Share

PF candidate Maynard Misapaa

The Opposition Patriotic Front has won the Mporokoso by election held on Thursday. PF candidate Maynard Misapa retained the seat he held under the MMD with 2,844 votes.

He was followed by the MMD candidate Dominic Musonda who polled 2,217 votes. Returning officer Felix Kaluba declared Mr Misapa as the duly elected MP Friday morning at 09:05 Hours at the Bulangililo community hall.

Mr Kaluba also announced that National Restoration Party candidate Joyce Mukando came third with 435 votes and United National Independence Party candidate Anthony Nkonde polled only 47 votes.

The Mporokoso seat fell vacant after Mr Misapa resigned from the MMD following his dismissal by president Rupiah Banda as sports Deputy Minister.

  1. Bemba win not Zambia win. We in upnd under HH it is Zambia win. Our part is not trbal like this Bemba tribe part. Where did this tribe come from?

  2. Congrats Right Hon Misapa for retaining this seat against all adversity and Viva PF. With MMD spending $500,000 for this by-election campaign it is heartening to learn that people are now thinking with their heads and not stomachs. Gone are the days when a ruling party would just turn up and buy off votes. Now people are accepting gifts from MMD but are voting for their beliefs. Misapa resigned on principle and has retained the seat on principle.

  3. Well done PF and shame on RB and his MMD after recklesly spending taxpayer’s money and pension contributions from NAPSA. The writing is on the way. People of mporokoso have booed RB with their votes

  4. #2 number 2. Why is it that just saying congratulations you go to depths of tribe. I think as at now we should worn up with tribe issues for once.

Please grow up when commenting issues to do with tribes.

    One Zambia One Nation

  5. Mporokoso BOOS Rupiah has now been justfied. The wind of change has began,be part of the revolution. MMD with your lip and paper development try hell not Zambia.

  6. Congrats Mr. Misapa. Well done ba SATA. We love you.

Aluta Continua. Long Live People of Mporokoso and Long live Zambia

  7. The wind of change is in the air….VIVA PF. The entire MMD NEC comped in Mporokoso and spent huge sums of money but still tumbled!!!!! Amaka ya bantu…..kuya bebele

  8. so is it true that the president was booed or not? I think he was, besides the man should have kept quite instead of denying it in public, now the BOO has become bigger

  9. Well done PF.

It wont count in the general election. UPND & MMD were in high level talks last night. It’s just a shame that SATA & HH wasted time. UPND will from now own vote for MMD in northern province

  10. MMD are heading for a disaster! They are all f.oolishly campaigning for RB while forgetting about themselselves. It’s UNIP in formation with only Eastern province MPs who will remain in parliament after the elections.

  11. RB earlier said that he was not booed and that the winner will be a confirmation of who is popular in Mporokoso. The votes have been counted. Let RB now go to Sata and kneel down to say: “Your Execellence Mr. MC Sata, you are popular, not only in Mporokoso but Zambia over”. Let him start preparing his hand over to Sata. Where is the shame of Chief Mumporokoso? This is confirmation that he does not speak for the people. He speaks for his stomach. Where is the pride of Times of Zambia, ZNBC, Daily mail and LT who all teamed up to black mail the political command H.E. MC Sata? Has he not proved that he is cabble to suffocate state machinery?

  12. Inonge Wina wants out from PF. she is angry that she was not included in the PF Cabinet. her family have told her that she must come out and realsie that MMD is contributing to develeopment in Western Province. it also appears like the Induna’s that went to meet RB a few weeks ago have persuaded her to make an exit. also Lubinda has is heading to UPND. This will change the spectrum of western province fo PF

  13. # 2 Ndajata ngo’mbe: people like you belong to the gallows! Start thinking with your brain not with you tribe iwe kaboke! pumbafu! mundyemundye!

  14. Give credit to where it is due. Congrats to the PF for winning the seat. However, I hope the candidate that won (Misapi) realises that his resignation from the MMD entailed billions of Kwacha being spent on a by-election instead of the money being spent on i.e. purchasing medicines, paying retires or building more school. I hope he does a cost-benefit analysis of his decision as it is such people that are ensuring that our nation remains underdeveloped. With him winning, I serious hope he provides intelligent arguments in Parliament that will help in formulating as well as amending obsolete legislation. Least, this was just a stupid exercise that has drained our govt coffers. At this late stage, we don’t want by elections. Defect when Parliament is desolved and lets save our meager money

