  1. An eyeopener to Bonnetti and team. Its good to lose sometimes in order to guage oneself. However my worry is that Zimbabwe are now becoming our masters when it comes to southern african soccer. They have won the last three meetings with Zambia so what is happening to Chipolopolo?.Anyway lets sharpen up before we meet Comoros.Football is a funny game.Comoros can also pull an upset.Anyway well tried boys better luck next time although Zim now have bragging rights for a long time to come.

  2. Sure kuti twalusa kuli ba Simbabwe. Cansoni sana. Nomba what more with Ghana??????? Awe twakula mfwakofye!!!! Viva Bacelona!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Some people condemned me when I commented on the way football is being run in the country and the calibre of our players. I will say this again, Zambai is not going anywhere football wise as long as 1. we have big headed administrators running the game 2. Our players continue playing in inferior leagues like RSA & DRC (despite being better than the FAZ league)3. we are employing substandard coaches. We should learn from the past, Zambia managed to reach the CAN’94 finals despite losing ther entire team in gabon because were a lot better adminstaration wise, coaching wise. Since the world cup fixtures were announced Ive been following Ghana players closely. More than half of them play in good leagues in Europe. I love my country, but I do not want to keep my hopes too high.

  4. our zed team exposed again. we have no alternatives if the likes of the chamangas are not there. its always a problem for the young legs to rise to the occasion. from strikers to defenders it was zero.

  5. i saw the first ten minutes we never completed passes; gave away balls easily. but zim attacked from first whistle and never looked back; i was for a mighty awina icungulo but…

  6. Gumu gumu, when was the last time Zambia went through to the second stage prior to the Angola AFCON?10 years. If you allow yourself not to see beyond your nose, you wont see any good. The Kalusha Bwalya led admin led the team to a second round. We have to face facts baba, this game is about producing not nkani ya ndale.

  7. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE AND NEVER WILL IN THIS SO CALLED EXPERTRIET COACH. HIS STUPID AND SELFISH ACTS COST THE UNDER 23 A PLACE AT THE LONDON OLYMPICS. FROM THE 2988 TEAM THIS WAS THE BEST U23 TEAM EVER AND THE BOYS COULD HAVE MADE IT BIG. ALAS, THIS COACH HELD ON TO THE U23 PLAYERS HE DID NOT EVEN UTILISE. WHAT A SHAME.

  8. Rupiah must be very happy, laughing at us (Zambians) as he paces up and down in state house..saying, well Zimbabwe is my home…yabanyokola njala ba Zambia…!!

  9. @Chivotevote #7. There you are again with ur hero worshipping. I dont know how long u’ve been following the ball game in zed. I dont know which facts u claim to have coz the improvement u are talking about is nothing to write home about. What are you comparing that improvement to? Reaching CAN quarter finals has not been an issue for Zambia until in the recent past. If the football has improved why is it that Countries like Ivory coast, Cameroon & Nigeria are refusing to play friendlies with us?Very soon even Zimbabwe will start refusing to play us. I have said this b4, I liked Kalusha as player because of what he did for the country especially post Gabon. But as a coach and FAZ president, I believe a better person is out there if people like you see beyond their noses. epo mpelele.

  10. Gumu Gumu u dont understand things and its better u keep ur opinions to urself. Friendlies are not about about winning thats where u try new players and new systems and see whether they are working alright. You dont try new players in competitive matches, no. If you hate Kalu thats your own problem, Kalu cannot take players to big clubs no matter what. Its upto players themselves to work hard and win the hearts of scounts out there in Europe. Are you telling me that its Kalus admn that made Kalaba leave Porto, or Sakahuwa and Felix leave France? Our players should learn from hard working Jacob Mulenga

    • I completely disagree with you. These friendlies are very important especially FIFA approved ones as they determine the rankings on the FIFA rankings.

  11. such games should be used to feature new players so that we discover talent. even if we loose it shoudnt matter as long as talent is identified.now what do you want to know about chintu, mweene, kalaba, kalililo, mbola, singuluma, mudenda, chivuta, sunzu,…………i call this tourism. Lottie Phiri,Stephen kabamba, Sitali, Evans Kampamba, Sate Sate, Bruce musakanyna, Spacio, Silwimba………. are the players we need to take for friendlies to expose and nature them. and pick from the list mature players to be inluded in the Snr N Tearm. check what Barca is doing with frendlies dont just say their are the best. they discovered Thaigo atlantara and he is a marvel.

  12. Imwe bonse, cant you surely see why? We need a new government to completely overhaul everything in Zambia. As long as this mmd govt is in power, Zambian football will continue lagging behind. There is no seriousness in the way Zambia is being run, political, economic, social, sports and recreation, etc. Only a PF government will bring sanity to mother Zambia. Need I say more.

  13. Hey guys! What is your problem? I thought this was just a friendly. It is such fora that a team trainer can try new talent. Is it not just few weeks ago that Man United beat us (Barcelona) but we have kept our cool. Go Zambia, Go Zambia. RB Futi na futi.

  14. GET RID OF THAT FOREIGNER AND APPOINT A ZAMBIAN NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cant stand this anymore.. let slearn to manage our own things!!

  15. Dont be misplaced.. in the years ve lived alive to happenings in zambia i ve never seen any snr member of PF watch soccer even when there were MMD so you r telling us that when they are in Govt this time they will start watching soccer. Be practical. dont marry a sexy worker and plan to change her. america claims to be the best economy nd democratic nation what soccer is there, including china. FIFA does not alloy govt interference in soccer if you are new in the game know this.

