MMD to resolve differences with Chieftainess Nkomeshya after polls

Share

Senior Chief Nkomeshya

MMD deputy national secretary Chembe Nyangu has said that the MMD will sit down with Chieftainess Nkomesha after the elections to see how best the two can resolve their differences.

Mr. Nyangu said that if what is being reported in the POST Newspapers is true, the party will see were they went wrong for reconciliation.

In an interview with QFM, Mr. Nyangu though stated that he is not in a better position to comment on the matter as he is still studying it.

He however said that even though it was Chieftainess Nkomesha’s democratic right to belong to any political party of her choice, she should not intimidate her subjects by threatening them on who they should support.

Mr. Nyangu said that her followers also have a democratic right to support whoever they choose to support.

And Former Movement for Multi party Democracy (MMD) chairman for elections Mike Mulongoti has said that it was shameful that Republican President Rupiah Banda could attack Chieftainess Nkomeshya in public.

Mr. Mulongoti said that this showed that the MMD presidential candidate has no respect for the elderly in the country.

Mr. Mulongoti wondered why he had vented his anger on the two women of Chongwe district because of the difference in political opinion.

He said that immediate past Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo and Chieftainess Nkomeshya do not deserve to be hated by the president because they are opposed to his leadership.

Mr. Mulongoti said that president Banda should accept that he has lost support in the country, stating that time for the MMD to leave office has come.

Mr. Mulongoti explained to QFM radio that intimidation and threats the president has engaged in will not help the party win this years elections.

He has further advised Ms. Masebo and the Chieftainess to remain firm, and not to be threatened by the MMD leadership who are desperate to retain power.

  1. This issue is getting boriiiing! Nkomeshya can support whoever she likes but she does not have the right to infringe the rights of others as regards political affiliation and expression.

  2. Chembe dallu, whats ther to study? go back to school where you find real stuff to study. You say you cant comment but you go ahead and do it anyways, aawe batata.

  3. #3 Am sure the people she has been victimising would not agree with you. She is not for the people, she is for her bululu Masebo. What she is doing is political nepotism of the highest kind.

  4. #3 Who is victimising who? Who is threatening to dethrone the other. Doesn’t threatening to dethrone someone amount victimization? What words did Nkomeshya say to her subjects that amounted to victimization.? Muletontonkanya bafikala. We can’t continue stand aside and see our land being given to Chinese by a few greedy buffoons?

  5. Threatening to punish village headmen who support MMD instead of opposition PF is not in the interest of democratic republic of Zambia.
Nkomesha being a chief am sure she thought she was in the right path, but that is wrong.
RB was right to warn her not to intimidate people based on their political affiliation
Banda RB said it was everyone right to affliate with any party even if it is different from Nkomesha’s choice.
Anyway, let them resolve it after elections because this time everyone is busy campaigning, including Nkomesha herself, Masebo and RB

  6. Guys but dora siliya alitumpa, the way she has embarassed her ex-husband in post news paper and comparing him to Sata political career is unfortunately a nasty way of political campaigning. Talking about her bedroom stuffs at a political rally, instead of talking about development programmes she would embrace if voted again, just shows why Zambia cant develop fast. Anyway RB should apologise to Chiefteness Nkomeshya for threats of dethronements coz there is no such a thing.

  7. MMD leadership must just swallow their suicidal pride and apologize to chieftainess Nkomesha for their blatant disrespect and unwarranted threats to dethrone her for asking for development in her area.
Rupiah must apologise publicly to her just like he attacked, disrespected and humiliated her publicly

  8. After elections the Chieftainess needs to be disciplined. If she is intimidating subjects with divergent views she is as bad as the thugs causing violence. Afterall, 100 years from now we will not have all this crap of chieftainships – it just confuses the governance process.

    • They are part of lcoal govt. after all the structure of governance is partly based on the local chiefdom setup that the colonialist found.

  9. #5 Tulatontokanya sana, that is why unlike you, we dont  take everything written in pfost as the  gospel truth. RB did not threaten to dethrone this ka chieftainess of a few thousand people. He only told her that she is not above the law and should not infringe on the right of others to freedom of political expression and affiliation. Your hatred of Banda  and tribalism should not blind you to the blatant nepotism and abuse of power that this unelected person is practising.

  10. Shut up iwe kachembe nshama. A u not reading the writting on the wall. Come 20/09 you will soon join Kadhaffi in the desert,,,,,
how do treat our own chief like that?while you are dining with chinese dwarfs?

  11. Dora Siliya,s continued urge for men to admire her bums on friday inspired Petauke,s chisonso villagers who asked to touch her breasts as well. Sunday Post
what kind of a woman is this?

  12. The Chieftainess was never threatenned with dethronment. All RB did was rightfully warn her not to intimidate her subjects especially headmen. In fact RB said she had the right to support anyone of her choice but in so doing she should realise that the Headmen had a simillar right to support anyone of their choice. What is so difficult to understand in this?

