Medical team leaves for KK in Namibia

1. A paediatrician, a public health and a gynaecologist to see an old man. Talk of abuse of manpower. As a lay man, i think the team should have constituted atleast a geriatrician but NOT any of the three that have been sent. For example the gyancologist, will he be checking in case KK is giving birth or what? And the paediatrician, how old is KK first?

26. Why send a team of medical doctors from Zambia? Are there no medical doctors in Namibia to give an up-date on his condition? Now how do doctors from here go to a hospital in Namibia and start examining their patient? Anyway, we are laymen twakulaunfwakofye!!!!

    • John, Namibia is different from Zambia. Here, you can be hospitalised in a state hospital and be attended to by your own, private doctor. Your Medical Insurers ensure that that is possible.

34. The person who was quoted by the papers was Dr. Kaunda’s nephew Mr. Goodwin Mfula (umwana waba Joan Kaunda ) who runs the Office of the First President of Zambia. If ba Mfula wanted to hide his uncle’s illness what could LT or the Times do. The problem is that we Zambians are so polarised on political lines that we always want to ascribe bad motives. The Post probably quoted Dr. Waza who is not the official spokesperson designated by the old man.

Besides half of the doctors in Namibia are Zambia born and trained so no need to send these geriatrics to check on superman (Super Ken). 48. Hi. I am based here in Namibia. The old man is supposed to be discharged today. He was admitted bto Medi City here in Windhoek. Its part of the group of hosipitals where our leaders go in SA.