  16. At the stage Zambia should be, any assembled squad should not have difficultiez in beating teamz in our region. Mind you this friendly waz played on the so called FIFA sanctioned date and so we will be rated by that loss and not that we were trying new talent.

  17. Goodmorning Zambians.Football is almost long gone in our beloved Country Zambia. I have said this because it is business now. There is nothing like being committed to national duties by players. They always think otherwise(dollars).I will give you an example,we had football administrators like late Eliya Mwanza and late Donald Musumali who could not eat when the national team has lost a game. Reason being they were committed to national duties to make the whole country happy.Eliya Mwanza could not allow any player to go out once it is camping time. There should be a valid reason for any player to leave camp e.g bereavement or illness.Where is the committment now in modern administration? There is too much of personal interest in the selection of players hence poor performance.

  18. Greetings from Zimbabwe! Zambians dnt wory about this defeat, after all i dnt think yu played badly. The good thing that i saw is that both the warriors and Chipolopolo have improved immensely. What we need is for the Southern African teams to be strong and end the dominance by North Africans (being supported by the monster Hayatou)….Imagine a very strong Botswana, SA, Zim, Angola or Zambia, soccer will be more interesting in our region

  19. LT this article is not as informative. We needed to know the strength of our team and what else could have had a bearing on the results!

  20. Lets be honest with our selves. I s Bonetti a good coach? Does he have a tactical approach? I dont think so.

    I miss Renerd mwe.

  21. Zambians do not overate yourselves. The ball is round and is played in the field of play not behind the screen as you are currenting doing. Zimbabweans have been working hard to rebuild the Warriors . A lot of investment has been done over the years through setting up of Youth Academies throught the whole country . This can undoubtly be seen in South Africa PSL were young Zimbabwean players are dominating. Zimbabweans are enjoying the fruits of hardwork . And remember such programmes normally take long time to show the results. But I can the fruits are already showing in the form of wins over Mali and Zambia

  22. It sad to hear you people saying it was just friendly.yes the friendly has just shown zimzim are getting better.after all this time around we should be playing friendly with  Ivory Coast and Nigeria not Zimbabwe and Lesotho. How zambians like consoling themselves ignorantly disappoints me. Look at our league it’s not that competitive no team goes out of zed to win. We are in trouble country men.Zimbabwe is slowly but sure going beyond our reach.
Stop ignoring issues all the time they won’t be solved.

  23. zambia has de best players compared to yester years.no excuse fo that italian yo burry come jan we need good results with or without change of govt.

  24. Countries are at war but play better that us, even ivory cost the Govt is not as what u think. there r hs been military interventions there but they play better than us ,Sudanese clubs are better than SA clubs, now those of you who think unless SATA or change of govt. you r soo brain washed nd dull that even the air u breath the chap will tell u that its his and will accept. UBUKOPO too much…..FIFA does nt allow govt interference in running of the game……. if u r new in zed soccer go and do politics with yo SATA…

  25. These friendlies affect FIFA standings n so they should be taken seriously just like a competitive game. these players are pros so no excuse. FAZ also ……awe katwishi!!

  26. Number 14 you are poor soocer analyst,number7 is correct.the standards of Footfbal is zmbia has gone down not becoz of Kalusha bwalya, but because of very very poor government policies towards sport development and it all started with FJT mismanagement of privatisation which affected teams like Nkana, wandriors, nchanga and Konkola.Copperbelty was a backbone of zambian football before privatisation, not now.please open up eyes and learn to consult people who have been following z football from seventies!!!!!!!!!!! dont just critize blindly!!

  27. The Government has completely abandoned Basic School Football. Currently, there is a secondary school tournamnet in Lsk, but wen you see the Boys play, you might think they are primary school pupils. Its ver..very sad to see that state of affairs. Where does the money budgeted for Ministry of youth, sport & child development go?. Does it go to paying salaries for some *****s?

  28. @15 longozo. So u think ur comments are better than mine? Are you the moderator of this blogg to decide who should comment or not. Back to the topic, I will say this again. Today there are a number of Ghanian players in the England. U know why because Daniel Amokachi, Rashid Yekini has been assisting young Eagles players find teams there. In Holland because of Finidi George, Tijani Babangida was able to play for Ajax Amsterdam. Abedi Pele’s son Andre’ Ayew is playing in the French league coz of his father’s influence. Kalusha did not clinch his own professional deal. David Phiri the then FAZ president worked tirelesly to see Kalu, Charles Musonda, Stone Nyirenda & Lucky Msiska make it to Belgium. So u new commers in the ball game dont just yap. have ur facts straight.

  29. @34 name one Zambian international player that you has been produced in the last five years. So why do you want to play with Ivory Coast and Nigeria. You are even luck to play with Zimbabwe. Matakadya kare haanyaradze mwana. King Kalusha is no longer playing soccer , he has done his part. You need to work hard and produce players who can play competitively in the European leagues. There are no small teams anymore. FYI Botswana became the first country to qualify for AFCON ….. Dont live in the past.

  30. No wise Zambian in his/her normal state of mind should imagine that Zambia will beat Ghana in the World cup qualifiers. It cannot not even be anyone’s dream, may be “nightmare”, it is a well known fact to all realists. Nothing like in football anything can happen in this case.
