Mighty Mufulira Wanderers maintained second place on the Division 1 North table after drawing 2-2 at home with “Chingalika” Kitwe United in a Week 19 game on Sunday at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira.

Wanderers move to 32 points from 18 games with a match in hand and are one point ahead of third placed Prison Leopards and three behind leaders Indeni.

The home side were on target through goals by Humphrey Chandila and Harrison Kaonga.

Chingalika found the back of the net through their powerful attacker Fregon Kaunda and Clement Chileshe.

And in Mansa, Indeni bounced back from their scoreless draw at home against Wanderers a week ago to beat Zesco Luapula 1-0 in Mansa.

Indeni are on 35 points after the Farmers Day holiday Week 19 games.

  1. That’s great ‘Mighty,at least we are now assured of playing MTN Super Division next year,Go Go Mighty..

  2. mufulira wanderers you are no longer mighty, if you are mighty this time you would have been in super division

  3. I honestly feel pity for Mufulira Wonderers. They can no longer be called Mighty coz even in Division one they are struggling. They can not be assured of a promotion even if they are second on the table. I hope they will improve.

  4. I remember the “Mighty” Mufulira Wanderers of the Charles Musonda days, Kalusha Bwalya, jonston bwalya, Ashiors Melu, David “Efford” Chabala, George Lwandamina, Paul Chela, Ackson”Scud Missle” Shimbala and many more. Mighty was a darling to watch

  5. Collins you definitely know that what has killed soccer in Zambia is the privatization of the mines and state run companies. Mighty is up to now the team that as won more trophies than any other team in Zambia. it is a team that was a darling to watch in the 70s, 80s and 90s. I believe if business houses and individuals who love this club can come up with a scheme to financially support this great team, the good days will be back.