  15. #2 why did sakwiba sikota, chisanga and lubinda resign from from upnd? thats a tribal party! a party whci could not allow any other tribesman to take over from mazoka. upnd will never win u ntil someone from another tribe takes over. hh contested the presidency with fellow tongaz. how did misapa win under mmd if bembas are tribal?pf was still in existance by then. let me not bring myself to your level

  16. Congratulations to Maynard Misapa, but you have to work very hard to retain this seat with the slender under 700 majority. The turn out was poor due to heavy rains apparently, so don’t sit on your laurels because in September, it may be a different story. As for Mr Dominic Musonda, nil desperando. You are within reach of the prize. So while Misapa is away in Lusaka go door to door and resell yourself. There are only 6000 voters here and you only need just over 3000 to win. You can do it in the next 6 months.

  17. The twists and turns of Zed Politics. i hope UPND do not make a mistake and join MMD with all these secret talks going on. we need a clear winner in this years election. no PACT but just single parties, then we can see who is the real-main-man

  18. 2 is a problem and a useless dearmer who always dreams that his southern provincial party (USELESS PEOPLE FOR NATIONAL DISTRUCTION (UPND) can win this years general election. come on man be reminded that tribalism is only ecouraged by your stupid comments.

    congrats PF

  19. Congrats Maynard Misapa of Pi yeFu (PF) on winning the Mporokoso MP by-election. This result is just like the Luena by-election that Charles Milupi retained and Pi yeFu must not get overexcited. As a matter of fact, if UPND was not committed to the failed PACT, MMD would have probably retained the seat — as Misapa has retained his seat.

Congrats to MMD and UPND also for winning some respective by-elections in Mbala and Siavonga. I still need to know what transpired in the Mutaba Ward of Masaiti, Copperbelt Province, where PF and UPND competed against each other.

As a matter of fact, this is an indicator that MPs in Luapula Province will win their seats back if the Supreme Court throws out their appeal not to be expelled by Pi yeFU.

Be blest and vote 4 HH and UPND to form GRZ……

  20. # 20..MADE IN ZAMBIA

    Formerly Lady Gaga.

You are just a bunch of a hooker minded and disordered Zambian..whats wrong with You Just congratulating PF.No wonder you have really lost count of what has bruised in between you.

  21. Another by-election, another loss…. in as much as the PF is celebrating Parliamentarly seats, it’s high time they worked on convincing strongly the people who vote in Presidential elections, otherwise they will be passing the mock exams failing the final exams…

  22. #2 you are an ***** chi color what sort of a fool are you .go to hell and know that your candidate cant win

  23. # 3…. i dont understand what change you are talking about. this is the same misapa who was in MMD and GRZ a few months ago. is he going to deliver now tha he is in the opposition? or has he retained his seat because he performed well whilst in mmd and GRZ. these are question we must be asking ourselves.

  24. Number two you belong to the dust bin! and you need to wake up from your sleep! UNPD is only in Southern Province and parts of Western Province. PF is in Lusaka, Copperbelt, Luapula and Northern and Central Province..are these areas Bemba areas? You are a fool!!! You are just a jealous H***** H*****!

  25. #2 you are an ***** chi color what sort of a fool are you .go to hell and know that your candidate cant win
pumbafu skanka pakunya mumbwe. Naimwe ba #25 a win is a win what margin? the seat was MMD so who should work hard? YOU CALL 700 SLENDER OUT OF HOW MANY VOTES CAST/

  26. People # 2 might not be a southerner but someone from MMD who is trying to bring dispute between the tribles of Zambia. To tell you the truth, someone somewhere is making this up even a person from the North or cental, west, Luapula can do this. As we celabrate the victory, remember the ‘ ne Zambia one nation”

  27. According to the 2006 MP elections result for Mporokoso;

    MISAPA Maynard J MMD 3827
    MUSONDA Mulenga W U(PND)DA 2340
    MAKUMBA Abraham PF/ULP 2268
    NSAMA Job APC 143

    and the 2011 by-elections;
    MISAPA Maynard J PF 2,844
    Musonda Dominic MMD 2,217
    Joyce Mukando NAREP 435
    Anthony Nkonde UNIP 47

It is clear that Maynard MISAPA has lost his 5 years ago popularity by about 1000 votes. This is a clear indication that PF — which does not have the support of ULP (an offshoot of UPND) that allowed the then ULP-PF’s MAKUMBA Abraham to get 2268 votes now — has not by any margin gained popularity in Mporokoso of Northern Province. With this result MISAPA Maynard should be worried that he may not retain the seat if he stands again in the next 6 months or so in the tripartite elections…

  28. Yesterday Mr Rupiah Banda claimed he was not booed and said his popularity will be seen by winning the Mporokoso seat. I wonder what he is saying today. The MMD are so blind that they cannot see that this man is a serious stumbling block and a liability to their party. They will be red-carded and badly humiliated at the general elections, just wait and see.
Big congratulations to the PF, well done! By the way, Senior Citizen and your fellow MMD beneficiaries on this blog, where are you?

