

UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma said the party had not yet received official communication from the PF on its position.

“The resolutions of that meeting have not yet been communicated to us and it will be premature for us to make a comprehensive comment on the matter,” Mr Kakoma said.

Asked whether his party still considered the pact as being intact, Mr Kakoma said “the pact has not been officially dissolved. Until it is officially dissolved or one of the parties pulls out, we take it we are still working together.”

  1. this story, though presented as news is just like a rumour. ‘sources’….sorry but without authentic sources, you may as well have just quoted any blogger or anybody on the street

  2. Lifwekelo has never been a PF secreatary general naimwe ba LT. who is heading this ka institution employing to ma school leavers without any capiriance just because they all from the same tribe nyama soya, i wonder if there are people who can reason from easten, having some of the top leaders we have seen. am sure the boss must Lungu cellphone or zulu, banda money.

  3. This is not news…..there has never been a Pact in the first place. It was just a question of which Party was fo.oling the other. The problem with our opposition parties is that their opinion of forming the next government is based on who will be the President. Rather than focusing on issue based campaigns it is all about who is a better President in waiting, HH or Sata. Sad as it is that is just the truth. By now they should have been polishing up a unified manifesto embracing the best of each party but all we hear is that they are yet to meet. The clowns in government must be rejoicing as their fellow muppets outside it go on squabbling. Frankly speaking the whole current lot of our politicians are just selfish individuals with nothing better to offer. God help us!

  4. # 2 .Not Again

Its you and RB who are dull.Look at the way RB has failed to run the country almost in all sectors.

about the Pact, UPND are just stubborn and excited teenagers who think they cant be ruled by anyone other than a Tonga!.a dangerous misconception.

  5. To the World: I’m writting a book our nation’s plural politics the utopia of embattled tabloids

Title: THE TOWER OF BABEL AND THE CONFUSION OF LANGUAGE IN DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED ENTITIES.

  6. No. 6 lady Gaga,
I didnt say RB is smart anyway coz they’re just the same, so don’t misunderstand me! They all belong to the museum! Anyway am more intelligent than you and who ever you support.

  7. HH you are the right man for Zambia. The so educated popo like Pro Saasa, Doc Musokotwane, GK, are a let down they always change their thought on the economy of Zambia. Today wind fall tax is good tomorrow wind fall tax is bad what type of Professors, Docs do we have. Please get educated to save your relatives in the village not your pockets PERIOD.VIVA HH. No more madalas.

  8. PF where I belong should not cheat OURSELVES that sin e we lost by 30 something votes in the 2008 elections, then we shall win without UPND. It’s not possible. Mr, Sata is being cheated. Whilst iam aware PACTS shouls not be formed to reward losers who cnnot make it on their own, I still feel for NOW PF shouls not go it alone. PF will live to cry The combined individual votes of PF & UPND will be more than what MMD will get but assingular counts, MMD will triumph. Mr. Sata this is the last chance for you to get into State House with the support of UPND. I admire UPND but If the PF goes it alone, I’m afraid, MMD will go through, through vote buying and rigging in remote areas.

  9. Ba #1
What planet are you on almost all news paper story either have named sources or withheld that doesnt mean its true or false.
The way you put it its like we should just stop reading the news stories…
sometimes try read the story without bias

  10. The sooner the pact collapses the better. The PF will learn a bitter lesson starting with Mporokoso after next week.

  11. The defunct Pact was damagingly divided from its conception, and only an overhaul with leadership change in the level of mutual communication and understanding can ameliorate their none progressive onset of chaotic regionalism, kaponyalism and sectarianism of the PF troll Frank Bwalya.

  12. #12 mpangula mputyu well spoken for the first time very factual though i dont agree with you on rigging. sata can never win elections on his own and if its HH his is just a tonga party and only gets votes from southern province with extra few from tongas scattered in other provinces

  13. The Picture is very illustrative . You have some dude with a dull face and the other a brighter one, seemingly signifying fading and emerging glory respectively. MCS you have been of great service to Zambia, your time is up and i mean this in the most decent way possible.

