Arrows Short Circuit Simukonda’s Awards Party

Share

Red Arrows put a dumper on Fighton Simukonda’s 2010 KCM Coach of the Year triumph after beating his Zesco United 1-0 in a rescheduled Super Division Week 11 game played at the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola on Wednesday.

There was no left-off for Zesco poor run of results over the two week midseason break in which they have collected just one point from their three delayed games played.

An 80th minute goal scored by Arrows and ex-Under-23 midfielder Mwape Mwelwa after the ball came off his knee from a corner in a scrappy match settled affairs.

And the loss came five days after losing by the same margin again at home to ex-league leaders Konkola Blades on July 9.

Sixth placed Zesco on 20 points from 12 games have collected just one point from their three rescheduled Super Division games played during the mid-season break.

Meanwhile, Arrows win sees them go top of the table on 28 points after 13 games played this season with a two-point lead over Blades.

Arrows head into Saturdays resumption of the campaign after a two-week break with a home game against struggling fourth from bottom Nkwazi on Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka in a Week 14 game.