  29. Interestingly, the total votes cast in 2006 were 8,578 out of the total registered voters of 12,120 but now in 2011 only 5543 votes were recorded while we have about 18, 000 registered voters this year in Mporokoso.

The difference between 8,578 of 2006 and the 5543 of 2011 is 3035 which could be the number of voters that could have voted for the mighty UPND had it decided to participate in the by-election since UPND/FDD/UNIP got 2340 votes in 2006 while UNIP has continued to get sad numbers of 47 now in 2011.

Anyhow, the about 12000 voters that did not vote in this by-election could be UPND supporters that did not want to support Pi yeFu (PF) in this by-election due to the problems that serpentine Sata and PF’s Wynter KABIMBA have used to break the PACT completely.

    Be blest…

  30. #39 Maestro Hhehhehhehhe, remember it was raining during the day until evening but some voters braved the raind and cast their votes. So if there had been no rain it was going to be a land slide!

  31. No.44 are yu not aware that there was bad weather on the poling date?Try to make reasonable bloggs and compare the seasons rather months the elections were held.

  32. Tribal politics are a reality in Zed. I think #2 just highlighted this. When I was in Mufulira last time Bembas were chanting that kuno telufwaya umwaushi. Bembas are very tribalist goons and quick to cry out when scratched. They behave like Isrealites behave towards the people of Palestine. The only difference is that Jews have brains of course. They love ubwali so much and yet they cant even grow mealies. Ba tubulu!

  33. MDD is like a diaper! They have overstayed in power and think they own Zambia.Kuyabebele this year
Ifimatebela(MMD) filenunka!!Even our roads tell the same story.MDD are a shame to Zambians and SADC.Shame shame shame..booooo!!Mporokoso has given you kadionko!!

    # is a canternkerous nicompoop! a qualified fool who can see beyong his nose!!

    Congrats PF,you the people’s force(PF)

  34. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe for 2011 would-b President of Zambia HH: What evidence do you have to confirm that those who didnt vote are UPND? for your information UPND has never got above 1,000 votes in northern province

  35. #2! You are a confused, disoriented, uncoordinated hungry looser. I can’t find a reason for u to JUST KEEP QUIET if u had nothing of substance to say. Try to emulate your colleague #29. Although his analysis is not well thought out but at least he is civilised… Congrats PF!!! congrats people of Mporokoso for giving Mwalya Mweka Dady (MMD) a RED card

  36. GOVERNMENT JITTERY OVER SATA?
Reports reaching Zedleaks are that the Government has instituted a cut throat attack on PF leader Michael Sata. It is alleged that at a special meeting held at state house , senior personnel of both government news papers were given stern warning to ensure a continued negative reporting on Sata stays in the headlines. A simple count showed, without much surprise, that Sata’s name was mentioned an incredible Seventy Nine times in the Zambia Daily Mail and Forty Nine times in the Times of Zambia of the 17th, and 18th , February; beating The Post news paper which only had Three mentions of Sata. Sheeee!!

  37. 31 CHIEF MPOROKOSO

Yes! PF has won and its fair plays.

Have you lost your bearing? I am for HH & UPND. Look at my past comments. Are you guys so desperate that everyone has to be associated to Lady Gaga. Please go and show your diarrhoea in the toilet. I Believe Lady Gaga is in Zambia and I am in German.

  38. This is a low blow. PF used to trounce MMD 4 to 1 and now they are sharing 50/50. Sata can say goodbye to his 38% he got in 2008. At this rate pf will be lucky to get 25%. PF needs the pact more than ever.

  39. Congratulations PF for the victory. The people of Mporokoso have exercised their democratic rights in a free and fair elections. On the other hand the rigging theory has once again been disproved. And since according to PF cadres, the buck stops at the President, congratulations to His Excellency the President of Zambia Mr Rupiah Bwezani Banda for living up to his democratic ideals, and for promising to uphold free and fair elections in Zambia.

  40. Congratulations PF. I am also happy to see NAREP is still contesting elections. It takes time to build a party but it’s good to see they are gaining some experience.

