Printing of ballot papers has not yet began

Share

Some political parties monitoring the printing of ballot papers in Durban South Africa have expressed sadness at negative reports suggesting that the ballots have already been printed.

United Party for National Development international officer Brian Hapunda has since advised political parties not to mislead the Zambians on the printing of the ballot papers.

Mr. Hapunda told ZNBC that the printing of the ballots is yet to start.

And National Restoration Party secretary general John Phiri says his party is saddened by the negative reports by political players that the process of printing the ballot papers has already started.

Mr. Phiri says political parties present in Durban are waiting for the process to commence later in the week.

Meanwhile, Zambians for Empowerment and Development secretary general Kelly Mukonka says it is important that political parties give the correct picture of what is taking place.

In a separate interview, Patriotic Front representative Troy Mwila says he will give a better comment when the time is right.

And the Movement for Multi Party Democracy which is being represented by Mikatazo Wakumelo says stakeholders present in Durban are waiting for the actual printing of the ballots to begin.

  1. For those that watched both Znbc and Muvi TV news yesterday, they were priviledged to see the various party representatives dispel as a complete lie. Sata’s claim that the ballot papers had started being printed. And for those that also listened to Sata on Christian Voice yesterday, many confirmed, beyond all doubt, that Sata is way too much of a clown to be entrusted with running this wonderful nation. Sata is more of stand up comedy than anything else. SATA IS CLEARLY BECOMING MORE AND MORE OF A LiAR! Shame

  2. How transparent was the selection of the printer?why select a corrupt printer? Why print in SA?
Thanx mr Sata for not being DOCILE like many of us zambians.Ur truly vigilant.

  3. PF is in total disarray. This party is failing to coordinte with its own Patriotic Front representative Troy Mwila in Durban. No wonder Dr. Chishimba has joined the mainstream to support RB to save Zambians from generating into political ruins. The political landscpe has changed in Northern Province too. Only indigenous Zambians have a warm heart for Zambia.

  4. #2. Don’t forget easily just coz sata is not in govt. even during their time ballot papers were printed from south africa, so why should it be a sin now that its not sata in power? guys lets be objective

  5. Let’s make a change for God’s sake.we cannot afford another term of failed policies.print the ballots in zambia.

  6. Gentlemen: I note your comments and observation, yes one can say why should SATA cry foul when he also printed in SA. The truth is he knows what happens, chance is that they did it too. We shouldn’t rubbish everything the man says. I don’t agree with his utterances but something he has said Govt has failed to deny. Be objective with you opinions otherwise you will be oblivious to reality. We all know that ruling parties in Africa often manipulate vote.

  7. Sata will never change for a good reasonable person who can lead a country as president because there is nothing good in the man. Zambians of good intentions should not give this man a vote because he will create us more problems as a country. He is a kabova and so are his followers.

  8. SATA is dwelling too much on trivial issues, He does not realise that he is making himself look so cheap and lost. Whre are his advisors…Dr Mulwila and Co. Muleisebanya fye. Citenipo ifyamano taimo inapelile.

    • King’s kid, you cannot triavialise the printing of ballot papers in RSA by a company alleged to be corrupt. This is an indicator that the whole electoral system is faulty!!

  9. One question comes to mind with regard to having started the printing of ballots, how possible is it for this company to have printed some ballots in advance? Did they print some ballots to show as samples during the tender process, if there was one? Are all the names on one ballot paper such that if they had printed in advance, it would be difficult to make changes? Is it true there was bribery involved in the tendering process? If so, why should trust either ECZ or the Printing company?

With the MMD govt, why did they have to outsource this process? And with regard to outsourcing, why are they outsourcing Police work to brutal Zimbabwe Republican Police? Is MMD gearing for a loss but shift numbers in their favor? Who in their right mind gets police from Zim?

  10. I always tell you not to TRUST SATAN and his Pa-Fwaka (PF) party. God REDEEM ZAMBIA by making this DEVIL LOSE. HIS LIES and DESPERATION have reached the EXPANSE of the NATION.

  11. The simple question is, What knowledge do those representative have to verify that the printing company has not done any printing of ballot papers before they toured the plant?

  12. To those who seem to have too much faith in MMD and government, without twisting your tongues, can you tell us when Zambia last had a free and fair election. And as this is not enough, when in Zambia did we have such tensions to an extent the US government had to issue a warning to its people about travelling to Zambia? Why only at a time when it is Banda at the helm of leadership?

Regarding the printing, when did Hapunda become the spokesman of the printing company? Was he there when the tender was awarded or bribed to this company? How does he know no priting took place few days before he got there? Even two hours before he was ferried to the place? Is there any fullproof to show that the printing will begin in this gooney’s presence?

  13. Can someone ask these cadres, which African country, probably with the exception of SA, has ever had a free and fair election? If people are readily stealing money, resources and other items in these countries, what can make them not steal ballots since some of them, it seems like they have survived and are thriving due to being in office? If Rupiah Banda even as Veep and as President can connive with his wife to steal the meagre resources in the Ministry of Education, what else can they steal to stay in power and enrich themselves? Insulting Sata is not what is at stake here, it is the future of the nation. If Banda has to win, let him win free and fair. But remember, I still maintain my position, Zambians are open like a cup. You receive anything without asking.

  14. @ Kalos or what ever….you are misguided. Do you believe that ballots where printed even before some parties announced their candidates? Let us assume that is correct, would Mr Sata fail to tell the Nation where the ballots are or atleast were they are roumoured to be? Tell us, since you know very well when the elections were rigged and your proof. About America issuing a warning on its citizens, I am sure you are not losing sleep over that, there is no violence atleast for now and no indication of an ugly election. Sata said the same things about Mwanawasa, Sata presided over several other elections when he was in MMD…tell us how he and others rigged the elections then.

  15. Just answer my questions. What is so fascinating here for you to be chuckling? If you have nothing to say, the wise thing to do, which by your response shows you are not, is to let people with answers or those who have something to contribute do. Only a fool will chuckle instead of answering question. What has days got to do with my questions? Where in my contribution did I mention days? Dull!

  16. # 17, with regard to violence, probably you have to ask the state department why the issued that warning, after all you are in the US. I see that you are not addressing the report which was in Zimbabwe state run Herald newspaper on the 10th August about Zimbabwe Republican Police being dispatched to help during and after elections. Why? Difficulty question I should presume.

  17. Intellectuals nensala? Look at your friend because of job seeking he is holding microphones now. Sata, with very humble education, but through hard work can own you so called intellectuals. Imwe munona ka BA ka UNZA ati muliba Intellectual?

  18. Its a pity that the PF kabovas will never learn and say anything constructive. The guys are so scared of losing the elections that they are trying to create uncountable smoke screens.Number 7 have just confirmed that Sata used to RIG elections when he was in MMD hence the apprehension! What facts do you have over your allegations? If Sata knows the elections will be rigged using a method he once used whilst in MMD,Why is he stupidly taking part in an election he knows he will lose? Why does Sata always claim he is forming government if he knows its impossible to win an election since there is a rigging method in place which MMD uses?Guys,be objective.

  19. This MMD representative, Mikatazo Wakumatako, whats so special about him? See how rotten the MMD is, this man not long ago was Director HRA at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You see how civil service has been compromised by this MMD. Its a shame.
