Zesco United on Sunday host MAS of Morocco in a Caf Confederation Cup third round, first leg match at the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola.
The match was rescheduled from Saturday to Sunday following MAS late arrival on Friday.
MAS will be Zesco’s second Arab opponent in Caf club cup competition this season.
Zesco will be looking for better fortunes in the Confederation Cup where they were relegated after Al Ahly of Egypt eliminated them from the Caf Champions League pre-group stage earlier this month.
The home side will also be hoping not to repeat mistakes of their last Caf club cup home game against Al Ahly on April 23 that ended scoreless to hand a healthy advantage to the Egyptians who won 1-0 in Cairo in the return leg.
Another repeat performance in Ndola this weekend will almost spell the end of Zesco’s and Zambia’s interest in African club competition this year.
This is after two successive seasons of high profile appearances in the group stages of both the Champions and Confederation Cup by Zesco and Zanaco in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