  14. 1. HH has already announced he is going it alone. But the MMD are so scared of PF they want to make it look like its PF who have pulled out, therefore letting Zambians down. Just report it at it is, HH has pulled out.

2 . Let us wait for the offical PF statement, nbot sources as quoted here.

  15. It seems each time we have general elections there is a ghost that cheats Sata that he can win elections without the support of Eastern province, Southern province, North-Western province, Central province, Western province, parts of Northern province (Namwanga & Mambwe areas), peri-urban areas of Lusaka and peri-urban areas of the Copperbelt. And now Sata has even lost significant chunk of Luapula province, he might only get 40% of the Luapula votes. The problem is that Sata is advised by people who are not objective, like Kabimba. If Sata was surrounded by smart guys, he would have won the presidency this time. Anyway perhaps its God that block this guy Sata.

  16. Michael Chilufya Sata will this year suffer a 2nd and fatal heart attack after the swearing in of RB! Forget about unseating RB for as long as you continue with your fragmented opposition effort. Mark my words, King Cobra is setting himself up for a fatal stroke/ heart attack!

  17. Strongly sympathize with many of our highly learned journalist relatives and friendz who work for the public-government-controlled media houzes, for some newz itemz they have to publish/broadcast, not out of professional conviction, but becauze the job dictates so.

  18. A word of advice to that PACT is put aside differences focus on stumping out MMD. Neither UPND or PF will topple MMD single handedly. Atleast come to resolve your differences when you are in power. Majority of zambians are looking up to the PACT to bring sanity in the govt and atleast to their livelihood. Chances of a PACT scooping this year’s elections is 100% plus. MMD are very well aware of this so they will invariably try to sell the PACT for their benefit even if it means sweating blood. If this is true please iron out your differences but the source of the story ‘Times Of Zambia’ is not trustworthy.

  19. Does the PACT still exist? Me I thought it was just an experiment the two parties were trying to weigh! Thanks to His Excellency RB for the roads that are mushrooming in all the provinces

  20. Pact or not this country has major problems that need sorting out. We desperately need objective minded leaders and not the current crop that behave worse than school children during a break. Lets face it the majority of our leaders do not have what it takes to hold the positions and responsibilities they have. The big questions I’d therefore pose are: what can we do about it and how can we do it? We really don’t need ‘leaders’ whose mission is to speak crap at each opportunity they get and yet cannot demonstrate to the country what their development contribution is. Journalists also I beg you try and not publish every piece of garbage you get. Analyze stories, get the facts right.

  21. And you call this news…Times of Zambia a toilet paper. Now they will report that Hantoboolo on LT said HH and Sata desolved the pact. Yes they desolved it yesterdat…can the times of Zambia report this news please? RUBBISH.

  22. Number 13, I’ve read so much about the PACT and only with credible sources would I believe such an article from the Times Of Zambia. I understand fully that it is the prerogative of the editorial team to choose whether or not to publish names but at the same time I refuse to be gullible as I know that state-controlled media will pretty much do whatever it takes to destabilize opposition political parties. If you’re as smart as I am then you know Lifwekelo was their sole source:)>-

  23. It sad to people who behave like kaponyas. Read the news and understand it. By calling HH and Tonga party it will not make PF go through. Believe me you, if PF goes alone into this years elections, then Sata will live to dream to be the president of this mother Zambia. No and i say again, NO single party will win except we join our hands together. Let us condem the break up of PACT if at all that is what PF ischeating itself.