  41. congratulations! please bloggers lets stop these tribal remarks we make. jst work hard and contribute to the well being of humanity as a whole. no single tribe in zambia is strong or intelligent enough to make zambia a better place

  42. #53 & #53, please all calm down. Lets respect each other’s varied opinions. Some of the people here make comments you may not like, but when you meet them, they are rather very pleasant people. You communicate more with people online than in person. The friendships and the way we relate are changing and growing in different ways. Lets embrace each other. Lets agree to disagree sometimes.
PF won, thats ok and good for them. May be MMD, UPND, etc will also win somewhere, thats ok too. Its called life. People of Mporokoso must be respected for their choices.

  43. Chi # 55 Kabwe Pande, this is a by-election to select a peoples representative and the people of Mporokoso right now have no confidence in getting proper representation by the MMDs’ Musonda. RBishs’ image is right now tattered and I forsee him being referred to as the Mtlhanthe of Zambia, who was only in state house to conclude the late LPMs’ tenure and really took advantage to mess us up by misapplying our funds and giving tax rebates to rich minbes.
PF, congratulations, Mr. Misapa you definately listened to your voters! Let’s give MMD a massive stroke by consolidating the PACT! VIVA PF and VIVA CHANGE!!!! Horaaaaaaaaaaay!

  44. #38, you have made my day. #2, no words for you. As a wise man once said, arguing with a fool just proves that there are now two fools!!!!

  45. #38, you have made my day. #2, no words for you. As a wise man once said, arguing with a F.O.O.L just proves that there are now two fools!!!!

  46. congrats pf! though this is not a better litmus test for PF to test their popularity as this was not grabing, it was like confirming Misapa’s popularity. On presidential Mr banda will still win come rain come sunshine because many in this area are conservatives who have no trust for Sata. If pf fielded another candidate on this election and won the seat, we could have said they are popular. This was the same as Luena where Milupi was just testing his popularity to stand as a party and not an independent. This also means pf guys are not popular hence they had to raid on Misapa’s popularity for them to win that seat.

  47. Well done PF and to both MMD and PF, you have conducted yourselves peacefully during the campaigns. The Chilanga/Mfumbwe scenario should never be encouraged. Thank You, to all Zambians

  48. @ 2, you are a fool and you think using your nails. Thats why we maybe scared to vote your tribe to plot 1 and i guess your tribe may not rule Zambia. Whether educated or not, this tribe stil retain that ka umbuli. I have stayed and worked with many of them, i know them

  49. Looks like this was a test for Misapa and not PF. Irrespective of whichever party he would have defected to. He would have scoped this seat…….

  50. #2 i have no coment ninga chimwe. Tongas are good people leave them alone dont force people to start despising them. Please napapata leave them out of your nonsence.

  51. Misapa has no principles to say the least, and the party(PF) which adopted him on it’s ticket again has no principles, such parties are not democratic. How much money has been spend on this bye-election which could have been used to to construct road, buy medicine in hospitals etc?. I wish electorates can start punishing these unprincipled mps. For pf I wonder if you will be able to better the living standards of people, as I feel from this bye-election that you will just be busy buying mps from the opposition so that you can be having bye-elections to use them test your popularity. These politicians have really taken zambians for granted, as they are doing more harm than good to our nation. Very selfish indeed.

  52. I just find it funny people are calling this change. It is like if I get Fanta, pour it in a Sprite bottle, all of the sudden it is not Fanta anymore it is Sprite…lol. You guys are funny.

  53. Speaking on arrival at the Ndola International Airport, the president said the result of the by-election would show exactly who is popular in Mporokoso.

  54. Congrats Hon. Misapa / PF. MMD has been rejected in rural Zambia. Good news. All MMD MPs start packing your bags. All rural Zed follow the Mporokoso lesson to MMD. We need you (rural zed) to stop the loomimg calamity of 25 years of MMD mismanagement. Narep I salute you. Your performance is good.. With the death of the Pact and MMD, I love to see Narep form govt. Maintain your principles of civil politics.

  55. #73 – Misapa resigned from MMD because he felt they could not support him as an MP to develop his constituency. He feels PF represents the feel of people nationally and as such he joined them. By resigning on principle he did not call fall a by-election but MMD did. If you are a truely reasonable chap, you should blame MMD for waisting tax payers’ money on this by-election when general elections are due in just under 4 months. Did they really need to call for these elections?

  56. #39, this how you should inteligently analyse the perfomance… I dont have to say much you can see for yourself! In an election, we talk abt relative performance not that meaningless analysis you are giving.

