Power Dynamos stayed top of the Faz Super Division table after beating Lime Hotspurs on the day the Kitwe giants and Zesco United set the standard in Week 21 in the race for the 2011 title race.
Power defeated promoted Lime Hotspurs 3-1 at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe while Zesco were 3-0 home winners over another newcomer Kalewa at the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola.
At Arthur Davies, Power went ahead in the 4th minute through Crispin Mulenga before Lime leveled in the 36th minute via a Brian Mwaba goal to see the two teams go 1-1 into the break.
Felix Nyaende scored his third goal in two games with Power’s second in the 58th minute and Luka Lungu wrapped up the business on 86 minutes.
Power lead on 40 points from 21 games while Red Arrows stay second on 37 points ahead of their Sunday clash against Green Buffaloes at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
However, Power’s healthy goal difference is certain to keep them on top for another week whatever the result at Nkoloma tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Zesco moved from 4th to 3rd place after beating Kalewa 3-0.
A rare goal from Billy Mwanza with an 18th minute header set Zesco on their way to victory.
Maybin Mwaba made it 2-0 in the 35th minute before Alfred Luputa scored his 10th goal of the season with the hosts final goal in the 74th minute.
At Nchanga Stadium in Chingola, Nchanga Rangers won their northern Copperbelt derby against Konkola Blades to move from 7th to 5th thanks to a goal from Kasonde Bwalya 5 minutes before fulltime.
Kabwe Warriors suffered their second successive defeat this time at home where Nkana beat them 1-0 via a Lameck Mwale 3rd minute goal.
And at Dola Hill, Forest Rangers defeated Nkwazi 2-1.