  24. A word of advice to that PACT is put aside differences focus on stumping out MMD. Neither UPND or PF will topple MMD single handedly.MMD has muscle by virtue of being in control of govt machinery. Atleast come to resolve your differences when you are in power. Majority of zambians are looking up to the PACT to bring sanity in the govt and atleast to their livelihood. Chances of a PACT scooping this year’s elections are 100% plus. MMD are very well aware of this so they will invariably try to sell the PACT for their benefit even if it means sweating blood. If this is true please iron out your differences but the source of the story ‘Times Of Zambia’ is not trustworthy.

  25. THIS IS THE SAD TRUTH TO OUR OPOSITION PARTIES. THE END OF SATA IS EMINENT. NONE OF OUR OPOSITION LEADERS (PRESIDENTIAL MATERIALS I MEAN) WILL BE ABLE TO WIN RUPIAH. RUPIAH WILL WIN THE ELECTIONS AND HH WILL STILL HAVE TO STRIVE TO BE A POLITICIAN. HOPING HE WILL BE ABLE TO WIN AFTER RUPIAHS NEXT TERM.

SO YOU OPOSTION FOOLS IF YOU WANT TO MAKE SOME SENSE, JUST RESOLVE ALL YOU ISSUES AND WORK TOGETHER OR ELSE YOU WILL CONTINUES CRYING FOOL UNTIL SOME OF YOU WILL BE RENDERED IRELEVANT.

  26. Ah ba Times of Zombies na Lifwekelo dont sleep for fear that Sata may become President while they are asleep. Pact or no Pact I can vote for MMD, never as long as it is headed by Chiluba.

  27. # 6 LADY GAGA

Why wont you be civil in your language? we want to hear real issues. When you say RB has failed, you elucidate (not to mean he has succeded). Again you say UPND is full of teenagers, are you sure? do you mean among supporters or the leadership? are there no teenage supporters in PF or you are chasing them all? Are you sincere when you say kakoma,HH,Kapita, Cornelious e.t.c are teenagers if thats wat you mean?

You seem to be full of the blind royalty drive and this is the reason why every time we Zambians vote today, tomorrow we are complaining. Lets look at real issues because only real issues will unite us and drive us towards a common goal.

  28. I pity MCS (and this nation Zambia). The man can mobilise but doesnt simply know where to to take his mob. His vision is simply none existent. Even if MCS won the votes either alone or as pact leader, you simply cant be allowed by the system to take the leadership mantle. He is safer behind HH. He will be a historical hero should he simply announce HH will lead the pact.

Sometimes I fear Zambians are simply bewitched. Cant we ever make the right choice? A nations that destroys the cream and preserves the trash.

Hear is an option, the last one for the matter of it. Let the PACT field Magande for president if we hate HH that much!

    God save Zambia!!

  29. IT IS SAD WHAT A TIME WESTED ANY WE NEW PACT WAS GOING NO WHERE THAT IS WHY THEY ARE FAILLING TO ANNOUNCE PRESIDENCIAL CANDIDATE. MMD WILL GO THROUGH WHATEVER HAPPENS LET HAKAINDE JOIN MMD OTHERWISE HE IS GOING NOWHERE ,POLITICS BECOMES A DIRTY GAME WHEN POLITICIANS START FOOLING PEOPLE SO MANY POLITICAL PARTIES WITHOUT PROPER GUIDANCE WE ARE FEAD UP.

  30. #32 MUCHENDE thats not me at #6 its an impositor with no balls or spine. its a kaponya who gets inspired by my hard hitting blogs. Im MMD and RB fan through and through. I can never back a fool carrying an empty tin on his shoulders.

  31. Kakoma again commenting.UPND should look for another spokesperson, kakoma is out of this world.Dull chap who cannot see the writing on the wall.

  32. WE ALL KNOW SATA DOES NOT MEAN WELL FOR ZAMBIA, I PITY THIS MAN, HE WANT TO GO TO PLOT 1 TO REPAY NKONGOLE AND CASH HE HAS BEEN CONING THESE LEBANESE. SHAME. N WAY IN THE NEXT 8 MONTHS HE WILL BE IN THE DUST BIN OF ZAMBIAN POLITICS LIKE CHAMA CHAKOMBOKA. VIVAAAAAAAAA HHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHH

  33. #19..i like your comment..sata will learn it the harder way this time around..viva HH..the pf should have agreed to work together for the better..