  13. RB and his sons are just after the traditional land under her. Do not give these crooks who are willing to sell off zambia not a centimeter, your royal highness.

  14. Truth be told fellow bloggers,Nkomesha and Masebo want to treat the people of Chongwe as though they are threir own servants atase ka chieftainess i for one wouldnt mind the dethronement mwandini kamayo aka should even take up so much coverage at the expense of other serious issues atase! Viva RB

  15. This chieftainess should know that her salary comes from government. Therefore, she is expected to support any government of the day.Its not normal nor logical to bite the finger which feeds you how ever you hate it.Its not normal or logical to bite the finger that feeds you however much you hate it.Its part of your body.Resign from chieftainess if that clear obligation is too hard for you to follow.

  16. It is clear that MMD are winning. There are no signs of the party failing to form government next week. Even the tone of the MMD NEC members is such that 20th Sep will come and go without any threat. Well done MMD!

You can deal with nepotism and chiefs after the election.

It is sad that Mwakalombe is also Soli but the chief sees other soli’s like Masebo to be more important than the rest. It might be time she allowed others to take over the chiefdom from her!

  17. Mwandi ma noti kutina ba nsuntwe ba mubembo ete chula.Mwekata inchito maningi kukana kupa land yeto kuli ba chinese.Long Live Mukambo and the Soli’s.

  18. Ten days more leader vs life long leader
RB started this new and now widespread habit of kneeling in front of Chiefs for political gain during campaigns (otherwise they would not even begin to come into the open to take sides).
The habit was started by RB (that is how he was given VEEP position)
SO STOP CRYING OVER THE MESS YOU’VE CREATED.

  19. Please RB dont resolve any issues with her. Let her rot and see how far her pride can reach. This dull and greed Chiefteness should be sidelined and see if she will survive with ka Masebo, ka hule Malupenga.

  20. Chembe Nyangu what of that BIG ***** Chief. John Malambo alias Mwanachingwala who daily insults Mr. Sata and calls for his people not to vote for Mr. Sata. Or that useless Chief called Mwata in Luapula? why talk about Nkomeshya and why wait for elections to pass before engaging her? Do u honestly think you shall pull through?

  21. its just the post trying to confuse the people..RB did not say that..its good he’s not reacting to what the post is saying..let them gays hang..!after elections…big time..resolve differences …

  22. Nyangu is being deceiptive just like his master. After elections if RB wins there will be no discussions but only instructions to retire the Senior Chieftainess. So all solis in and within Lusaka have been fore warned fight for your chief by voting Masebo and sata or vote for RB at your own peril.

  23. Chieftainess Nkomeshya is on campaign trail in support of Masebo and Sata’s PF. The Royal highness is not in a mood to give-up support for Masebo. Smiles (false or real) will only be restored after the elections Day. Let otner parties, such as UPND, NAREP, Heritage Party, MMD, UNIP continue to sustain their campaign momentum without being derailed by fruitless calls for reconciliations with a resolved political Chief.

  24. Resolving issues after elections my ass! These Mad dogs seem to have a plan! Will they rig again? Let sata be tried and see if he can do better and if not he goes also! Pabwaaaaatooooooo!s also! Pabwaaaaatooooooo!

  25. The chieftainess and her daughter Silvia are not helping their chiefdom by directly engaging Rb and disrespecting him. mike mulongoti is the most foolish man in this country. 3 years ago he is the one who with tetamashimba and chitala were in the fore front for RB and always attacked satan(n) and pf but after RB fired him the little man is saying unpalatables against the man he claimed was the best to rule Zambia. Mpombo, Mike, Chitala, Panji, Masebo, Mangani are all chancers but this time they have got it wrong because RB wins again, making it too hard for them to have anymore jobs.

  26. Guys, let us talk to whoever we can, but please for that one day let the entire Country spend there night at the polling station guiding our votes up and until the last vote has been counted and results announced by the ECZ in Lusaka (Confirmed by oursleves in the field as true). Please spare us your sleep and let’s all spend our nights at the polling stations. If you suspect there will be rigging at any one polling station, please let us go there early enough so we seal out everything.

  27. What has Masebo done for the people of Chongwe all these years as area MP? She was MP even in Mwanawasa’s time as president, what development did she do to chongwe for ten years? Obviously nothing to write home about, and to imagine she wants to be elected MP again? What is she going to do now that she failed to do during the time she served under her preferred president mwanawasa. Ideally, it would make sense to see another person take on the mantle, because this chongwe seat appears to be a personal-to-holder position for Masebo, whichever political party she decides to stand on. She has failed to take develpoment to chongwe, but wants to portray that its the govt that has failed. What has she been doing for the past ten years, if i may ask. And she blames govt? Morons!

  28. Please put on Red on the Polling day. I will do just that to show MMD the RED Card instantly. We’re sick and tired of this corrupt regime.
