Zambia has leaped 17 places on the Fifa rankings released today in Zurich.
Dario Bonetti’s side moved from 89 to 72 as they continue on their gradual drop from an all time low of 101 in February.
The rapid rise is thanks to Zambia’s recent 3-0 win over Mozambique on June 4 that saw them top their 2012 Africa Cup Group C qualifier.
Zambia’s Group C opponents Libya are 63rd in the world, Mozambique 106 and Comoros 164.
Meanwhile, Zambia are 16th on the Caf rankings jumping from 21st in May.
You see, you dont need to win any trophy to ‘leap’ on the FIFA charts.
Go Zambia Go! We belong to the top ten bracket in Africa, that is where we should be. South Africa, who are mere pieces of wood (amapulanga) can not be ahead of us, they have started slipping back to where they belong. #2 Would do well not speak down on South Africa or indeed any other team az football fortunez are very dynamic. Besides, it iz the malaize at Football House that have even cost us a place in the running for a place at the next Olympic Gamez where S.A is very much in contention.

Congratultions to Chipolopolo. I am a South African, and I do agree with #2 that Zambia is better than Bafana in as far as the national team is concerned. One of the concerns I have though is that in our Premier Soccer League , we seem to be getting fewer Zambian players of late. Instead we have even more Zimbabweans. I don’t even need to remind you of the value that Zambian players add to our PSL ( Mbesuma,Chansa, Katongo,etc). Why is this the case? Is it because Zambian players share the same sentiments as #2?