  34. Times of Zambia has no credibility. Its news are concocted stories by money mongers in the likes of Lifwekelo and others mearnt to please RB so that he can continue financing them before his official eviction from Plot One in September this year.Ba Pact ignore him and soldier on.

  35. We wilL never disband! NOT NOW, NOT WHEN WE TOO CLOSE TO BOOTING THE SUCKERS!!!!

    william banda,rb and LT PROPAGANDA!!

    MBAKAPOLI…

  36. Some of you people surprise me. If the Post had written about MMD quoting anonymous sources, you would have believed. Whether you hate Times of Zambia or not, thats the truth that you shall always deny. No Pact ba.fi.kala. HERB for 2011 upto 2016. Dont be blind to the truth. Anyway, I understood you. Its too good to be accepted. You are hurt by it bamambala

  37. With or without Pact, MMD is going out. I dont agree with people saying only the pact can remove the MMD thieves, no I dont.

Whether the pact is there or not, the writings are on the wall, MMD kuyabebele bane.

  38. #6 LADY GAGA, you must be blind if you do not see the developments in Zambia. Even usually critical foreigners see it. The latest was President Obama who the other day announced that Zambia was selected among the five (only 5) recipients of the US Millenium Challenge funds. Since you don’t read or see, I will tell you some of the criteria to qualify: efforts at development and good governance.
You guys lies will never take you anywhere and you should know that by now, that is why your leader is a perpertual loser. You simply cannot hoodwink Zambians to vote for you by telling lies, never.

  39. The problem with the pact is that the leaders especially HH is not selfless.Even if i were Micheal sata, i would not accept to surrender to a minority party.

HH from the word go should have accepted to deputise Sata and then wait for His turn. Most of us know that PF has a larger following than UPND, thus, the pact leader should hail from PF and the deputy from UPND.

Our brothers and sisters from UPND do not see it that way.UPND pls see the light and place yourselves better.

  40. the pact never hit the ground and its good that it never got a pulse to reward a loser, one michael sata on the fragile back of one under five kid HH. sad affair, grandpas should respect the backs of our great grandkids…

  41. Lets face reality, PF or UPND will never win if they do not come together. The pact was the best solution to change. Swallow your pride opposition and liberate the Zambian masses living in poverty. HH, SATA look beyond your personal gain and unite for the sake of the people the sooner the better.

  42. The truth has come out. Now the way forward is for UPND to work with MMD so that PF should not form next Govt. This will be the only sensible thing to deal with characters like Sata and his PF leadership. HH will stand as an MP on UPND ticket just like his MPs but Presidential votes go to RB. Brother Joe Kalusa start the ball rolling, PF has cheated and abused our members using the Pact yet all along he knew he was not ready to work with others. UPND leadership was ready to make Sata a Presidentail candidate of the pact but there was a problem of how to share positions in cabinet , civil service and diplomatic service.

  43. So Edwin Lifwekelo is taxpayers money today. Anyway, this is what we expect from Chifire,Mumbi,Vj and Lifwekelo. The game continues.

  44. Its just propaganda, how can one party dissolve an agreement between two parties. Even the authors faied to use english correctly to convince educated people like me.

  45. #51
    UNITY IS KEY TO SUCCESS
I WISH ALL WHERE ONE LIKE MY FATHER AND I ARE ONE said Jesus Christ
this is very powerfulweapon to use if the group has to succeed otherwise If they think individually they are all doomed…. time will tell and mark my words HH or PF, NAREP, ADD, FDD, UNIP, OR MAGANDE…….do not cheat yourselves……

  46. PF/UPND PACT IS REAL, VIVA SATA VIVA HH
SATA+HH=70% SOLUTION TO ZAMBIA ECONIMOIC PROBLEMS
PF/UPND PACT IS VERY MUCH ALIVE.
    DONT KUBEBA!
    NI ZEE!

