MMD Lusaka province chairman William Banda has said that the death of the pact is pleasing news to the ruling party. Mr. Banda said that it was obvious that the pact was not going anywhere.
He has however congratulated UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema for the bold decision he has taken to leave the pact.
Mr. Banda told QFM that Mr. Hakainde should not be blamed for the death of the pact as he had tried his level best to ensure that the pact stayed intact but Mr. Sata’s stubbornness made the existence of the pact futile.
He said that Mr. Sata can never be trusted with leadership because of his greediness and appealed to citizens not to back the Patriotic Pront Front as it is a party that lacks morals.

It is a shame UPND had not behaved in a honest way. Always issuing contradictory statements. Prof Chirwa must be astonished to witness the chameleon colors in this party. PF & UNPD to work together
Although, the pact has died, UNPD and PF should still work together and campaign without attacking each other. Breaking the pack should not make once good friends enemies than they are with the enemy in MMD. They should use what the west call preference voting. UNPD should call for its people in the south to vote for UNPD or PF and nothing else. Similarly PF can call for northern to vote for PF or UNPF period. That is if you really dont want to our party then we beg you to vote for only between UNPD and PF. This year is for change and change must come only by voting between these two parties.