    MISAPA Maynard J MMD 3,827 45%
    MUSONDA Mulenga W U(PND)DA 2,340 27%
    MAKUMBA Abraham PF/ULP 2,268 26%
    NSAMA Job APC 143 2%
    8,578 100%
    and the 2011 by-elections;
    MISAPA Maynard J PF 2,844 51%
    Musonda Dominic MMD 2,217 40%
    Joyce Mukando NAREP 435 8%
    Anthony Nkonde UNIP 47 1%
    5,543 100%

  57. If people had faith in MMD, they could have voted for the MMD candidate as they could have treated Misapa as a traitor. Don’t compare with the Milupi issue, give credit where it is due. People were busy singing and chanting in Mporokoso that they want change, and that message has been heard loud and clear. Those votes are not only for Misapa, but also an approval of Sata’s leadership under Misapa will operate. Lets show intellect and sound judgement as we debate.

And the pro-Tonga bloggers, be careful not to polarise Zambians against the Tongas. The feeling that UPND is a Tribal Party is gaining momentum day by day, and you are loosing potential voters in many parts of the country. You are not making any effort to being national, just boasting about being educated. How SAD!!!!!!

  59. #44 just congratulate. You even have the trouble of fishing out trash from your archives.Your head must be full of cow dung….wake up and be ready to be ruled by PiyeFu!!!

  60. PF has no problem generating MPs, but to generate a president that is where the headache is.
Their chances were wasted in 2006 and 2008.
The graph has now developed a downward trend from now on.

  61. #80 you are just exposing your ignorance here, it is not MMD to call for elections but the constitution of Zambia which say when an mp resigns, people are left without representation, hence an election should be called. Just because MMD is runing GRZ does not mean they are the ones who demand for an election. I know knowledge is too expensive for you thats why you are sticking to ignorance. Banda is more popular in Zambia than your Sata, as he came to be presidentail candidate in 2008 but still defeated your MC Sata who has been pf president for many years without success. Even a new person from the grave can still defeat Sata as he is a failure. I will never vote for Sata because he destroyed the Economy when he was number 3 in the Chiluba regime as an advisor to the regime.

  62. PF parodies 101: “They added the degree clause to bar Sata from contesting elections.” and now your very own Deja Vu has added a mix and I quote, “The MMD is spending billions buying Chibuka for the Kalusas from both PF and UPND to make destructive statements in order to destroy the PACT. That is why they removed the Degree and the Running Mate Clauses so as to make it difficult for the PACT to pick a leader”….hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha…awe I think my ribs have cracked. I have surely heard it all.

  63. Asked whether SATA will ever rule zambia, I would be more confident to say he WONT than to say he CAN.
Those who dont believe me must not listen to me but wait and listen to time which is more likely tell the truth than me.
Those who hope Sata will ever rule this country must continue to hope, but guard their hearts against dissapointment.
Of course I know that by now they must have developed enough strength to stand the dissapointment because the man has lost three (3) times and they have always handled it.

  64. Statistics have shown that 80% of Bemba speaking Men have married women from other tribes and these are the mothers to our eligible and registered votere in 2011. So, the net in PACT has been cast wider than you may anticipate. When I first took my Kaonde wife to Luapula, the first thing she did when she saw the banks of lake Bangweuru was to scream loud, “Why are we wasting time in Lusaka?”. I just said my dear wife, PACT will make Zambia a paradise. She is more PF than Winter Kabimba today!! Viva UBWATO!!! But certain chaps must start respecting leadership and stop pretending.

  65. #84, thank you! In fact two things have happened here. The MMD’S support AS A PARTY fell to 40% (from the 45% that Mr. Misapa got on the MMD ticket in 2006) while that of the PF increasd from the 26% to 51% that they have now got in 2011 election. The other dynamic is that Mr.Misapa popularity as an individual increased by from 45% (on MMD) to 51% when he stood on the PF tickect compared to when he stood on the MMD ticket. In any case is is now elected by the MAJORITY!!!

  66. #80..GK………..So this time around elections where free and fair and no rigging because PF won. In the same way wen MMD or UPND win pls PF accept the results the way MMD has accepted.

  67. # 39 nice try but what is the voter turnout in those two years. Mind yoo some people have relocated and in most cases statistics have shown low turn out in bye elections compared to general elections. . . Your analysis is not on.

  68. yayayayayayayayay………… we will eliminate them one by one until he stands alone by general election time.
RB will see how mad I become in the booth alone.
My thumbs up to the PF we are forming GRZ this year………..