  47. I f this is true then PF or UPND will never rule.on one can win alone more especially UPND.U do not command very big support more than PF.Thats just the truth.UPND is a party that is Tonga inclined.u cant win whether u become big heard or wat ever.HH is still young and becoz he does not command a lot respect ba mudala should rule then HH later. No pact both of u PF/UPND forget.I support the pact but not going alone—NO NO NO NO NO NO.Both of u will lose.think properly.u have the support of zambians but u disapoint them when u talk of splitting.u cant base on past record that u win.in bemba they say UBULIMI WAKALE TAUTALALIKA UMWANA.

  48. No. 16 Lady Gaga why do you hate Tongas this much? Has HH and indeed any other Tonga commited any crime to you? You are such a disgrace to say the least. Why do you hate god’s creation like that? Are you sure that only Tongas support HH? I am really quite upset with you, you think only your tribe is superior? The way you see Tongas is exactly the way they see you. The difference is in the fact that they are able to control ourselves and be able to focus on progressive issues , and clearly you are so petty as to focus on tribe. Search your heart and repent.

  49. Ever heard of the saying ” UNITED WE STAND AND DIVIDED WE FALL” come on UPND & PF let us bury our hatchets and forge ahead it’s not too late, PLEASE we beg you !

  50. i wonder why pipo are saying UPND is small party if so why does PF want to be in the pact? weather we like it or no southern province is important player in zed elections and i wonder where this bullshitt of a TONGA can not lead zed came frm ok then sata will also never lead simple.the major reason pipo hate HH is cos of his tribe and thats why we going to vote for him coz he is TONGA BANYOKO!!!

  51. The majority of commentators, tribal commentators, argue that SATA has a larger following and should be given the mantle. I guess you are wrong, what is Sata’s agenda? Have you ever seen his manifesto? Apart from rantings and attacking other political leaders, has anyone got any clear agenda for Sata. I liken him to King Julien who tells all animals to go and throw themselves in a volcano before they come back to their senses and all listeners agree. Sata would clearly land us into a ditch and I don’t want to follow him blindly. For me I take all leaders that present themselves and analyse their messages, passions, consistency, character – are they respectful of others. Kwaliba waya at a palace and you just tell a retainer “your uniform yalichuchuka”. No regard for the person wearing…

  52. Fellow bloggers, and all democrats out there! Please don’t buy this cheap shyt LT and mmd propaganda!!
THE PACT WILL NEVER DISBAND… THESE ARE JUST SICK WISHES BY mmd spin doctors(LT).
Never! and not now, when we are so close!

    Viva Pact!!!!

  53. That fading uniform. Problem with SATA is he wants to make fun at every occasion regardless of how those mocked feel. He has insulted North Western Province people, that they are like buttocks that can never be in front. He said this to Kavindele. In Ndola he told disabled people in their community he will bring electricity so that nangu ubushiku kuti basala inda (pick lice easily) We can never have such a president bane. It’s better we remain with RB with all his shortcomings than have SATA. I guess it is for the same reason Chiluba did not pick SATA to be MMD president. Get it clearly you SATA supporters one who can’t win in North Western, Western, Southern, Central and Eastern cannot be republican president. SATA is not accepted in all these areas. Northern, he shares with MMD…

  54. The traditional leader said yesterday that Mr Sata was not credible enough to become Republican president because his behaviour left much to be desired.

Narrating how the PF leader quarrelled with Chief Mumpolokoso’s retainers, the traditional leader said it was disappointing to see a presidential aspirant behave in a degrading manner.

  55. The chief said the PF leader’s decision to insult his retainers was a direct attack on him and made Mr Sata’s credibility to stand as president questionable.

