Power Dynamos supporters on Saturday attacked coach Beston ‘Quicksilver’ Chambeshi at Musa Kasonka stadium in Ndola after the teams shock defeat to struggling Kalewa.
Chambeshi was slapped and manhandled by irate Power supporters at the end of the game that ended 1-0 in favor of bottom placed army club Kalewa.
The former Nkana coach was attacked as he was about to board Power’s team bus and was saved from more punishment after soldiers intervened.
Kalewa’s win was only their second this season after earlier beating Nkwazi 4-1 in Lusaka in May and the Ndola club came into this match against third from top Power on the back of four successive defeats.
Its really sad how much freedom our locals supporters have, such behaviour should not go unpunished even the Konkola blades,Arrows much had some bad scenes when a Konkola blades player was Red carded, fans begun throwing stones en other objects onto the pitch, very bad…
I guess the Power 90 supporters have never really taken to Beston, who was a key Nkana player in the glory days of the 80s and 90s.
What have they gained? Hope Faz will give them at least 2 points then for beating their coach.Sata should be aware of these guys if he does not deliver in “90 days”.
I thought it was Nkana who dont Know that in football they is no losing, kanshi na Power.
The wholesome hire and fire of coachez by clubs often makes supporterz have little or no respect for trainers. Fanz forget too quickly and will rezort to venting their anger on the “new man” in charge of the team.
Its unacceptable for these thugs masquerading as fans to behave like this. Chambeshi did nt plan to lose. Power lost coz it wasnt their day and suppotaz should learn to accept defeat painful as it may be. I shudder to think what these hooligans would do if Power were in the positio that our Warriors are rigt now
I watched the konkola blades and arrows match and i must say that it was really dissappointing to see the behaviour of konkola supporters who threw missiles onto the pitch when maybin chishimba was shown a red card, my appeal to konkola blades management and the police is that they should not allow the selling of alcohol on the terraces especially the so called tujilijili and shake shake opaque beer, most of the soccer fans on the stand popularly known as ku KANSELE drink a lot as beer of all sorts is sold there and these are the fans who were throwing stones and all sorts of objects.
This is the result of hiring unqualified coaches. No strategy. Anyway i blame the sponsors coz they have the money to hire coaches of high calibre. Why not go for Shehata the former Egypt NAtional team coach. he is good at working with local players or even Samson Siasia fo Nigeria. sometimes one just has to swallow their pride and say we need foreign coaches. The US men antional team have hired Jurgen Klinsmann. Meanwhile, Jacob Mulenga scored 2 goal in 12 minutes to secure a point for his club Utrecht who wee down 2-0.