  69. # 29 Maestro Hhehhehhehhe for 2011 would-b President of Zambia HH says:
YOU WANTED TO NOW OTHER RESULTS.

PF HAS WON THE MUTABA WARD IN KAFULAFUTA AND TWO LOCAL WARDS IN LUAPULA. THIS SHOWS FTJ & REBEL MP’S NO LONGER A FACTOR. NEXT IS CHIEF MUPOROKOSO & CHIEF CHIBALE, THE FORMR ARTISAN IN KCM TO BE KICKED OUT FROM THEIR THRONES. THEY ARE NOT FACTORS BUT LOUD NOISE MAKERS.

SO WITH THIS, I DONT KNOW YOUR BASIS OF SAYING REBEL MP’s IN LUAPULA CAN ALL WIN AN ELECTION. THOSE REBELS AR DEAD SCARED TO TEST THE WATERS DUE TO IMMENENT LOSE FROM ONE MC SATA.

  70. Bwana Mpombo,
we ask you to get on board before the floods sweep over the troubled waters of the Yem Yem Dee kuya bebele. Pabwatooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Let GK remain working on his poll averages as we the PF go forward.

  71. #92 I didn’t mean to do that to you brother, anyway the truth hurts but please its not too late to work together. MMD is a tired and lost horse. What is Mutati’s comment on the Mporokoso result? These guys have put Zambia in a FAILED state. When is the date of elections being announced kanshi? I know its in August 2011 but which day??? We need to start collecting our Windfall Taxes and give working force a breathing space on their payslips……

  72. #95 Mpangula Mputyu
It’s news to me. I didnt know of these other results. It’s good that all the Zambians have realised how they have been illtreated by these thieves, let them go, but a jail sentence is awaiting them eventually!!!!!!!!!!!!

  73. No need for any by-election from now. Whoever resigns, fired or dies wait for the big day. No need to waste public money. Politicians are the same.

  74. WE SHOULD ALSO CONGRATULATE EVERYONE FOR PEACEFUL CAMPAIGNS THOUGH PF TRIED HARD TO AGITATE FOR VIOLENCE WHEN THEY TRIED TO EMBARASS RB. THEY DID NOT HAVE TO DO THAT. IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF SATA WAS STOPPED LIKE THAT. ANYWAY HATS OFF TO THE MMD FOR RESPONDING IN A VERY MATURE AND SURPRISING MANNER

  75. PF can win on parliamentaly elections but not presidential because when many look at their leader they just remember the atrocities he commited such as the Chawama matchetes and panga and even the third term bid where he wated to forgo the constitution of zambia with his Chiluba. Banda is better because atleast he is cleaning the mess which Sata left in MMD with his regime of economic mismanagement for 10 years. Under Sata we do not expect change, no human rights as any human rights charter or document to him it is just a piece of paper. Sorry Sata we cannot be our president as long as you were the archtect of all the atrocities Chiluba commited. Our votes are too expensive to waste on a poor manager like you who will just bring divisions in our nation.

  76. This is a lesson for RB and his team. They thought by fielding Dominic Musonda would retain the seat. Maynard is a hot guy had he lost RB would ve been the happiest man today. Any way the pipo of Mporokoso have expressed their will through the ballot box. No violence That is how it should be.

  77. No. How many votes were cast in 2006 compared to 2011 for Mporokoso. Maynard has not lost any popularity. It’s actually the PF that have gained.

    Viva UPND/PF Pact……..

Don’t disappoint you followers by breaking up. WE WANT CHANGE

  78. @92 real issue man
Note that I’m not a Party Cadre. My point is to give credit where it’s due. It’s not about PF, MMD or UPND, it’s about respecting our fellow Zambians who made the decision through the ballot box, instead of insulting one another and other innocent people on this blog. MMD won in Mpulungu and Milanzi, and the elections were also free and fair, no violence. The type of some comments on this blog are really retrogressive and quite polarising. Hope you get the sense.

    @86 Chomba
Which ignorance have I exposed myself to, & what knowledge do you think is expensive for me? You don’t even know me, & neither do I know you. Kindly direct your absurdity at someone else. Are you suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia, full of of grandiose with a small brain? Damn!!!!!!!!!

  79. 46 Way Forward thanks, but that reason isnt convincing.

80 Brian that %age analyses doesnt make any sense. Consult the Statisticians at UNZA or elsewhere for better analyses on these Mporokoso results.