“Mr Sata came to my palace and sat on one of the chairs. He looked confused as evidenced by the quarrel he had picked up with one of my retainers.

“He started from nowhere making fun of my retainers that their uniforms were old when in actual fact they got their uniforms a week ago. It was typical of a person with nothing to say,” Chief Mumpolokoso said

  56. Don’t lie to the Zambia we all love # 73&4…
paid to spread false assumptions! HE is the peoples leader and not one who only appoints individuals who can SAY NARRATIVES LIKE HIS… VIONENI VIMA SILU!

  57. It is so funny to hear that people wanted to harmonise manifestos, which ones because as far as am concerned there is only one manifesto here and that is for UPND. Pf’s manifesto is in MC Sata’s head and does not need hamonisation at all, it’s a one man show. Everyone in pf is just instructed of what to do by one man Sata, all starts with him and ends with him. I really wonder what kind of GRZ we are going to have. So we can say that since pf people have no document to guide their actions, hence all comes from Sata then he is the one who instructed his councellors to allocate each other plots in Lusaka. What a party indeed, I thank God that I do not belong to this Mashamba party of no direction.

  58. Hats off to all who are concerned with the possible break up of the pact,we will only make head way if supporters held thier respective leaders accountable for their decisions.Let`s not just side with our parties even when they are seemingly make wrong moves,we have a Zambia to save & the best way possible is through the pact. The problem is not with people giving the story but the leaders who are keeping us in suspense.

  59. ## 73,4 & your empleyrs!!! why you only now making’ PACT STORY’ a sub handline on your page when you had it running as your massive main story?????… if the Pact were ever going to disband, it would be huge breaking news and you would have it all over your movie tv, shyt znbc, daily ‘meals’ and times of ‘Zambia’, or and Gvernment printers!

We shall not be fooled by very cheap chair-nalism…! Not now and not when we are very close! we can see plot 1.

  60. Sorry old man Sata. I blam your advisors. you could have won maybe this time round if you acted presidential material and showed you have an economic plan for Zambia. Instead your advisors are just watching you going round like a deranged ido.t insulting and fighting every one. Zambian electorate are quite informed and the street hawkers you accost are giving you the illusion of a Zambia behind you. Now i am convinced you are surrounded by thieves with no iota of integrity to be pushing you infront of crowds with no economic plan to explin to the pipo.
    Sorry shikulu.

  61. I would rather vote for a monkey or dog that Mc Sata’s pf, a party without a manifesto. Shame on it’s blind followers, I do not blame you…but your thinking capacity.

  62. if the PF thinks that they will carry the day without the pact……………. well i think they should wake up and stop dreaming. And whoever is lying to the PF that they will win these elections he is a day dreamer.Am a young politician and when i look at the state of affairs uh!!! no future.Zambia is looking for leaders who will help in reducing the poverty levels of this country any way we are watching!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  63. I can imagine if this party (pf) will win, the quality of ministers, e.g GBM Mwamba, Jean Kapata(foreign minister) indeed God forbid.

  64. i have evry reason to belive that this so called RB and MMD are doing evrything possible to control the media. i have been following how ZWD and LT have been reporting. very similar to times of zambia and daily mail nowander they cobbon copy a lot of reports form these papers. shame.

  65. Pf can have large clouds of people at their ralies, but when it comes to voting only a few vote for them. People attend their rallies just to listen to their jokes. I have a cousin who never misses Sata’s campaign rallies, but has never voted for him. Banda came later, but people opted for him than the lunatic Sata.

  66. On “THE Patriotic Front (PF) has resolved to pull out of the pact with the United Party for National Development (UPND) although it is afraid of informing Zambians, some PF sources have said…. that the PF leadership did not want to shoulder any blame for the collapse of the pact despite being convinced that the two parties could not work together” it is amazing that PF Bemba-Kaponyas led by the Chief Kaponya, said to be from Tanzania, are actually cowards.

