Andrew Kamanga: His Group formed the new ZSL

The Zambia Soccer League has been registered with the National Sport council of Zambia.

NSCZ announced the ZSL affiliation to the sports motherbody during a press briefing in Lusaka today.

The ZSL was formed by the Andrew Kamanga group after the FAZ AGM of April 30.
However, the NSCZ has set guidelines for the ZSL before it can start operating.

´The application was tabled before the full-board of the council on June 16,” NSCZ spokesman Mwitwa said at Fridays press briefing.

“The application was found to have met the criteria of registration as an affiliate of the National Sports Council of Zambia,´ subject  to the following conditions: a) That the Zambia Soccer League will only be implemented at the end of the season. b) That before implementations of the leafue, they need to hold elections to ursher in the permanent executive committee. c) that the Zambia Soccer League shall not disprupt the running of the current league.”

Mwitwa said the formation of an autonomous league structure like the NFL was not unqiue to Zambia as it also existed in England and South Africa and that it would operate under FAZ statutes as an affiliate.

  1. Still this will not solve the current confusion prevailing in our soccer game. If anything just wait 4 more troubles especially that NFL still has to follow FAZ guidelines. What about FIFA recognition?WAPYA MUZI more troubles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Somehow makes sense, and I hope all the stake-holderz take this az a progressive and developmental move. Kamanga and Simataa may not be darlingz of some people, but let’s give them thumbz-up, that they mean well.

  3. Creating parallel structures does not solve problems. If the NFL does not work then what, another association will be created? Why not resolve the issues on your plate before you decide to create more structures.

  4. Personally, i think i need assistance to understand what is happening to the administration of football in our country. Can someone educate me pliz!!! Why can’t this so called Andrew Kamanga wait until the current FAZ executive finishes their term of office and also seek to be democratically elected? Why the rush? And what does the FAZ constitution say about such kind of nonsense? I feel we need to change the FAZ constitution to avoid such occurances in the future.

  5. Ba Mwitwa you now confuse me… “… and that it would operate under FAZ statutes as an affiliate.” pliz educate me also. just how does one operate as an affiliate of a rival organization? one is formed to correct the FIFA mentality of another and yet be subject to the rgulations of the other? where will the sense be?

  6. This looks like a society of the blind, led by the insane! It rocks in vernacular actually, so try it and understand the state of our country’s structures!!! Next is FODEP; there is push and pull there as well…

  7. This will just bring more problems in other asociation. This means any one now can come up with a new association within other one and the national sports council have to register then.Remember this law,you allow one then you are gone.We hear boxing has formed one within the amateur one.The national sports council should have been very careful on this issue.

  8. Is this not the same as some political party forming its own government and against the duly elected government? Coup de tat at its best. Why have two different fooball associations within the same country? Kamanga must respect the rule of law. There is faz which was elected into offfice and their term is not yet over.Don’t be power angry for nothing kamanga/simata. zambia is not Somali where every jim and jack would wake up and say a particular province is under a certain warlord. What would happen if another group stands up and say we also forming our own football association? There would be total chaos ba kamanga/simata. Dont think that what you are doing other people cant do.It’s the fear and respect of the law that everyone respects.

  9. Well, the league will need teams to compete. Its about money and how players feel about this

  10. This is possible IF the ZSL is responsbile for lower division football leagues (e.g. Division 2 and below) and leave the Premier and First Divisions to FAZ, as happens in England and Wales.

  11. It’s the same Zambians here who claimed Chiluba should be allowed to finish his term and be allowed a third term to finish his projects. And what happened, the dickhead ravaged the country, by the time he was forced out of power, he had succeeded in impregnating the country with serious kleptomaniac vices that are to date still causing humongous injury to the fabric of the nation. It is the same with this Kalusha, by the time Zambians awaken from their slumber, there will be no soccer remaining to talk about. I salute Kamanga, pull the rug off the feet of that Iturian Kaboke lumpen, now!

  12. Ba # 9, please muleumfwikisha, that league is not a parrallel league but rather a league that is an affiliate to FAZ. This whole thing was masterminde by Kalusha and Andrew. The confusion was by the followers , e g people like Timothy Nyirenda who thought that they would not travel to the copperbelt in the case that thier team quilified to the premier league.

  13. Ka kamanga ,beta take your tarent to you fathers village and make you teams there .we do not confused characters in our own league.

  14. Use-less NSCZ. A divisive, political party masquerading as a sports body! How could you sink so low dancing to the tunes of a long time administrative prostitute Simaata and power hungry Kamanga and RB’s approval? You are courting anarchy and confusion in Zambia.

  15. Zambian soccer fans you are addicted to watching the English Barclays Premier League , even Primera Liga in Spain. Have you ever paused to think how they are run? For your information these are separate institutions from their countries respective Football Associations (FA). The English Premier League for example has its own Executive. The Premier League negotiates its own contracts with regard for example to sponsorship and Television rights. They make billions of pounds per year. This money is shared among the Premier League clubs. The English Football Association is responsible for the overall development of the game in England, organisation of the FA Cup and all national teams. Finito. It is the same in SA. Kamanga and Simataa know what they are doing!

  16. wow! There maybe our solutions in NFL. AK, and the team, hats off to you as you have our support. For once lets have something unique this time arround.
Congratulations for your rentless effort in your pursuit of better soccer management in Zambia.

  17. No.8 you are right. This Kamanga group should have waited for kalu’s term to expire than creating more confusions by introducing ZSL.Zambians and power awe bwafya mwe.

  18. I thought Kamanga/Simata wanted to be FAZ boss and not this nonsense they are now talking about. Suppose they had managed to overthrow the current FAZ leadership, would they have gone on with this NL? They are just power hungry

  19. Simata has dug his own grave as this thing will never work. I ‘ve never seen such expression of power hunger. this is the waist kind of it. Simata has been a FAZ president before ans I wonder what his contributions were and what new ideas he’s got now.
