MMD defeat visible – Mulongoti

Former works and supply minister Mike Mulongoti says the MMD’s defeat in this year’s elections is visible from the caliber of its adopted parliamentary candidates.

Mr. Mulongoti has observed that the MMD is in a shaky mode in its campaigns especially for its Lusaka adopted MPs.

Mr. Mulongoti expressed confidence that the change that the people of Zambia want will come to pass on 20th September.

He says the MMD adopted parliamentary candidates are no match to those adopted by the Patriotic Front who he says are appealing to the people of Zambia.

He says the Patriotic Front will do well in next months elections because its campaigns are being centered on the people.

Mulongoti was, until recently, a die hard supporter of MMD and now he wants to portray a picture that he can curse the rulling party. Is he not only showing how foolish and stupid he is? Who ,even the most foolish individual in Zambia is Mulongoti trying to fool if not only members of his family? What sort of a lawyer is he? Even as late as early this year, this dimwit was telling us RB is the best man for the job of President and MMD is going to win the elections. What has changed Ka Mulongoti? Just because MMD did not deem you fit for the position of VP in their party. In case you have forgotten, you really wanted to be elected VP in MMD.     It is sad that despite your levl of education (since you can access internet and use a website) you can shamelessly campaign on tribal lines. You are not being helpful to HH because that is exactly the perception that he is striving to fight, that his popularity is only based on tribal affiliaiton.
    You need to know fully well that three tribes voting by themselves can not take one to State House. The 3 million people you refer to, if it is correct may include the under age youths and children, other ineligible to vote because they didnt register or something else. Please base your persuasion on principles, facts, what would HH do for whole Zambians????

HH has done his best to demonstrate that he’s a National Leader, how come all Bembas are PF and that is not tribalism? Face it Tongas are part of Zed and no one will chase them no matter how much they hate them. The biggest problem is that Bembas say they’re the only ones who should be rulling Zambia. These Thieves will bring war one day!! RB and not Sata will win the elections!!

In all his political career he has never been an elected Member of Parliament (MP), in other words he has never represented any constituency in Parliament. He just relies on the mercies of the incumbet. This time around, he defected to PF he could have contested in his home land, but i believe that not even his relatives can vote for such a person like ka Mulongoti. I always wonder who he think he is? Personally, even his image just irritates me.

  57. I agree with Mulongoti because I have seen the Clowns they have floated in Lusaka. But one should not be carried away based on this analysis. Lusaka has in a long time (at least during the last 3 major elections) voted for parties that did not make it to parliament. The same can be said of all other cosmopolitan places like urban copperbelt and Livingstone. I caution our colleagues in the PF not to overrate themselves because only the final vote count will tell us who the people have listened to and trusted with their next five years. Viva democracy!

Yes,its a fact that PF and UPND are tribal parties.But fortunately,Bembas are not stupid.Some have embraced it while others have rejected it,that’s why Sata does not win all the seats in Northern and Luapula provinces.Copperbelt and Lusaka provinces are not Bemba but Cosmopolitan provinces,yet they seem(ed) to be PF strongholds. Now, UPND is completely tribal.Tongas occupy only Southern province.Look at the voting pattern.Under Mazoka,UPND scooped all the seats in the province.Under HH,the same pattern has continued thus confirming the tribal tag.The only party with a national touch is the MMD,that’s why it wins elections and will continue doing so for a very long time to come.

  62. This year we shall vote based on what we earn and benefit!,if you work in the civil service or anywhere and strongly think that MMD has failed you, then vote them out. If you are a graduate or school leaver or business person and you do not have hope for better employment prospects,vote them out. If you are eating and chewing, Dora vote for her.   70. Mulongoti and Masebo have saddenly become PF’s champions.
    The reason is very simple; PF has no policy and no guidelines and no values.
    They can condemn certain behavior today and embrace the same tomorrow.
    They can condemn something today and embrace it tomorrow.
    They can embrace something today and condemn it tomorrow.
    This is very different with the MMD.
    while PF holds in high regard the very people they condemned, MMD will not never do that.
    PF adopts the same people the condemned when they were in MMD.
    MMD can not adopt a condemned person as if it lacks people.
    MMD will only adopt people they have not condemned.
    For example, all former PF MPs who have been adopted by MMD are those who already were ready work with government while they were in PF.

  73. Let’s not continue dreaming that if so and so becomes President things will change. The fact is we lack a good constitution, and no presidential candidate dare comment about it. Everyone become abusive when they ascend to the high office because of lack of good constitution. MMD altered the Mung’omba draft which gave hope for Zedians. Advise you guys just make your living if you can, even if it means stealing coz politicians cares less for your welfare. All they want is a vote.

Rather, PF was once a tribal party but it no longer is, while UPND was once not a tribal party, but it now is. Over time PF has managed to transform itself from a tribal party to a national party while UPND has successfully transformed itself into a tribal party. PF saw the evil and walked away from it, while UPND saw the same evil and walked straight into it. While travelling on the same road called tribalism, the two parties are travelling and headed in opposite directions. UPND needs to make a complete U-turn, otherwise it’s headed nowhere.