Interestingly, dull Bemba-PF-Kaponyas who have been used by Sata MC to think that they are superior to any other Zambian tribe have been duped byPF serpentine Sata MC (who is said to be a foreigner from Tanzania but mimics to be a real Zambian) into believing that indigenous Zambians are not worthy to become President of…

  67. On ““Those that attended the meeting were also told that Mr Kabimba had been instructed [by Mr PF Sata MC] not to respond to the so-called ultimatum by the UPND because the PF does not need the UPND and would go it alone given the margin by which Mr Sata lost in the last elections… PF members were told that this is the reason why Mr Sata has shifted attention from the UPND and has now started calling upon other opposition political parties to gang up with the PF,”” I am glad that this position is what has been noted by any sensible Zambian as the position of PF following media reports especially in the POST Fudge (PF) Magazine whose sells have seemingly badly dropped — as a copy of the POST is found at 1,000 pin around evening time in town.

    Be blest all.

    Matt 6:33

  68. #2 u ar a dreamer, i doubt the intelligence u claim to have. Are you saying u ar more intelligent than all those followers of sata, and every one who voted for him in 2008? Am sure u ar insulting alot of us who think entrusting this country into pipo like hh will be a disaster. Cause success goes with archievement…he can be successfull in business and that i can give A+ over Sata. But Sata is successfull in politics and i can give him A+ and hh D+ plus because he has no track record in politics…donchi kubeba

  69. HERE WE GO IN CIRCLES AGAIN. WHEN THE TRUTH IS LAID BARE WE DO NOT WANT TO TAKE IT BECAUSE WE ARE HIGLY OPINIONATED. SEE THE TRUTH AS IT STANDS. PF IS A PARTY OF THUGS. PEOPLE ATTEND SATA’S RALLIES BECAUSE OF HIS ENTERTAINING KAPONYA LANGUAGE. HONESTLY, CAN YOU ALLOW SUCH A CLOWN TO RULE THIS COUNTRY? WHERE ARE THE INTELLECTUALS? THE PACT COULD NEVER WORK BECAUSE BOTH LEADERS’ AGENDA WAS TO UNSIT THE MMD FROM POWER AND NOT TO SERVE THE COUNTRY. THIS IS THE MORE REASON THEY ARE FAILING TO HARMONISE THEIR AGENDAS. NONE OF THE TWO CAN CLAIM TO HAVE POLICIES TO DRIVE THIS COUNTRY FORWARD OTHER THAN ASCENTION TO POWER. THE MMD NEEDS INTERNAL TRANSFORMATION FOR IT TO BE IN LINE WITH PEOPLE’S ASPIRATIONS. DO NOT STICK TO THE OLD TRADITION OF HAVING A SOLE CANDIDATE AS IF THERE ARE NO…

  70. The young man ( Sunny Hichilema Hakainde) is the first looser in this marriage of inconvinience that was. I like the young man’s stance though, to take a go at the presidency.HH was an underfive in so far as not having known SATA and agreeing to go into partinership with him(SATA). SATA & MMD’s William Banada are the same.SATA’s politics of lies, insolence, kaponya mentality, character assasination and forked tongue speaches. What I have heard and read in the media and from those that have worked at arms length with my uncle Micheal Sata is enough to predict his character with a high degree of accuracy. They always sing vote rigging when they loose. Sponsored crowds of people that are not eligible to vote and those that have not registered does not mean “anything” except in a Kaponya…

  71. Let the best man win? I am happy that Sata will never be president of the Republic of Zambia. Sata will never win in Southern and Western provinces. Thank you Jesus, I hope this will be the last time to hear from Sata

  72. Listen guys, whether the above article is just propaganda but the truth is this: No pact, MMD is back in power until 2016. Now is this what the UPND and PF want? The choice is yours?