96 Mpangula Mputyu greetings, on your “PF HAS WON THE MUTABA WARD IN KAFULAFUTA AND TWO LOCAL WARDS IN LUAPULA” congrats to Pee yeFu (PF) on their winning those as well but what are the actual results in terms of numbers. I want to compare the UPND’s performance to that of Pee yeFu and eM eM Di.

Have a blest day and remember to vote for HH and the UPND in the coming tripartite elections.

  80. @80 Chomba
MY SINCERE APOLOGISIES FOR MY UNFOUNDED ATTACK ON YOU, DID NOT COUNTER CHECK MY POST NUMBER. I HOPE YOU FIND IT IN YOUR HEART TO FORGIVE ME. SINCERELY SORRY, ANY HURT FEELINGS THAT THIS MAY HAVE CAUSED IS DEEPLY REGRETED……..

  81. Good show PF!! Now, UPND can form an alliance with MMD so they can be in the next “government”. Congrats Comrade Sata, the in-coming President of the Republic of Zambia!

  82. 40. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe for 2011 would-b President of Zambia HH

Firstly I would like to salute you for your posting here, It is definately a drift away from your normal tribal rantings. Maybe you have had brain surgery or you are an imposter. It does not have the charecter of deep seated tribal hatred and dillusion. Well done, keep it up.

Anyway, my contibution is that looking at you figures you can not do a comparison on absolute values but on %. In 2006 it was MMD with 45% and PF 26% of the total votes cast. This year it MMD has dropped to 40%, and PF has almost doubled to 51%.

    ****Michael Sata for President

  83. 96 Mpangula Mputyu, on your “PF HAS WON THE MUTABA WARD IN KAFULAFUTA AND TWO LOCAL WARDS IN LUAPULA” it is surprising that eM eM Di supporters are busy presenting information that MMD has won in Mpombo’s area and so put up the actual results so that your current speculation does not create the PF confusion that has been created in the defunct PACT.

If the MMD won the Mutaba Ward in Masaiti and I am glad for them and I hope the mighty UPND Team will do better next time than howt they have performed this time around in the Copperbelt elections.

Have a blest day and remember to vote for HH and the UPND in the coming tripartite elections.

  84. Why is UPND finding it hard to say congrats?Unless it was UPND who won,we could have seen cars passing in town hooting. We as PF did say congrats when they won Solwezi,Mufumbwe and Chilanga seats without any conditions. But look at many opinions from UPND friends,am very disappointed with you UPND guys.

  85. # tiyeni uko na analysis iyabufi!! if u have learnt statiatics u cant kudnt have displayed that ignorance. the quality quality of result does not lie in permutations that existed that time….it lies in competitiveness. the result then cudn even carry weight bcoz it was predictable but this one every one wants to show how popular they are and PF has demonstrated this

  86. How do you expect upnd to praise you when you campaigned against them in Chilanga and Luena, though they won the Chilanga one. You were also happy when they lost the Luena seat, remember do un to others what you would want them do unto you. Be fair for you to expect fairness from others.

  87. Guys. Let us learn to be less tribalistic in our bloggings. We are all Zambians and we should learn to love and appreciate each other and be proud of our country. If we differ politically, it should not be because we are Bembas, Lozis, Chewas, Tumbukas, Lundas, Kaondes, Luvales, or Tongas, but because we have different views which transcend tribe, religion, or race. This includes brother Maestro He He He.

  88. Max Mbizo, Thanks my brother for the posting. Its so hurting that in this day and age people are so focused on tribes. What do you profit from hating other tribes any way? That is why our country is so behind because instead of spending time gossiping invention ideas that you are working on, you are burning your energy explaining how X will never be a president becoz he is from tribe Y. What a shame!

  89. mmd has lost a sizeable number of bye elections to the opposition, here being undp and pf, and in all instances they have accepted defeated and not a mention of the rigging as a cause of their loss….. just saying

  90. Congratulation to the PF and Misapa.Am sure H.E.R.B is preparing for congratulatory remarks now and the media ready to drop and spread ink on their papers.
Whoever wins deserves to be congratulated. One Zambia One Nation

  91. The change we want has started with Mporokoso (Dyonko tabesusha cup) and it will be final in general elections.in short “whether MMD team up with UPND or not REAL CHANGE IS COMING SOON”(VERY SOON) Congrats PF for introducing change.Let Nawakwi,Milupi,Magande,Masebo,Shakafuswa,Mpombo join the boat formely .They have good(similar) idears to the PF(People’s Force). This will add more force to the people.THE CHANGE WE WANT!

