The United partry for national develoment UPND youths have expressed saddness by the contents of the letter the PF leader has written to its party President Hakainde Hichilema.
Mr. Hichilema wrote to the PF leader asking him to come to the round table so that the two parties can iron out pressing issues.
The letter is said to call the the PF leader to discuss the harmonization of the two parties’ manifestos, share Pact Cabinet portfolios equitably & Select the Pact President.
UPND national youth spokesperson Brian Hapunda said it is unfortunate that the PF leader has chosen to dwell on a petty issue as condition for PF to come to the round table with the UPND.
THE PF leader is said to have given the UPND the condition that UPND Youth Chairperson Joe Kalusa should first apologise and must be displined by the UPND leadership for having described Mr Sata in one of the print media late last year as saying, “Mr Sata lacks seriousness in the Pact”.
Mr. Hapunda said that Mr Sata and PF must be reminded that it is the PF who have been on record more calling Mr.Hichilema all sorts of demeaning names such as, “HH is under 5”.
Mr. Hapunda has since accused the PF leader and his Party leadership of lack of seriousness , that they have never been committed to the Pact.
He said that it was very clear that the PF have withdrawn from the Pact adding that their behaviour spoke volumes about their stay & commitment to the PACT.
He said that UPND Youths are not bothered by the withdrawal of PF from the Pact.
He said that the UPND is a strong Party built on the cornerstone of National Development and can stand on its own.
He said that the UPND will give Zambians a government that will answer to their many economic and social needs they have been denied by the MMD government in their 20 year old rule.

On year has been lost both on the Campaign Roads and in the Parliament. MP’s from the opposition have NOT been engaged profoundly in National Debates. They have gotten fixed on The Pact subjects, manoeuvring how they would seek top position if it had worked.

The solution is 50%+1. That way there be no need to worry about HH and Sata both standing. The vote would be split three ways as usual. Then the two highest polling candidates would go head to head. The race would then be conclusive.

Everyone is a spokesperson in UPND it seems. Joe Kalusa is very indiscipline indeed and is always against the pact and that’s why he receives good coverage from hopeless media houses. PF needs UPND and UPND needs PF but if this Hapunda thinks UPND can win without PF,that’s poor political judgement.

What is wrong with Sata asking UPND to discipline Kalusha? Sata qualifies to call HH an under 5 because they are both presidents and have been calling each other names at their level. What is wrong with UPND? Sata wrote a letter to HH, the President, & see who spills the beans, a very junior member. Just the other week, UPND complained about Kabimba going to the press on Prof Chirwa’s letter, & Kabimba was rightly positioned to do that, and condemned him, now a letter between the top leaders is being ridiculed by junior members. Know that education is not only economics, other professions are equally important for national development, at whatever level. This education insult is not only to PF, but also to millions of Zambians from whom UPND wants votes. Those of you who are lucky to have attained higher education must not forget your background. I don’t think your entire families are as educated as you are, so let us be humble & respect all Zambians regardless of education. If UPND thinks it is for educated elite, then it’s doing politics in a very wrong country, where more than 80% of citizens have never attended university education. This is why PF has gained popularity as a common man’s party.

#28 & 30, education means acquisition of knowledge and being able to apply that knowledge to improve our everyday lives. Every parent wishes to send their children to school in order to acquire knowledge and become better citizens. Most parents including myself go further – we want our children to be better educated than the level that we have reached ourselves. Now if you are suggesting that the popularity of PF among the common man is because the common man does not believe in education, then that is a contradiction of the above facts. But it may explain why PF does not appreciate Banda’s achievements in building more schools, they loathe any news of new schools being built.
Out of the PACT, back to RB, my vote on RB, no need for time wasters. Atleast RB’s performance is far much better than that of Chiluba
I say this with relevance and love for my Country, that its good that the TRUE COLOURS of the so called pact have shown BEFORE the elections. Imagine what would have happened if this entire circus we are reading was happening AFTER the elections with the pact in Govt. What kind of a joke of a Country would we have evolved into? What value or development would our Country have derived from this sort of behavior? A flat NOTHING. Instead, we would have gone into a negative spiral. We should thank God things have panned out this way at this early stage.
If there is one lesson we have learnt from this whole pact episode, it is that you cannot build a lasting alliance purely based on hate and nothing else. HATE begets HATE. Hate is its own worst enemy. Now, can we please move on.

