Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata says the MMD’s celebration over the purported death of the PF/UPND pact is short lived because the pact is still intact.
Mr Sata says the PF/UPND pact is still intact because he has not received any formal letter from the UPND notifying his party of their pull out from the pact.
Mr. Sata says the pact is in the interest of the citizens and not individuals.
He told QFM radio that the pact is still in its infancy and is yet to deliver to the expectations of the citizens.
The opposition leader says what is happening in the pact is normal adding that a marriage without quarrels is not a marriage at all.
Mr. Sata has since assured pact follower not to worry as the pact is yet to prove its existence.
He says the only people who can be rejoicing that the pact is dying are those in the MMD as they want to continue plundering national resources.
Meanwhile Mr Sata has congratulated the United Party for National Development (UPND) for deciding to field members of parliament in all the 150 constituencies in the forthcoming general elections.
PF leader Michael Sata says the UPND is a registered and independent party obliged to work on its programs.
Mr. Sata says the UPND does not need to get permission from anyone for them to work on their independent party agenda.

If UPND is serious about the pact, why have they allowed Joe Kalusa, a Hall attendant at CBU to keep on ranting about their pact co-president? The MMD via a special State house monitored task force has spent K25 billion since beginning of the year on activities to disrupt cohesion in the Pact. The scheme seems to be yielding dividends going by the latest events in the Pact that is on the verge of collapse.

With Levy in the seat and many saw an opportunity and qickled turned to MMD. North Western Province was wholly UPND and people turned. The United Party for National Development (UPND) executive Committee has resolved to withdraw from the pact with the Patriotic Front.
The Watchdog has been informed that the UPND NEC met at the party secretariat late Thursday afternoon and unanimously resolved to end the pact.
The meeting which was chaired by party president Hakainde Hichilema also resolved that Hicilema will stand as party presidential candidate this year.
The NEC based its meeting on a letter which was written by PF leader Michael Sata to Hichilema saying that he will have nothing to do with the a pact.
UPND sources say that the NEC has directed the secretariat to respond to Sata and tell him that the UPND also has nothing to do with him.
Sources say that the UPND also declined calls to work with the ruling MMD.

President HH has been reported by MOBI TV that UPND is not to blame for the PACT’s problems. He said his UPND Team is willing to discuss the problems of KALUSA and Wynter KABIMBA at a table but UPND is just respecting Sata MC’s letter that he will no longer deal with the UPND.

It will be great if PF’s Wynter KABIMBA can ask NMPP to escort PF to State House so that the possible PF government Administration can enhance representation to people from the South and other areas of Zambia — since UPND which is a Nationally represented party has decided to concentrate its energies to make sure that HH is Zed President this 2011.

I like Mr Sata, I think he can make a good president. I am just concerned about the senior citizen’s health and age. RB has also been around since 1964 in politics. It is just too much. HH does not strike me as a national leader, he needs to be tested. It is a shame that in 2011 these individuals are the main options that Zambians have. I think we should go back to the one party state, lets call it the Zambia National Party (ZNP) or (ZANAPA). Imagine a party with a mix of Sata, RB, HH and others all working together for Mother Zambia. The one party state system works, just look at China, they don’t spend their time shooting each other down because they have one common goal, to develop the country, look at China now, the second largest economy in the world so far( will be #1 in 5yrs).
KK was right to just have one party, instead of condeming the idea by moving to the multi party system, we should have improved on the foundation that KK and his government built. The layed a good foundation but we chose to break that up and now as a nation politically we are divided along party lines, tribal lines in some cases, and regional lines too. This is what the multi party system does, it weakens the core of society and destroys while giving the illusion that we are at peace, democratic and free. None of these can be said of our country today. All our national strategic assets have been sold, no major development since the KK days, our labour laws are non existant, all profits externalised, poor hospitals, schools, poor infrastructure etc. One Party System is the solution.
The founders of MMD were enemies of progress because if the one party state was still in place today, I don’t think KK would still be the leader, he would have passed on the leadership to a younger perhaps wiser leader and our nation would have made major progress in all areas of human development. We had a good foundation, it just pdatineeded fine tuning and updating to today’s world of doing things. When people remember KK, the only choose to remember the bad things but rarely do people reflect on the good he and his government tried to do for our country and our neighbours who needed our help and assistance. KK needs to be consulted and the UNIP ideas need to be revisited, copied and updated and we will be just fine politically. God Bless Zambia.

Good news to all UPND members and would be supporters that finally Mr. SATA and his hooligans will have to face Zambians from N/western, Western, Southern, Central and Eastern province single handedly. They will face HH in Southern, Western, Northwestern and some parts of Central provinces. They will face the MMD in Eastern province and then for Northen, Copperbelt, Luapula and Lusaka all parties will grab some reasonable numbers. Good luck to Mr. Sata as your boat is destined for drawning!
HH can’t win and Sata will loose narrowly, but with the PACT they will both win by majority otherwise we might aswell hid to the calls of the MMD to join them in the “let’s build the foundation together” call…..Ye right twenty years and we are still building the foundation.
Sata is a comedian. How can he ask opposition parties to join hands when he’s killing what already existed with the UPND? He is deluding himself if he thinks it will be easy to win the elections without the UPND.