  92. #128 What change are you talking about under Sata, who has been there from the first repblic to date, they destroyed our economy with Chiluba when he was number 3 in the regime, they even sold our companies without putting up good policies to protect our citizens from foreign investment abuse and manipulation. Taking of change under Sata is like insulting some of us who know the meaning of the word, but if you talk of change to the worste we can forgive you as thats what we expect from MC Sata. We were going to take Sata seriously if he resigned the way Mwanawasa did when he saw corruption in your Chiluba/Sata regime. Mwanawasa showed us that you need integrity in life for you to be able to turn back to people for their favour to elect you, not the Sata way NO, no, no.

  93. Country men and women lets give Mr Michael Chilufya the vote in 2011.Trust me this man will change Zambia. Lusaka will be totally clean, hospitals will have medicines, roads will be built and govt stealing will be a thing of the past. Please lets give this TIGER of a man a chance in 2011. Vote SATA!

  94. 96 Mpangula Mputyu I am very disappointed by you Pee yeFo (PF) cadre for your “PF HAS WON THE MUTABA WARD IN KAFULAFUTA AND TWO LOCAL WARDS IN LUAPULA”” lie when the truth is that “The results [of the Mutaba Ward by-election held in Masaiti] show that the PF got the least results which were not even half of what the UPND got… MMD’s Gilbert Kaindu 477 votes, John Tuseko of the United Party for National Development 293. West Phiri of Patriotic Front got 80 votes“.

Interestingly, this clearly shows that PF’s 80 votes goes into the UPND’s 293 votes 3 times (sicne 3 * 80 votes = 240), a thing which tells us that UPND has grown in popularity on the Copperbelt more than any other party.

I like the fact that PF is now a shell: failing to win convincingly…

  95. The source of the ”” lie when the truth is that “The results [of the Mutaba Ward by-election held in Masaiti] show that the PF got the least results which were not even half of what the UPND got… MMD’s Gilbert Kaindu 477 votes, John Tuseko of the United Party for National Development 293.[.. and] West Phiri of Patriotic Front got 80 votes” results is the ZWD story entitled UPND beats PF in Copperbelt by-election.

Therefore, let the UPND announce their pulling out from the PACT on tuesday so that we can all see who is more popular than the other in 2011 between PF and the mighty UPND.

I hope PF will not regret their stance and behaviour when UPND will be forming GRZ Administration after the 2011 tripartite elections.

Be blest all and vote for HH/UPND…

  96. It’s only in his tribal homeland that Sata can win these days. Even in Luapula, he has lost it to Bwezani, he should forget about being president, ever.

  97. Using john phiri’s numbers in an LT parallel thread, the 2011 elections possible outcome:
    ”1. Copperbelt 1033211 (PF 35% MMD35% UNPN 30%)
    2. Lusaka 927841 (PF 25% MMD35% UPND 37%)
    3. Eastern 839691 (PF 5% MMD 75% UPND 16%)
    4. Northern 801224 (PF45% MMD 46% UPND 5%)
    5. Southern 777362 (PF 1% MMD 20% UPND 75%)
    6. Central 659033 (PF 8% MMD 30% UPND 60%)
    7. Luapula 536443 (PF 30% MMD 60% UPND 3%)
    8. Western 487095 (PF2% MMD 43% UPND 50%)
    9. North West 372372 (PF1% MMD 45% UPND 55%)”

MMD may win with 43.2%, UPND may obtain about 36.8% in 2nd position while PF may be sent to the politics dust bin of Zambia with only about 16.9% as the rest of the parties will share some spoils only significant as rejected votes and/or votes not cast.

I wish PF luck as UPND makes a step out of…

  98. #132 As long as the atrocities he commited during his 10 year rule remain in our heads we will never give him any chance. He is a man of no integrit.

  99. # 136, MAESTRO…ENJOY YOUR DAY DREAMING…….BUT WHEN YOU WAKE UP SATA WILL BE IN STATE HOUSE…..WHILE HH WILL STILL BE IN SOME BOARD ROOM DRINKING MINERAL WATER ARGUING ABOUT OBVIOUS ISSUES….TYPICAL OF UNDER FIVES…….

  100. Sata in state house!!!! I wonder how some people think. This qualifies to be the 2011 Joke of the year. All well meaning Zambians advocating for change should stop dreaming that Sata is the man to bring the required change. Atleast not him, HH or RB. If anything, I would advocate this change… both Sata and HH let their parties form a PACT under the presidency of Prof Chirwa. I form this opinion based on the ground that these two guys are selfish because they all want to be presidents which is a dangerous motive to get to plot 1. Until then, MMD continues ruling. VIVA New PACT!!!!