  73. By ditching UPND, PF has just squandered its greatest opportunity to lead Zambia . Anyway, they thot they could ‘use’ UPND then dithch them. I urge my fellow youths not to trust these old finished polititians – the likes of King Co. On the other hand, no well meaning opposition party should allow PF to prostitute with them coz the will be ditched later. Let SATA go it alone and loose alone for the last time. He has initialed and punched the last nail in his coffin. MHPCRIP – May His Political Career Rest In Peace.

  74. DONCH KUBEBA.
    PA BWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  75. Too bad you are too stubborn Mr Sata, it’s all over for you, even your former sponsors won’t see sense in giving you financial support now!
BBC# 101 YOU ARE VERY RIGHT!

  76. i cant lilly understand what you are talking about. in 2006 elections levy won by about 13 % margin.he died MHSRP.IN 2008 bye elections with the same voters RB won by 1.8% now 2011 with more youth registered and the demand for 50+1.what do you think? to honest withyou guys 2011 nishapwa shapwa no matter what ,if it means using power we shall. we basapota MMD nishi mulalyano,ba fikala lets share.

  77. RB is no different from Sata? we need to elect people of our generation…pipo that are able to use the internet? not old cycled politicians……with mutiple sexual partners. Thank Jesus as this is our turn to rule? I am glad st maiko is challenging Lubinda….we thank him for his service in kabwata? we shall actually give him enough time to sing at karahari?

  78. President Levy Mwanawasa says opposition Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata IS A finished politician and has nothing to offer.

Mr Mwanawasa said he defeated Mr Sata in the 2001 and 2006 presidential and parliamentary elections hands down. The president said for this reason he refused to be judged by Mr Sata’s standards even if he continues to level negative accusations against him.

Mr Mwanawasa said this on arrival at Livingstone International Airport.

He said allegations made against him by Mr Sata that levies collected from markets
go to State House should be dismissed by Zambians people because they lack
credibility and only aim to discredit him and his economic achievements.

  79. # 107, very shallow wishful thinking that! And who gets Central, Northwestern and Northern Provinces? Certainly not that Hooligan who is busy insulting royal highnesses and the poor boys and girls at Daily Mail

  80. Sata is done…HH should be patient? come 2016, he shall be President. unfortunately RB will pull through this year, only pray for prosperous year for all zambians home and abroad.

  81. the prophecy says Rupiah is just a bridge for young pipo to take over. And nw time has come. The awakening of the zambian youth. The time of the enlightened and in deed those without a coplex of imferiority. What a rude shock. Things r changing so fast. Is’t because UPND has been doing alot of underground work or the Tunisia/Egypt effect has started sweep the streets of Lusaka? Of late most pipo i have talked to are for the young. The only real change indeed – HH.

  82. I happened to pay our “lovely” high commission offices in pretoria this week, when nature called i excused myself to visit John’s room and then OOH MY GOD!! what i witnessed!! Thinly cut daily mail and times of Zambia news papers for toilet paper. Be your judge.

  83. i want to understand something.what is a manifesto? please educate me about this. did MMD have one in 1991? if yes did they follow it? is it the same one that Dr Chiluba used? i want to know what is contend in the manifesto.please help.

  84. Sata is really a disgrace. He has really contributed to the down fall of the pact.Any way this is his last chance to contest on earth and he will as usual lose.i dont see any small party joining sata instead they may join HH AND SHAME SATAAny way sata and HH van still resolve the mess.

  85. # 120 Chinaman,
In my understanding, a manifesto is a declaration of policies objectives et cetera; explicitly. Unfortunately the guys in MMD had one one objective: answering to the people’s call of removing Kaunda and his cronies.

  86. The PACT is better buried now than resolving issues while in govt. The Ideology of the two parties are irreconcilable.Zambians want change, but positive change. Its good news to disband the PACT and work for the betterment of the parties.Wait and see! Vote wisely vote for credible leaders.