The writing is on the wall. From the majority bloggers on this site, HH and UPND can discern that they either stay in the PACT as a junior partner or leave the PACT and Go it alone. The UPND is a junior partner even if it goes into a PACT with MMD as as time is unlike the way they bulldozed Nawakwi’s FDD.
There is no time to waste as the UPND has to hold its provincial conferences and come up with strategies to win the elections.
So, the best the UPND can do is to tone down on the PACT and concentrate on its campaigns if they are to be taken as a serious party and stand a chance in the forth coming elections.

Ba 28, Sata’s letter to HH was an open letter copied to all media houses. therer is nothing wrong Ahpunda has done. In fact, he is UPND National Youth Coordinator and not what ba LT have quoted him as UPNDYouth Spokesperson.
HH and his UPND were advised by many people and organisations that they were wasting their time trying to go into a Pact with Sata and PF. Sata is not a leader. Sata never fought for independence, infact he was a police constable in the colonial govt at the time when real men were fighting the colonialists. Sata ran to the UK at independence in 1964, to seek asylum. He was one of the known sell-outs during the independence struggles. In 1991, he was the last one to leave UNIP because he thought Kaunda was going to annoint him the new leader. In 2001 he was the last one to walk away from supporting Chiluba’s third-term bid because he thought chiluba was going to appoint him the successor. How can we trust Sata to run a country he didn’t fight for? MMD IS EVEN THE BETTER ALTERNATIVE !!!!
To me both Sata and Hakainde Hichilema do not deserve to ever rule this country. Sata is a sell-out and you can’t trust him with our national wealth. Sata is also a known tribalist who will divide the country within just a few months of getting into power. Those of us who ae old enough know him very well, we have seen him grow to his current age. About HH, Hakainde strikes me as a dull chap with a terrible sense of judgement. HH has demonstrated a lack of serious judgement by attempting a PACT with Sata. What is worse, HH still believes that the PACT will work. HH will never wake up from his slumber of daftness; we can’t entrust our national resources into the hands of a guy who shows such a serious lack of judgement and timing. We need somebody new, or else RB should continue!

Even if it was an open letter, copied to media houses, it’s only HH who reserved the right to respond as the letter was addressed to him. Unless you are suggesting HH delegated his NYC to respond in such a manner. I’d call that illogical logic, it’d have made sense if he responded through his spokesman. In functional organisations, you can’t find such random & sporadic press releases, even if people are privy to info. This shows dysfunction on UPND’s part.
That was an official correspondence which needed a proportionate response, it such behaviour that is weakening their pact, & dehydrating people’s confidence in them.
Here is another painful truth. HH should not panic, because Sata has always known that there is nothing to form a PACT for. The truth is that the people who cared much about the PACT are only a percentage of the total voting population. I don’t even understand why all this talk, HH and Sata are quarelling about the need for a PACT called for by their core supporters. The majority of voters don’t care what happens to the Pact, they have actually been laughing on the sidelines. The truth is that HH is the guy being laughed at for such an adult to have walked into a deal with an untrustworthy person with his eyes wide open. HH is a worrying chap and thank God so far he shows no signs of ever being President of Zambia. We need an alternative opposition leadership, not these jokes!!!

The behaviour and outlook of pro-PF sentiments on this site show that PF would treat HH with contempt and dismiss him even if he bowed down to the serpent to allow him to lead the pact. No reasoning is allowed, you can tell in the hate speeches they are churning out here. They are fed with similar feed.
